The Yellow-Haired Villain in Soaring Phoenix's Novels Also Desires Happiness

”Wha......what happened?”

Monis Enid of the Eye of the Nineteenth Prophet, who had originally still been fighting these Evil God believers, looked completely bewildered. She had been racking her brain over how to shake off these guys’ entanglement, but now......there was no need to shake them off. They had blown themselves up.

But before she even had time to breathe a sigh of relief because of that, she felt the air around her instantly become oppressive. The enormous shadow was clearly visible even beneath the night sky.

She raised her head......and saw the falling city.

She did not know just how much impact a city falling like this would cause, but she immediately realized that if it were allowed to fall, everything in this city would be completely destroyed!

”Damn it!”

Enid screamed in disbelief: ”Have those Evil God believers gone insane? They painstakingly plotted for so long just to die together with everyone?”

”Aren’t you the Eye of the Nineteenth Prophet?” Branch President Blaze roared from beside her: ”Hurry up and predict a solution! At this rate, everyone in the entire city is going to die here!”

”Fuck off!”

Enid snapped: ”No matter how accurate a prophecy is, it still can’t completely predict how reality will develop. If prophecy was really that fucking amazing, why would humanity still be afraid of the apocalypse? We would’ve beaten the shit out of every Evil God long ago!”

”Then what do we do?””

Blaze’s beard was trembling: ”Are we supposed to just stand here and wait to die?”

”Don’t panic, don’t panic......”^

Enid’s mind raced. Suddenly, she thought of something, and her eyes lit up: ”Right, don’t forget that there’s an extraordinary existence currently presiding over this city. As long as she’s here, there’s still a chance to turn things around......”

”But......will she really act?” Blaze asked with a trace of suspicion: ”That is......a calamity......”.

”......”

Enid’s expression darkened./

Right, that was a calamity.

Even though recently, because of Muen Campbell, the veil of danger surrounding her had weakened considerably in the eyes of ordinary people, those at their level still knew that a calamity was still a calamity._

In the past, she had destroyed who knew how many cities and how many nations. The rise and fall of the entire continent, in the eyes of someone who had lived for a thousand years, was nothing more than drifting sand carried away by the wind, incapable of stirring even the slightest ripple.

Would someone like her really, for the sake of one tiny human city......^

Whoosh——

At that moment, a violent gale swept over, instantly shattering the oppressive pressure in the air.*

Everything happened so suddenly.

Majestic molten-gold radiance pierced through the darkness and, at the same time, seemed to pierce through everyone’s fear and panic as well._

Everyone......whether those floating in midair because of magic, or Enid and Blaze at this moment. Every single person here stared in astonishment as that beautiful dragon body gracefully rose into the air, enormous wings spreading wide and gently supporting the falling city.

The city was so enormous that even the gigantic dragon body seemed somewhat small in comparison, yet that dragon easily stopped its descent.

In fact, seemingly in order not to damage the buildings inside the city, as well as the streets that had been decorated so beautifully for tonight’s festival, the dragon merely spread her wings as wide as possible, using the spaces between her wings to support the gaps between the buildings and streets——perhaps this was precisely why she had not directly used magic, but instead transformed into her dragon body.

In short, this seemingly terrifying crisis was resolved just that easily......if one ignored the fact that the dragon herself was even more terrifying than the crisis.

”She actually......really acted?” Blaze craned his neck upward. He had always considered himself someone who had experienced plenty of major events in his lifetime, yet even now, he still found it somewhat difficult to believe his own eyes.

A calamity had shown goodwill toward humanity. Was she planning to return to the human world?

Or perhaps......

”I knew those rumors were all true!”

Enid suddenly slapped her thigh beside him and exclaimed excitedly: ”Those rumors coming from the highest levels of the Empire weren’t baseless at all!”

”You mean......” Blaze asked blankly.

”Exactly.”

Enid looked completely certain: ”That calamity really is already pregnant with Muen Campbell’s child, which is why she’s being so gentle toward the human world......toward the Empire. After all, if you put it that way, this place basically counts as her husband’s family, doesn’t it? In the future, she could even raise her child in the Empire!”

A calamity who had originally been cold, emotionless, and high above everyone else, yet because of the human she loved, revealed a tenderness she had never shown before......what an incredibly romantic pure-love story.

Enid clasped her hands together, already imagining more than ten different heart-wrenching romances between human and dragon......completely forgetting that in the version of the rumor she knew, that cold, emotionless, high-and-mighty calamity was actually the one who had swooped in and stolen someone away from a wedding.

In any case, she shipped this couple!

......

......

”How......how is this possible?”

The moment that black dragon appeared, Yasa’s mind almost went completely blank.

He nearly had to use all his strength just to force himself to think about the one question he absolutely did not want to consider.

Could it be......that blond brat from earlier really was Muen Campbell?

Could it be......that his luck really was this terrible, and he had run into Muen Campbell after his return to the Empire, along with the legendary calamity?

”No......I refuse to believe it! Something with such a tiny probability......it’s fake, it has to be fake!”

He hurriedly pressed his hands together and prayed in his heart: ”My Lord......great Lord, save me......please save me!”

【......】

There was not the slightest response.

Clearly, that great Love God had personally bestowed a divine revelation upon him earlier, yet now, he could not receive even the slightest response.

”Why......”

Yasa’s lips trembled.

He had worked so hard. He had been so devout. Why......

”My Lord......why have You abandoned me? Is it because I haven’t sacrificed enough?”

If that was the case......

He reached out, plunged one hand into his chest, pulled out the almost completely rotted head of a young girl, and raised it high toward the sky.

”My Lord......I offer You my most precious heart as a sacrifice. Please save me, please......”

【......】

Still, there was not the slightest response.

Even the power belonging to Them within his body was rapidly being withdrawn.

It was as though......

”Stop wasting your strength.”

The blond man holding a sleeping beautiful girl appeared beside him. His fingers moved slightly, and pitch-black flames immediately surrounded them.

”That coward......is never going to save you.”

In the final moment before losing consciousness, Yasa heard only this one sentence blaspheming his Lord.

Yet even then......his great Lord still gave no response whatsoever.

......

Muen withdrew the black flames and looked around.

After this Evil God believer was eliminated, the strange rules enveloping the surroundings also returned to normal. In the blink of an eye, the city returned to the state it should have been in, standing upon the earth once again. Other than many decorations being left in complete disarray because of the earlier inversion, there were no problems whatsoever.

The casualties caused by this sudden Evil God believer attack......were zero.

Both its beginning and its ending had been abrupt and ridiculous.

And now, under Hamreign’s control, those people who had been floating in the air were returning to the city, but she herself looked somewhat nervous.

Because after doing all of this, even though she had already returned to human form, all those gazes were still fixed upon her.

The people of this city had already seen her terrifying side, so......

”It’s fine.”

Muen habitually and gently took her hand: ”People won’t start being afraid of you again.”

The warmth of his palm passed over, and Hamreign gradually calmed down as well.

And just as Muen had said, the crowd did not show the fear she had imagined. Instead, after a brief moment of stillness, enormous cheers erupted.

”Long live!”

”Long live Miss Calamity!”

”Long live Hamreign!”

”She’s so strong, even stronger than in the stories! She saved everyone all at once!”

”Thank you......please give me your autograph!”

The golden pupils flickered.

The crowd roared around her, making everything feel like another lifetime.

The beauty she had once pursued and protected was now displayed before her so easily.

Those people were cheering so sincerely from the depths of their hearts that even the name she should have hated did not seem quite so unpleasant anymore.

It was somewhat unbelievable.

And yet it was so real.

And it was precisely everything before her that made her feel grateful that, back then, she had chosen to follow the guidance of that voice......her golden pupils tilted slightly, her peripheral vision glancing toward the figure beside her. Only when she accidentally caught sight of the human woman he was holding did her brows still furrow almost imperceptibly.

”Lady Hamreign.”

Just as her thoughts were drifting away, Enid suddenly stepped forward and bowed to her: ”We will never forget the help you have given this city. If possible, we ask that you remain in the city a little longer, so that we may fully express our gratitude.”

”No need.”

Hamreign gently shook her head: ”I don’t need anyone’s gratitude. I merely did it in passing.”

”Is that so......”

Enid was not surprised in the slightest. In her eyes, this was exactly how aloof a calamity ought to be.

But it was not as though she had no backup plan. After all, from her current perspective, even if the calamity refused, she could still start from the other side......

”Then, Mr. Muen over here, I wonder if you......eh?”

Enid was just about to coax Muen into staying when, the instant she raised her head, she froze in place.

”Hm? What’s wrong?”

Enid’s strange behavior left Muen baffled as well. He asked in confusion: ”Is there something wrong with me?”

”There’s a huge fucking problem, Muen Campbell, how can you......”

Enid widened her eyes. First she looked at Muen, then carefully glanced at Hamreign, who was holding hands with him, and finally shifted her gaze toward Ariel in Muen’s arms.

He was holding her hand while carrying her......

Wait, why was this scene a little difficult for her to understand?

Enid thought.

Thought seriously.

Mobilized every single brain cell she had to think, trying to understand this scene......

Unable to understand. Abandoning thought.

Of course, even though she could not understand it, she had still realized one fact.

”tui, scumbag!”

Enid fiercely spat at Muen’s feet, all the enthusiasm from moments ago completely gone: ”Those tabloid stories were right. A guy like you deserves to be hanged from the city walls!”

”Huh?”

Muen was dumbfounded.

But before he could react, Hamreign beside him, whose golden pupils had moments ago still been sparkling with little points of starlight as she experienced the fervent atmosphere around her and the warmth of that hand with an inexplicable emotion, suddenly pulled her jade-like hand away as well.

Then, while thinking, she looked seriously at Muen.

”Muen, we’re companions, right.”

”Y-Yeah......isn’t that what you’ve always been emphasizing?”

”Good.”

Hamreign nodded seriously, as though confirming something. Then her figure flashed and disappeared from where she stood.

And as the legendary calamity departed, the crowd also stopped lingering. Under the direction of the city administration, they began cleaning the streets, and everything gradually returned to peace.

Leaving only Muen standing there blankly, his face full of confusion.

What was going on? Why had everyone suddenly left him?

After thinking for a while, he turned toward Blaze, who had not yet left, and asked: ”Did I do something wrong?”

”Sigh.”

Blaze sighed and patted Muen on the shoulder: ”Although I was quite wild when I was young too, at a time like this, even I still have to say one thing......”

”Say what?” Muen asked curiously.

”Say......tui.”

Blaze spat beside Muen’s feet and said with incomparable contempt: ”Scumbag, why don’t you just die?”

”......”
