Ms. Diviner: The Prodigal Daughter's Return

Chapter 235: 235 once a fool with lots of money

She used to be so smug, but she hadn’t expected that Han Yan would wake up one day, completely transformed, putting her through endless frustration, to the point where she’d streaked naked three times.

In the past, when she dealt with Han Yan through overt and covert means, she didn’t feel there was anything wrong with it at all; she simply took pleasure in Han Yan’s misfortune. But now, having become the victim herself, the experience was wholly different.

Under the stark contrast, she despised Han Yan to the bone.

”That lunatic Han Yan, buying all those walnuts just to crush them in her pockets,” Fourth Miss Zhao said venomously, watching Han Yan’s retreating figure. ”Her brain must not be working right.”

Zhao Sinin glanced at Fourth Miss Zhao, then at Han Yan in the distance, stroking his chin.

He didn’t really hold much hatred for Han Yan. In fact, thanks to this Big Playboy Mu, he had twice feasted his eyes; thus, Uncle Zhao actually had a bit of admiration for Big Playboy Mu.

However, since the Goddess in his heart held such hatred for Han Yan, he couldn’t very well go against her will.

”Xian’er, rest assured, I will definitely help you get revenge,” Uncle Zhao said gently, wrapping his arm around Fourth Miss Zhao’s shoulder with a serious yet affectionate tone, whilst not so seriously copping a little feel.

”What can you do?” Fourth Miss Zhao said irritably.

At his age, he was still merely a Fifth Rank Swordsman, and just a side branch of the Zhao Family at that. If it were anyone else, she wouldn’t even bother with him, let alone let him take such liberties. But there was nothing she could do—he was, after all, an Academy Disciple of Zhengying Academy. She had no choice but to pay him mind; no matter how contemptuous or disdainful she felt, she had to suppress it.

”I remember you told me this Big Playboy Mu is ignorant and unlearned, always fond of bizarre trinkets, and has suffered a lot because of it in the past, even getting severely punished by his father. Why don’t we use this to our advantage, and give him a good lesson?” Zhao Sinin proposed.

”That was then. Han Yan now doesn’t seem so foolish anymore; I doubt that trick would work,” Fourth Miss Zhao shook her head.

Indeed, she had spoken of this before, and in fact, she had orchestrated the whole affair from start to finish.

She got a trusted disciple from a side branch of the Zhao Family to forge a Cultivation Method, making it look ancient enough to be mistaken for authentic. Then they found a few young playboys who were close to Han Yan as well as Mu Cheng to act as accomplices, seducing Han Yan into spending several thousand taels of Silver on this fake Cultivation Method. Of course, the cost of creating this secret manual was also high, and the fact that Han Yan was duped had much to do with Mu Cheng’s involvement, but who would have thought one’s own family could be so treacherous?

Han Yan was less than ten years old at the time, naive and stubborn, determined not to accept his fate as a waste. Thinking he had found a treasure in the Cultivation Technique, he practiced it secretly at home without telling anyone, and ended up losing control. If not for the fact that his own cultivation was frighteningly weak, and that Mu Rui’an discovered it early and intervened in time, the consequences could have been severe.

Even before incident, Han Yan was better known as a squanderer than a playboy. Being young, his misadventures were merely minor transgressions; he wasn’t capable of outrages like bullying men and coercing women into prostitution. However, as the son of the City Lord’s Mansion, his allowance was substantial, and with his parents’ laissez-faire approach towards him, he lacked any restraint in his spending; he carelessly earned the notorious title of the Mu Family’s prodigal son.

Following that episode, he became the epitome of a foolish spender. Fearing that he might squander his wealth on more stupidity, Mu Rui’an reduced his allowance, so the prodigal son became known as the Big Playboy.
