Quick Transmigration: The Cannon Fodder's Comeback in the Era Tales

Chapter 403: Chapter 403: Unfit Foster Mother 44

Later, it was the police comrades who notified the parents, and the parents covered the loss, so Wang Xiaoyan’s money was finally fully recovered.

After Wang Xiaoyan got the money, she went to the school to request to drop out.

Because the theft had been reported to the police station, the school didn’t dare to withhold Wang Xiaoyan any longer and refunded her the fifteen hundred yuan tuition.

Wang Xiaoyan took the money and found herself a vocational school to learn pastry-making techniques.

She remembered that in her past life, all kinds of pastries were very popular. Any random bakery on the street was quite profitable.

Later on, with the internet booming, there were often viral pastries that sold out and even had hundreds of people lining up just to buy a box of pastries or a few cream twists to eat.

As soon as Wang Xiaoyan recovered the money, 007 reported it to her immediately.

Yuan Chun sighed and said, ”Lucky for her, the money was taken but she still managed to recover it.”

”That brother and sister pair got sentenced because the amount they stole was huge. Now they hate Wang Xiaoyan to death,” 007 said gloatingly.

Yuan Chun’s eyes flashed, and she asked, ”Was it just one or two years? After all, the money was recovered.”

”At most two years.”

After two years, when that brother and sister get out, won’t they seek revenge on Wang Xiaoyan?

Yuan Chun’s eyes curved into a smile.

Two years later, Wang Xiaoyan had graduated and smoothly found a job at a chain bakery, earning a monthly salary of two thousand yuan. Although the salary wasn’t high, the bakery provided meals and board, with four days off each month, and commissions based on sales revenue.

By the end of the month, she could earn about two thousand seven or eight hundred yuan.

But compared to the pocket money her aunt gave her in her past life, it was still a far cry. This little bit of money wasn’t even enough for her to buy a purse.

However... that was in her past life. In this life, she had no aunt to rely on anymore.

Even if Wang Xiaoyan disliked the low salary, she could only grit her teeth and keep working.

Because she was homeless, with nowhere else to go.

That day, after work, Wang Xiaoyan locked up the shop, eating the trimmings of cakes and bread as she walked.

The shop owner allowed them to eat these freely.

They closed at ten in the evening, and since they got off work late, everyone would take some to eat as a late-night snack. It saved money and filled their stomachs.

”Xiao Yan, I’m going to buy a drink. Do you want one?” At that moment, Xiao Li asked.

Wang Xiaoyan shook her head, ”I took some fruit scraps, I’ll just eat that.”

Wang Xiaoyan saved all her salary, unwilling to spend even a penny. She wanted to save up enough money as soon as possible to open her own pastry shop, so she wouldn’t have to work for others.

Xiao Li acknowledged, ”Then you go ahead, I’ll get a drink.”

”I’ll go with you.”

”No need, it’s not far. You go back and shower first, or the hot water won’t be enough for the both of us again.”

At night, only the two of them were on duty at the bakery, and their accommodation wasn’t far — an old community, with two bedrooms and one living room, housing eight bakery employees.

With just one bathroom for eight people, they often queued up at night for a shower, and sometimes there wasn’t enough hot water to go around, so they had to wait.

Having worked all day, Wang Xiaoyan was already tired and sleepy, wanting to get back for some rest early.

As she passed by an alley, suddenly someone rushed out, covering her mouth from behind and dragging her into a car.

It was unclear how long it took, but eventually, the car stopped.

She was then dragged out again.
