Ms. Diviner: The Prodigal Daughter's Return

Chapter 55: 55 Fateful Encounter

Mu Cheng did not realize how wise his choice to remain silent truly was.

At this moment, Mu Hanyan had already become a Sixth-tier Swordsman. Indeed, in just a few hours, Mu Hanyan had ascended from a Swordman First Rank to a Sixth-tier Swordsman with the mysterious power provided by the Star Compass, outstripping her previous life’s rapid advancement by two whole levels. Coupled with her accumulated combat experience and ferocious determination from her past life, it would be only slightly harder than crushing an ant to kill him, a mere Third-tier Swordsman.

Walking along the main road towards the Mu Family residence, Mu Hanyan still clutched the Star Compass in her hand. After the recent transformation, the Compass had shrunk by more than half, now resembling a delicate pendant. The Star Chart patterns on it remained the same as before; almost all the stars had dimmed once again, with no visible traces of the Cultivation Technique pathways.

However, in the center of the collection of stars, one star radiated with a crystalline brightness, like the north star that guides one’s direction in the pitch-black night sky.

Using Concentrating Inner Vision, in the heart of her chaotic nebula, a star also shimmered with the same resplendent light, perfectly corresponding to the Star Compass.

As she cycled her Cultivation Technique to stimulate her Qi, this star would flicker, its light varying from bright to dim.

Mu Hanyan knew that this shining star corresponded to her current strength Realm; a single star signified a Sixth-tier Swordsman. And when the next star would light up, her strength was bound to leap once more.

If all the stars within this nebula were to light up, what Realm would her strength then reach? Mu Hanyan thought with a bit of longing and anticipation.

As much as she pondered, she could not come up with an answer. Still, she was certain that if that day ever came, her strength would far exceed that of her previous life, perhaps reaching a realm she could not even dare to imagine in her past or present life. Well, she would not think about that for the time being.

Mu Hanyan slowly walked towards the City Lord’s Mansion, her mood relaxed at this moment. After all, she was somewhat looking forward to the scene when she would spar with Mu Feng. Oh, right, she had to treat Qinglian to some delicious food. Thinking about what that plump girl liked to eat... Mu Hanyan calculated silently and then felt a drop of cold sweat form on her forehead. It was quite possible that she could indeed go broke feeding this chubby girl.

Yi Qinglian, that chubby girl, had too many favorites! Mu Hanyan tried to tally them all in her mind but couldn’t finish the count in one go.

Lost in thought about what Yi Qinglian would like to eat, Mu Hanyan didn’t notice a few people approaching her. The man leading the group suddenly stopped when he saw her. Absorbed in her thoughts, Mu Hanyan brushed against the man’s shoulder, barely noticing the contact. She didn’t even look at him, instead murmuring an apology before continuing on, her mind still occupied with what else to buy for Yi Qinglian.

After Mu Hanyan had walked away, the man she had bumped stood there, unable to come to his senses for a long while. The people behind him were puzzled, and one of them couldn’t help asking, ”Sir? What’s wrong? Did that kid hurt you? Should I grab him and bring him back?”

But then again, that was hardly possible. With the Sir’s strength, who could harm him? That would be a colossal joke. Was it because the kid had offended Sir, causing Sir’s displeasure? No, that’s not right either. It seemed like Sir had stopped on his own, deliberately allowing himself to be bumped. Why would he do that? They did not understand at all. And the most puzzling part was the distinguished identity of Sir and why he would come to such a remote small town.
