The Wizard's Pursuit of Truth

’Truly remarkable.’

But the battle was set to last for half an hour, and there were still twenty-five minutes to go.

’In that case... so be it.’ Hades’s Biological Force Field roared like a lion, baring its claws as it ferociously compressed the area occupied by Wang Ya’s own field.

The Earth Fire swelled and burst, and one by one, the burning Energy Flames were snuffed out. The range of the Flame Demon Domain shrank continuously.

’If his Biological Force Field collapses completely, this troublesome technique of his will be gone for good.’

Hades had a keen eye; he had even seen through to the core of Wang Ya’s Witchcraft School. He knew Wang Ya had to rely on the Witchcraft State of his Flame Demon Doppelganger to execute any subsequent transformations.

Kaze Antuun had shown Hades footage from Wang Ya’s competition in the Secret Realm beforehand and had analyzed it with him.

HISS! HISS!

With a series of faint hisses, the Flame Demon Domain was suppressed until it was only five meters in scope. Now, some Witchcraft could completely engulf it.

Wang Ya’s expression was grim. The power of a Level 3 Wizard Apprentice was even greater than he had anticipated. The pressure on him was no less than what he had felt during the final battle of the Secret Realm competition.

There weren’t nearly as many Extraordinary Creatures here for him to use, and Harak wasn’t in this battle either.

SPLASH!

A stunning scene unfolded. Hades had conjured a massive tide of water from thin air, covering a shocking thirty-meter radius. The flowing tide then transformed into countless Tidal Water Snakes that lunged at Wang Ya.

They enveloped him completely, attacking from all sides.

’According to Hades’s battle plan, this was meant to restrain his opponent’s movements and interrupt that troublesome Witchcraft State.’

’The next step would be the final, decisive blow.’

The murky sphere of water behind him transformed into a full twelve Spears of Corruption. The spreading vapor seemed to suppress the Earth Fire burning across the ten-thousand-meter battlefield.

This attack consumed nearly sixty percent of Hades’s Particle Energy.

With a wave of his right hand, the five-meter-long, two-meter-wide Spears of Corruption shot in unison toward Wang Ya’s position.

’He had calculated the position perfectly. The Tidal Water Snakes would block all paths of retreat. His opponent’s Biological Force Field only had a five-meter range, and the Energy Flames burning on his body couldn’t possibly neutralize so many water snakes.’

’Besides, Water Elemental Energy countered Fire Elemental Energy. And in terms of Particle Energy, as a Level 3 Wizard Apprentice, he completely overpowered Wang Ya Harak, who wasn’t even a veteran Level 2 Wizard Apprentice.’

’He had won. It felt a bit cheap, but a win was a win.’

The spectating Wizards could also see the tide of battle had turned. Wang Ya Harak had been on the defensive the entire time. It would be no surprise if he lost; he was, after all, facing a Level 3 Wizard Apprentice.

The gap in their levels was not something that could be bridged by talent alone.

There were very few records in the history of the Dark Land of someone winning a fight against a higher-level opponent.

And none had been as outrageous as Wang Ya, fighting a Level 3 Wizard Apprentice so soon after becoming a Level 2 Wizard Apprentice.

Jim Novy frowned. ”Wang Ya Harak is already incredibly powerful. He transitions between different types of Witchcraft so fluidly, and he has immense combat experience. But the fundamental gap in their power is just impossible to overcome. If I were up there, I can’t imagine how I would defend against a Witchcraft like that... it’s like facing the Spear of Death.”

Dante Qiuji clenched his fists. He had just completed the initial stage of his Wizard Combat Body, which could withstand some Low-tier Witchcraft. Even so, he had absolutely no confidence he could face a Level 3 Wizard Apprentice.

’Perhaps once my Wizard Combat Body is truly perfected, I could contend with one.’

”Wang Ya Harak’s Particle Energy is absurdly high compared to ours. It’s only been four or five months, and his improvement has been so rapid. I can’t imagine what his Spiritual Power has reached.”

Riley Shebel grinned. ”He’s plenty strong, isn’t he? In any case, I’m not confident I could beat Wang Ya Harak.”

”As for the result of this Battlefield...” Riley Shebel glanced at Zack Antuun, who was standing beside him. A corner of his mouth lifted in a mocking smirk, and he said no more.

......

”Ten minutes,” Kaze Antuun said, a slight smile playing on his lips. ”As expected of a Wizard from an Inheritance Lineage, his Power is indeed formidable. It’s a pity, really. Hades advanced to Level 3 Wizard Apprentice in the third month. While this might be considered an unfair victory, Wang Ya Harak’s Power is still exceptionally impressive.”

Kaze Antuun smiled and said to the Kelan Wizard, ”Kelan Wizard, please give my regards to the esteemed Illusory Dream Wizard. This match in the Life Arena shouldn’t count. After all, a battle between a Level 3 Wizard Apprentice and a Level 2 Wizard Apprentice is inherently unfair.”

’The Wizard Contract has already been signed. The fact that Wang Ya Harak lost cannot be changed. According to its terms, the Black Sun Badge will be ours.’

’One shouldn’t be too greedy; Kaze Antuun understood this well. He didn’t care much for his reputation, and this way, he could even do the Illusion Illusory Dream Lineage a favor.’

’It would save face for both sides and prevent further disputes and conflict.’

’Afterward, he would just need to give Wang Ya Harak some small compensation to tie up the final loose ends, and everything would go smoothly.’

At this thought, the smile on Kaze Antuun’s face widened. ”I believe this is a result that no one can truly accept.”

The Kelan Wizard suddenly spoke up. ”Kaze Wizard, this match in the Life Arena is not over yet. There is no need to be in such a rush to draw conclusions and discuss the results.”

Kaze Antuun froze. ’Not over yet...?’ He sensed something, and his expression shifted as he looked toward the center of the ten-thousand-meter Earth Fire battlefield.
