Ms. Diviner: The Prodigal Daughter's Return

Chapter 45: 45, you just need to be responsible for being fair and plump.

Mu Hanyan didn’t look back at Mu Feng again, but took Yi Qinglian by the hand with a smile on her face and headed to her own courtyard, then she ordered Xixi to bring pastries and make tea, and to send someone to buy those pastries and nuts that Yi Qinglian liked to eat.

Xixi hurried off to take care of these tasks with a smile, then ”kindly” walked away, leaving the two some private time. Mu Hanyan couldn’t help but feel her teeth ache from the teasing, encouraging glances Xixi threw her before leaving. One could easily guess what this girl was thinking. Daydreaming is a disease, this wretched girl, she should be taking medicine.

Mu Hanyan watched Yi Qinglian, who was holding pastries in her hands like a little hamster, her cheeks puffing in and out adorably as she ate, making one want to pinch her face. Yi Qinglian was a true foodie who liked everything delicious, which is why she had grown so plump.

”Hanyan, are you really going to compete with Mu Feng?” Yi Qinglian said worriedly, biting into a mung bean pastry. ”You are only First Rank, and he is Fifth Rank, it’s clear he is bullying you, shameless!”

Yi Qinglian was furious inside and had nothing but contempt for Mu Feng. Damn man! Bullying her Hanyan!

”Don’t worry.” Mu Hanyan smiled, reaching out to brush the pastry crumbs from the corner of Yi Qinglian’s mouth, her brows free of any hint of anxiety or fear.

”How can I not worry!” Yi Qinglian bit fiercely into the mung bean pastry as though she was biting into Mu Feng’s flesh, ”The gap in your strengths is too great.”

”You, just stay home, eat well, drink well, continue being plump and fair-skinned, and just wait for my good news.” Mu Hanyan looked at Yi Qinglian’s chubby cheeks, wanting to pinch them again.

Yi Qinglian gazed at Mu Hanyan with such certainty, and after thinking it over, oh, she got it, Mu Hanyan must have a plan already. And even if not, she had a father who was the City Lord, who surely had some precious treasure for her. That’s why she seemed completely unworried. With this in mind, Yi Qinglian wasn’t worried anymore, gleefully ate her pastries, and then started asking about Fourth Miss Zhao’s rampage through the streets.

Of course, Mu Hanyan vividly elaborated on the story, which left Yi Qinglian roaring with laughter, so much so that she ended up choking on her food, prompting Mu Hanyan to quickly pass her a cup of tea. She guzzled it down in one breath, patting her chest before finally catching it.

”Hanyan, if you can make Fourth Miss Zhao suffer that much, then I’m really not worried about your showdown with Mu Feng. I’ll just wait at home for your good news. After you win the competition, treat me to something delicious!” Yi Qinglian’s eyes sparkled at the mention of tasty food.

”Isn’t it supposed to be that if I win, you reward me by treating me?” Mu Hanyan pretended to be upset, glaring at Yi Qinglian.

”Who told you to be richer than me!” Yi Qinglian retorted with a proudly puffed-up face.

Mu Hanyan couldn’t help but laugh, nodding enthusiastically: ”Alright alright! My Lady Yi, just wait at home for my good news, and then I’ll treat you to a feast.”

Yi Qinglian nodded even faster than Mu Hanyan: ”It’s a promise!”

Xixi hid in the corner watching the interactions between the two, her face filled with satisfaction. Mu Hanyan caught a glimpse from the corner of her eye and felt a wave of toothache again. This stinky girl, always needlessly worrying and fantasizing about who knows what.

After seeing off Yi Qinglian, Mu Hanyan then began to calmly think of strategies. Truth be told, her current self had no chance of winning against Mu Feng! The gap in their powers was too vast. Even though she had rebirth knowledge, sharp judgment for dangerous situations, and a keen sense of peril, she no longer had the strength. Now, the only thing to do was to find a way to cultivate.
