Ms. Diviner: The Prodigal Daughter's Return

”They sometimes spend money to buy, and sometimes barter, I can’t earn much from money transactions, but I can take advantage of the goods exchanges. Even if I only get one decent item out of ten, just auctioning it off at the right time can net me a huge profit. With a bit of luck, I think turning a huge profit is definitely possible,” Mu Nan said with pride and satisfaction.

The idea of making a fortune hadn’t happened yet, after all, the auction house hadn’t been open for long and there weren’t many attractive cultivation resources available, but it was still something to look forward to and take pride in.

At this point, Mu Hanyan and the others suddenly saw the light.

Holy Court Continent was vast with sparse population, transportation was not widespread, and information was blocked. Moreover, since cultivators needed different cultivation resources due to their individual constitution and cultivation techniques, the higher their strength, the more apparent the differences.

To find suitable cultivation resources, most of the time they had to run around like headless flies, sometimes travelling thousands of miles to no avail. And Mu Nan’s auction house provided everyone with an excellent platform for mutual benefit.

The principle behind this was not complex to explain, but it was certainly not easy to accomplish. Take his free food and accommodations, not just any business could do that, and as for reducing commissions, that was even harder—who would willingly spit out the meat that was already in their mouth?

Mu Nan’s vision was certainly much broader than that of most merchants in the world.

Although he was temporarily losing money on lodging and commission, buying goods cheaply and selling them at high prices was more than enough to make his coffers overflow. And following such a trend, once his Nanmu Chamber of Commerce expanded to a certain extent, the accumulated commissions would be no small sum, while the trivial cost of food and accommodations would be negligible by then.

Zirong’s gaze at Mu Nan had changed; his vision and business acumen were commendable. Zirong had always been very confident in his own intelligence, but in this aspect, he greatly admired Mu Nan. (If they were in another world, this would be the embryonic form of Alibaba’s Taobao, although of course, Mu Hanyan and Zirong were unaware of that.)

Zirong thought to himself, no wonder Mu Hanyan had sought out Mu Nan, he might really find some treasures here.

”So, are you convinced?” Mu Hanyan asked, noticing the change in Zirong’s expression, with a smile.

Zirong was indeed remarkable, both in appearance and intellect, only too proud. It wasn’t too apparent now, but once he achieved success and recognition in the future, his pride would be unmatched, and it might bring him great trouble.

Since he was following Mu Hanyan, she naturally didn’t want him to make the same mistakes, so taking the opportunity to give him a heads-up was a good idea.

”Yes, I have to be convinced, but what I admire even more is you, Young Master. When it comes to judging people, I think you are still a notch above,” Zirong paid his compliments with a bow.

So he’d even learned to flatter. It seemed that a little admonishment was indeed useful. In his previous life, nobody had ever heard of the proud and aloof Demon Sword Zirong flattering anyone.

Flattery was always pleasant to hear, and naturally, Mu Hanyan found this flattery rather pleasing to her ears. But then...

”It’s one thing to recognize Mu Nan, after all, he’s your own brother, and you know him inside and out. To choose me, Zirong, from all living beings, what kind of vision that takes, how far-sighted and discerning you must be...” Zirong added wistfully. The more he interacted with Mu Hanyan, the more understanding he had of her, so he grew increasingly unrestrained in her presence. Anyway, he knew that the Young Master wouldn’t mind such things.

”Uh...” Mu Hanyan and Mu Nan both retched simultaneously, almost unable to hold back their vomit.
