Ms. Diviner: The Prodigal Daughter's Return

”Alright then, as you wish, let’s bid fairly,” Mu Hanyan glanced at the crowd around and thought for a moment before she spoke.

Yuan Tianbo was overjoyed, but he didn’t expect Mu Hanyan to add another sentence right after: ”Snatching the Fire Orchid like this would make it seem like I’m bullying you. Forget it, I’ll give you a chance.”

Yuan Tianbo almost fainted: What do you mean it ’seems’ like you’re bullying me? Haven’t you bullied me enough already? Where the hell is your face? Did it grow wings and fly off? He only dared to howl these thoughts in his mind; he wouldn’t dare let out even a peep on the surface.

The people around were all wearing expressions of disdain. This Mu Family playboy, did he have any integrity at all? Was he deliberately trying to infuriate someone to death?

Nobody noticed that, while saying this, a sly, malicious smile flitted across Mu Hanyan’s lips.

Mu Nan gave a signal, and the steward understood, quickly stepping forward to invite Mu Hanyan, Yuan Tianbo, Che Xiang, and the others into the auction hall. Mu Nan didn’t know what Mu Hanyan was up to, but as long as the auction was held in his Nanmu Auction, he could collect a commission. It wasn’t much, but even a mosquito’s meat is still meat; no businessman would pass up the chance to make money.

”Ladies and gentlemen, according to the rules of Nanmu Auction House, we first need to appraise this Fire Orchid...” Upon reaching the auction hall, the steward began to explain the procedure.

There are countless Heavenly Materials and Earthly Treasures in the world, and not everyone can recognize them. Hence, the auction houses have this rule, where appraisal is carried out before the auction, and typically, the seller pays for the appraisal fee. However, Nanmu Auction House is different. Not only is the buyer responsible for this fee, but it’s also calculated as thirty percent of the final sale price.

The higher the final price of the auctioned item, the higher the appraisal fee collected in the end.

It might sound somewhat unreasonable, but according to Mu Nan, if you’ve already spent a considerable sum, what does a little more matter? If you feel it’s too much, you don’t have to get it appraised, but if you accidentally buy a fake, don’t blame me for it. You had your chance at our auction house.

One has to admit, Mu Nan’s rationale made sense. Those who were willing to spend a large amount of money at the auction truly aimed to win, and they didn’t care much about the appraisal fee which was thirty percent. Meanwhile, the seller could save a lot of money, which naturally made them grateful to Munan Chamber of Commerce. It was precisely one of the significant reasons why many vendors eagerly flocked to Nanmu Chamber of Commerce.

”No need, I know your rules. Just get started,” Yuan Tianbo interrupted the steward. He was afraid of any unforeseen delays. What if Mu Hanyan’s frivolous nature took over and he ran out of patience, refusing to bid against him? Others might not know, but as part of the playboy circle, didn’t he understand the nature of his own kind? Flipping faces and losing all shame in an instant. It was somewhat pitiful and laughable just how self-aware Yuan Tianbo was.

”That’s fine too, but if this Fire Orchid...” the steward was conscientious, and upon hearing that the appraisal fee would be forfeited, he quickly tried a few scare tactics.

”Would you freaking cut it out already? Keep blabbering and I’ll hit you, hm? Just get on with it,” as long as he wasn’t facing Mu Hanyan, Eldest Young Master Yuan still carried quite the playboy’s air.

Mu Hanyan secretly chuckled. So, Yuan the playboy was afraid she would change her mind? Truly impatient. She had seen people jump into pits before, but never someone so eager to jump in.

”Then let’s get started. As for the starting bid, please, this... Young Master Che, decide on it,” the steward, no longer daring to intimidate, addressed Che Xiang.

(I’ll have more later. The QQ Reading app now has a new feature called ”Big God Says” where you can ask me questions. At first, I thought it was about typing responses, but to my surprise, it’s actually about answering your questions with voice. By the Trump, it’s killing me! Those of you who dare, feel free to come, hahaha. There was a spicy question from Lan You that I responded to, but it seems like the microphone was covered, and part of the answer had no sound—my mistake. I’ll make sure to listen to it before sending it from now on. Otherwise, it’s a waste. I hope you all won’t listen to that one since it’s unclear. You can ask me again, and I’ll respond anew, haha. There’s a haughty veteran driver, I won’t say anything about her. You guys can just imagine. I didn’t answer a few questions earlier, showing as ’refused’ because I didn’t know about this feature then. If it’s outdated, it automatically shows as ’refused’, so please don’t take it personally, my dears.)
