Mr. CEO, You Look Strangely Familiar

Nora Ainsworth looked at him. ”Have you eaten yet?”

”No, I was waiting to eat with you. It feels better eating with someone.” The moment he finished speaking, Nora Ainsworth noticed the Men in Black behind him smiling fondly at them, each one grinning and showing a row of white teeth.

Quentin Grant shot them a glare, and the men instantly wiped the smiles from their faces, their expressions turning completely stoic.

Nora Ainsworth moved closer to him. ”Perfect, I’m hungry too. Let’s eat together.”

He forcefully took her hand. ”Together.”

Their two shadows huddled close together as they walked toward the living room under a single black umbrella.

The Men in Black watched clearly from a distance. They saw their Young Master had tilted the umbrella entirely over Nora Ainsworth’s head. A shimmering layer of snowflakes settled on his shoulders, but he seemed completely oblivious.

Once up the steps, he collapsed the umbrella.

Standing in the doorway, Nora Ainsworth could see the dishes on the table, their aroma wafting toward her even from a distance.

She murmured instinctively, ”That smells amazing.”

He changed his shoes behind her without a word.

They ate facing each other once again, just like they used to.

The food was delicious, and it had the distinct taste of his cooking.

”You made this?”

”Consider yourself lucky you get to eat my cooking.”

Nora Ainsworth rolled her eyes. ”It’s an honor for *you* that I’m eating it.”

Quentin Grant smiled faintly, saying nothing. ’There was always this feeling with her. They didn’t need to say much to share a quiet, peaceful warmth.’

’It was a subtle feeling, but one he desperately craved.’

’This sense of contentment was impossible to put into words. Only he knew just how it felt, a flavor he savored all by himself.’

Nora Ainsworth was full after only eating half. ”I’ll go upstairs and wait for you.”

The moment she left, he instantly lost his appetite too.

He shot a cold glance at the servant. ”Clear the table.”

Then followed her upstairs.

Lying side by side, he suddenly took her hand.

”As long as you’re alive, Nora Ainsworth, you can run to the ends of the earth, but you’ll still be my woman. You will always come back to me. As long as I want you, you are mine.”

”Quentin Grant, I wasn’t born to be yours. If you hadn’t forced me, we wouldn’t be living on parallel lines.”

He pulled the blanket over her, then lay down beside her.

He reached for the remote and pressed a button. Instantly, the heat clicked off, the curtains drew themselves shut, and the door locked automatically. The room fell silent. He wrapped his arm around her naturally and drifted off to sleep.

The snow outside fell thicker and faster. When she next opened her eyes, the world was blanketed in a pristine layer of white.

When Nora Ainsworth opened her eyes, she was looking at the very man she longed for day and night, the one who haunted her dreams.

’His gaze was deep and profound, pulling her into what felt like a fantastical dream world. She wanted to be a part of it, never wanting to wake up.’

’To want so desperately to be together, only to struggle bitterly against a cruel reality... perhaps that was the most painful part of it all.’

”What time is it?” she asked lazily, dragging her weary body upright.

”Eight o’clock.”

Nora Ainsworth shot up. ”I have to get to the film set! I’m going to be late!”

He pulled her into his arms. ”You don’t have to. I already spoke with your director. You can go in the afternoon.”

’Right then, Nora Ainsworth really hated the man before her. That infuriating rich bastard!’

’With just a single casual remark, he could make someone’s life blissfully easy or a living hell.’

”I’m hungry,” she said as she got dressed. ”I’m getting up to eat.”

He chuckled. ”And here I thought I’d already filled you up.”

Nora Ainsworth huffed. ”I’m not talking to you anymore. I’m going to get something to eat. I’m so hungry my stomach is touching my spine.”

He gave her an indulgent smile. ”Alright.”

After washing up, Nora Ainsworth left her long hair draped over her shoulders. Her bangs had grown out, so she parted her hair down the middle. Without the fringe, her well-defined features were even more striking.

She went downstairs. A servant served breakfast at the dining table. Once she’d eaten her fill, Nora Ainsworth headed for the front door without waiting for Quentin Grant.

Thinking she was about to leave, he rushed after her.

When he reached the doorway, he found her with a shovel, piling up the thick snow on the ground. Large, fluffy snowflakes drifted down from the sky in a slow, orderly descent.

She made for a unique picture in the yard, looking just like a child at play.

Quentin Grant grabbed a scarf and went over to her, wrapping it around her neck. ”You’ll freeze to death out here. Always finding some silly thing to do.”

”Lord Grant, let’s build it together.”

Quentin Grant’s eyes flickered and his brow furrowed. ”I don’t do such childish things.”

Nora Ainsworth pouted. ”There you go, putting on airs again.”

His brow smoothed, but his tone was displeased. ”What do you mean, ’putting on airs again’? Do I need to? Does a man of my stature really need to do something so... common?”

”You’re no fun. Not romantic at all.”

Quentin Grant was even more displeased with her assessment of him.

’Not romantic? No fun?’

’Did she really just say that?’

’Is she trying to piss me off?’

”Fine! If you want to build a snowman, we’ll build a snowman. What’s the big deal?”

He shrugged off his overcoat. The captain of the Men in Black standing nearby tried to dissuade him. ”Young Master, don’t take off your coat. You’ll catch a cold.”

”I’m fine. Just get me another shovel.”

The captain saw the faint excitement on his face. He knew that whenever the Young Master was with Miss Ainsworth, he was always in an incredibly good mood, so he didn’t want to risk upsetting him and had no choice but to obey.

A moment later, he handed him the shovel.

The two of them built it together, first packing the snow for the body, then the head.

Two snowmen, nestled close together.

Finally, Nora Ainsworth had someone bring out two longan pits for the eyes, then used a small carrot for the nose and a piece of red string for the mouth.

Nora Ainsworth placed her own hat on its head and draped her long, white scarf over its body, making it look almost like a wedding dress.

Finding this amusing, Quentin Grant put his own hat on the other snowman and tied his black scarf into a bow tie.

Looking at the two adorably goofy snowmen, Nora Ainsworth’s lips curved into a smile. ”They look amazing. I have to get a picture.”

As soon as she finished speaking, she waved to the Men in Black. ”One of you, come over here!”

One of the Men in Black immediately jogged over. ”Miss Ainsworth, how can I help you?”

Nora Ainsworth pulled out her white phone and handed it to him. ”Take a picture for me.”

The Man in Black instinctively glanced at Quentin Grant, but the latter’s expression was neutral.

Only then did he open the phone’s camera app. Nora Ainsworth stood beside one of the snowmen. Quentin Grant walked over and put his arm around her shoulders. ”Take the picture.”

Nora Ainsworth struggled slightly. ”I want a picture by myself! Get away!”

”We do not approve! Our beloved consort will hold still,” he said, a rare smile gracing his lips.

The Man in Black’s palms started to sweat. He had no choice but to announce, ”Okay, I’m taking them now!”

Only then did Nora Ainsworth stop struggling. She offered a slight smile. With the sound of the camera shutter clicking, she gradually relaxed.

Nora Ainsworth grew bolder and tugged on one of Quentin Grant’s ears, a moment that was also captured on camera. All of their goofy poses were recorded, one after another.
