Ms. Diviner: The Prodigal Daughter's Return

”You really don’t know?” Mu Hanyan looked at Yan Yuchu with suspicion. Before, this guy was acting all mysterious, making it seem like he knew a lot. How come he seemed even more shocked and clueless than she did when the assassin showed up?

”If I knew, I would’ve found somewhere to hide a long time ago, putting on airs in the middle of the night like this, isn’t that just asking for death?” Yan Yuchu said with a wry smile.

Mu Hanyan nearly burst out laughing; so this guy knew he was just showing off too.

”What do you actually know?” Mu Hanyan asked.

”Know what exactly?” Yan Yuchu shot back.

”How do you know my strength will greatly increase after I turn sixteen, and why are you targeting the Mu Family’s Heavenly Heart Technique? And what’s really going on between the Mu Family and the Yan Family?” Mu Hanyan demanded.

”You don’t know anything?” Now it was Yan Yuchu’s turn to be surprised.

”Spill it,” Mu Hanyan said impatiently, flicking her sword lightly and raising her eyebrows menacingly.

Yan Yuchu then realized they were enemies, and he instinctively took a step back.

”Alright, I don’t know much either, but I’ll tell you everything, just put your sword away first.” Yan Yuchu plopped down on the ground and began to speak to Mu Hanyan, ”I know your strength will greatly increase after you turn sixteen because that’s what happened to me. I also knew that the Mu Family must have someone with the same situation as me, a nobody before sixteen and suddenly becomes enlightened after. From the looks of it, that person must be you.”

Mu Hanyan was astonished. This Yan Yuchu’s situation was eerily similar to her own in her previous life. No wonder she’d never heard of his name before; it was because of this reason.

”How do you know about the Mu Family’s affairs?” Mu Hanyan asked, calming her emotions.

”Because the Mu Family and the Yan Family originally came from the same lineage, sharing a common source. They just split ways due to a falling out many years ago. Not only does the Yan Family know about the Mu Family, but the Mu Family should also be aware of the Yan Family’s matters. Were you never told any of this?” Yan Yuchu looked at Mu Hanyan oddly.

”What?” Mu Hanyan couldn’t believe it; the Mu Family and the Yan Family, the two oldest families in the Capital of Anyun Country, had such a complicated entanglement between them.

”I was also very surprised when I first learned about this, but my grandfather told me himself, so it must be true. Unfortunately, I didn’t start to advance in strength until after I was sixteen, and as my grandfather said, my achievements in this life are ultimately limited; therefore, there are some secrets I could never know.

Initially, my grandfather wanted me to leave and wander the world, never to return for the rest of my life. However, a few days later, an order came from the Main Family in the Capital, instructing me to stay at home and not to leave. They also sent me a Cultivation Technique, which is the Heavenly Star Gathering Skill you saw earlier.

I had nothing to do, so I volunteered to come to Xiushui City. Then, the news that the Yan Family had fallen out with the Mu Family spread, just as I was planning to target the Mu Family’s technique. At this opportunity, I took Mu Ziqing captive.

With the two Main Families in the Capital having a falling out, those minor branch families probably have no clue about the true situation. By my guess, neither Heishi City nor Shanyang City would wreck everything over such a trivial matter. If someone were to save him, it had to be the younger generation stepping in, either Mu Hanfeng or Mu Feng. I didn’t expect you to be the one to show up.

But you’ve hidden yourself well, already a Ninth Rank Swordsman, probably much stronger than them. I guess my goal has been achieved, as you should have the real Heavenly Heart Technique on you.” It seemed Yan Yuchu had quite a few doubts himself, spilling everything he knew like spilling beans.
