Ms. Diviner: The Prodigal Daughter's Return

”It’s quite strange,” Mu Huaidong was puzzled. Mu Nan arrived the latest; logically, they shouldn’t have had much contact, so why was he so actively defending him? He couldn’t ask explicitly in front of his grandfather; he had to suppress his doubts.

”Huaidong, do not speak nonsense!” the Third Elder rebuked. Although he disapproved of Mu Nan and Mu Hanyan being ”birds of a feather,” family scandals should not be aired publicly. How could such matters be openly discussed, especially since, after listening to Qu Shanling, his own attitude towards Mu Nan had subtly shifted?

”Oh? What did he do?” Qu Shanling was somewhat curious, prying into the matter. The way of the God-man requires not only quick thinking but also vast knowledge; missing any gossip was not an option, so being inquisitive was quite normal for him.

”He has no self-love, associating with a notorious playboy, and even tore a woman’s clothes in public, in the hall. Master Qu, do you think such a shameless and disgraceful person could ever amount to anything?” Mu Huaidong asked sarcastically.

”Thump.” Qu the God quietly swallowed his saliva: Indeed, this was talent! His Star Divination skills might not be refined, but he had some experience in Bone Reading. Just now, while holding Mu Nan’s hand, he sensed that the boy was about fifteen years old. Such a youngster, already bullying males and oppressing females, and even tearing other’s clothes in public—how could he be managed when he grows up? The only pity was that he hadn’t witnessed such an event himself.

”As they say, extraordinary people do extraordinary things. Since it is decreed by the stars, there must be something exceptional about him. What looks absurd and shameless to you appears to me as a free-spirited and brave hero, daring to act boldly. Isn’t it said that successful ones become emperors and generals, wealthy and respected, while the unsuccessful turn into infamous heroes of chaotic times, remembered forever? Truly, those destined for great things are never ordinary. Good fate, it indeed is a good preordained fate!” After swallowing his saliva, the old god raved with a shake and a sway.

...The Third Elder, as well as Mu Huaidong and several accompanying family elders, were all dumbfounded.

”Uh...” Mu Nan slipped from the table, and with his head lowered, he headed towards the door.

”Young Master Mu, are you alright?” Qu Shanling asked, puzzled.

”I’m fine, I’m just going to throw up.” Mu Nan’s face showed pain. Although he knew he was being praised and given face, couldn’t it be done without being so disgusting?

”By the way, who was that playboy you mentioned earlier?” Qu Shanling asked curiously again.

”Who else could it be but our Mu Family Patriarch, the Young Master from the City Lord’s family of Heishi City, Mu Hanyan, known for being spoiled and extravagant since childhood, incompetent and uneducated? He’s often mockingly called Mu the Spenthrift. After being disciplined and his allowance cut off, he no longer wasted money but became even more unrestrained in causing trouble, earning the nickname Big Playboy Mu. If he’s just a slightly older than Mu Nan, having learned to desire beautiful women and often tearing the clothes of respectable women in public, he’s also been nicknamed Mu Siyi.

Such is the man, yet Mu Nan admires him deeply, follows him around constantly, engaging in all sorts of utterly conscienceless deeds...” Mu Huaidong rambled on, listing all of Mu Hanyan’s misdeeds.

”What, you mean Mu Hanyan?” Qu Shanling said, shocked. He now understood that Nan Mu was Mu Nan, and the Young Master Nan, Nan Hanyan he thought was naturally Mu Hanyan as well.
