The Wizard's Pursuit of Truth

The cold wind blew through the Maple Leaf Forest, scattering its leaves and making the scene feel even more bleak and desolate. Wang Ya and Kelan Wizard walked together on the stone path.

”The Evil God incident has been resolved by our Master and the Demon Dragon Wizard, but Master feels that something is off. The Gendas Evil God’s survival abilities are very strong; he died a little too easily.”

A fair hand emerged from beneath a black Wizard Robe, its fingers catching a falling leaf before gently flicking it away. Wang Ya looked up, a thoughtful expression flashing in his eyes.

Kelan Wizard smoothed her hair, her androgynous features and thin lips curving slightly. ”But even if the Gendas Evil God is still alive, it’s impossible for him to return to his original state, and the events of the Maya Kingdom won’t happen again.”

”Besides, his physical body and his Evil God Origin were obliterated. Even devouring the flesh and souls of three more populations the size of the Maya Kingdom’s might not be enough to make up for that loss.”

Wang Ya nodded. That was true. If something of that scale really happened, the Wizards of the Dark Land would have discovered it long ago and intervened to stop it.

Even if the Gendas Evil God fled beyond the Dark Land’s sphere of influence, the surrounding Wizard Influences—Mechanical Heart, the Land of Decay, the Ocean Corridor, the Natural Ring Tower... none of them were to be trifled with. They were all Wizard Influences on par with the Dark Land.

He also considered whether the Evil God’s Heart he had obtained was a part of the Evil God’s Origin. Since two Official Wizards had taken action and destroyed most of its physical form, the threat it posed to him was, by comparison, greatly reduced.

However, aside from the mandatory tasks, he didn’t plan on accepting any other Wizard Tasks. Most of his time from now on would be dedicated to completing his own Wizard plans, as well as beginning his exploration of Dream Witchcraft and the Illusory Dream Garden Secret Realm with the help of the Illusory Dream Wizard.

”As for you, Junior Brother, Master believes you can master three basic Dream Witchcraft spells within a month. Are you confident?” Kelan Wizard’s eyelashes were long, and her gray hair danced in the cold wind, giving her a dashing air.

The aura of an Extreme Wizard Apprentice was perfectly concealed by her. The two of them walking together looked like a painting set against the backdrop of the Maple Leaf Forest.

It had taken Kelan Wizard over two months, nearly three whole months, to master these three basic Dream Witchcraft spells.

Dream Witchcraft was different from the witchcraft of other Wizard Systems; it was heavily dependent on a special kind of Potential.

The weaker a Wizard’s Potential, the longer it would take. They would struggle to grasp the key points, let alone master the spells.

Kelan Wizard then smiled again. This little Junior Brother was someone their Master valued, someone they had personally appeared to accept as a disciple. The one-month deadline was also set by their Master, which meant it must be achievable.

She was actually starting to look forward to it—what this little Junior Brother would see, hear, and gain when he entered the Illusory Dream Garden Secret Realm.

Wang Ya smiled and shook his head. ”Who knows? Master said I could do it, but I still don’t even know what kind of Potential I have.”

Maple leaves danced in the sky, then were caught in a current of air, spinning and scattering out of sight...

「Illusory Dream Wizard Tower.」

His meeting with Kelan Wizard had just been a chance encounter on the way. In the transit hub on the first floor, she headed for the fifth floor, while Wang Ya teleported to the third layer.

Blinding sunlight pierced through the gaps in the trees, shining on Wang Ya and stretching his shadow along the cobblestone path.

This was a lush and towering Primitive Forest. The creatures here were only the most basic animals, but the abundant natural particle energy could support them in becoming Extraordinary Creatures.

The space of the third layer was somewhat similar to the Erosion Forest Secret Realm he had entered before.

The space had its limits, but it was enough for Wang Ya to use it to create his own cultivation ground.

The main laboratory was at the end of the cobblestone path, isolated by a Witch Array Protection. It was also in the style of an Ancient Castle, but it was much larger than his previous Wizard’s Residence. Moreover, the Witch Array Core could facilitate instant teleportation anywhere within the range of the third layer.

The ecological cycle of the third layer’s space was maintained by the Wizard Tower’s energy supply. The Tower Spirit was intelligent and would spontaneously help the Wizard with miscellaneous tasks.

Harak perched on Wang Ya’s shoulder, its black eyes looking at the environment that was gradually becoming familiar. But it restrained itself and did not spread its wings to fly off.

It would only act on its own with Wang Ya’s permission.

Wang Ya tapped Harak’s head with his long, fair fingers and said softly, ”Go on.”

With a slight shrug of his shoulder, Harak excitedly soared into the sky, transforming into a black shadow that vanished from Wang Ya’s sight.

BZZT! BZZT!

As energy surged in, bright lights flickered on in the corridor. The walls and floors were all made of a special metal, giving it a feel reminiscent of the modern research facilities from Wang Ya’s previous life.

In terms of Wizard Technology application, this was undoubtedly the pinnacle of the Dark Land’s technology.

A projected light screen appeared in front of Wang Ya, moving along with him as he walked.

Wang Ya used his finger to adjust some of the system functions, but only opened a Level 3 Laboratory, which occupied a negligible part of the main laboratory.

The energy consumed and the Wizard Technology instruments utilized were also minimal.

After all, with Wang Ya’s current Power and Ability level, a laboratory of this level was all he could handle.

Above it, there were also three Level 2 Laboratories and one Level 1 Laboratory.

As for the Level 1 Laboratory, even an Official Wizard’s experiments wouldn’t require its full power; its capabilities were immense.

After changing into a white Wizard’s Experiment Suit, Wang Ya spent about an hour immersing all the Gundas’ Dogs in a nutrient solution to maintain their biological activity.

At the same time, he recorded the relevant parameters and data.

With the Tower Spirit’s help, things were much more convenient for Wang Ya. Whatever he needed could be teleported back and forth through the Tower Spirit.

The Tower Spirit could also detect the most basic energy fluctuations and provide corresponding warnings.

Being inside an Official Wizard’s Wizard Tower, Wang Ya’s courage grew. He now dared to take out the Evil God’s Heart and work on it.

’But as for nutrient solution... I’d better not!’

Wang Ya did not handle it the same way as the other Gundas’ Dogs. Instead, he sealed it in a special cultivation chamber and injected a large amount of cryogenic gas.

Watching the fleshy, heart-like ball that was still slapping the Reinforced Chamber Wall with its flesh-and-blood tentacles even amidst the copious cryogenic gas, Wang Ya’s eyelid twitched.

’Such incredible vitality.’

The crimson heart... Wang Ya could only get a rough estimate of its Biological Energy by using the Eye of Truth.

In over two years, its Biological Energy consumption was only about one-thousandth of its total.

Even in an extremely low-temperature, frozen environment, it still maintained basic activity, like a dormant predator that would reveal its ferocious and savage instincts the moment its enemy showed any weakness, devouring you completely.

He moved a little closer to the Reinforced Chamber Wall. The fleshy tentacles had now crystallized, the crimson glow had dimmed, and the faint beating of the heart allowed Wang Ya to let out a long sigh of relief.

He was now certain that this was a part of the Evil God’s Origin.

Its display of vitality was simply outrageous.

Wang Ya walked out of the laboratory, changed out of his experiment suit, and with a thought, the Tower Spirit enveloped him in a teleportation Witch Array.

When he reappeared, he was in his study.

The space was much larger than in his Wizard’s Residence. It used rotating bookshelves, but the shelves were mostly empty.

The desk was by the window. The cold wind blowing from outside rustled the pages of a book on the desk. The wooden box was still placed on the top right corner of the desk.

Green Forest’s Soul Body state was stable, but he remained in a deep slumber.

Wang Ya had no good solutions for this.

The answer the Illusory Dream Wizard had given him was to just maintain the current state. When he advanced to Extreme Wizard Apprentice, he could try some methods to revive him.

Wang Ya suspected the Illusory Dream Wizard had seen through the situation with the Evil God’s Heart, and even Harak, but they hadn’t mentioned anything about it.

This reassured Wang Ya a great deal. It probably meant the Illusory Dream Wizard tacitly approved of his research.

The Evil God’s Heart held even greater potential and secrets concerning the Evil God’s true body. No wonder the Eye of Truth needed such a long time to analyze it.

A faint blue light flickered in his pupils.

[Current Dark Points: 3,000]

[Dark Authority: Level 3]

[Extraordinary Cultivated Creatures: Harak]

[Witchcraft Artifacts: Shadow Slayer Blade, Silver Bracelet, Face of Residual Dreams, Force Field Gemstone, red metal ring]

The Magic Stones were spent on purchasing those six pieces of Extraordinary Knowledge.

Over the past half a month, Wang Ya had also sorted out his own Witchcraft System. Through his own further improvements, he had incorporated all his original Low-tier Witchcraft into the Flame Demon Doppelganger.

Wang Ya named it the Flame Demon Witchcraft Stream.

Among Wild Wizards, the Flame Demon Witchcraft Stream that Wang Ya had improved and created could already be considered an extremely powerful Witchcraft School.

If it were placed in some Wizard Ruins, a large number of Wild Wizards would fight over it.

Of course, ’Wizard Ruins’ here was meant in the literal sense. Most were just simple residences with a few Witch Arrays set up.

Holding a feather pen, Wang Ya wrote down his subsequent wizarding plans on scratch paper. The thoughts in his mind became organized and grew increasingly clear.

Wang Ya’s eyes grew brighter and brighter.

[1. Learn and master more Extraordinary Knowledge to solidify the depth and foundation of my Advanced Extraordinary Knowledge. Before advancing to Level 3 Wizard Apprentice, acquire and master High-tier Extraordinary Knowledge.]

[2. Within half a year, complete the outlining of the remaining Wizard Runes for the Vast Sea Meditation Method and study the ’High-tier Chapter’ of the Vast Sea Meditation Method. Note: This will occupy one analysis slot for the Eye of Truth.]

[3. In line with the Elemental Wizard path, perfect the Flame Demon Witchcraft School, make up for any potential shortcomings, and create and improve more Witchcraft.]

[4. Regarding ’Harak,’ complete the optimization of the Infinite Genome, compensate for any potential flaws, and enhance its potential. Continue to deepen research into the ’Gundas’ Dog,’ and if necessary, attempt to begin the ’Study of the Evil God’s Heart.’]

[5. Master three Dream Witchcraft spells within one month.]

Wang Ya put down the feather pen. This was his temporary Wizard plan. Subsequent arrangements regarding the Dream Mage System would depend on what the Illusory Dream Wizard had planned.

With a clear plan, the last trace of confusion in Wang Ya’s heart vanished.

The corners of his mouth curved into a faint smile.

[Target: Vast Sea Meditation Method ’Advanced Chapter,’ eleventh Wizard Rune.]

[Estimated Analysis Time: 45 days]

Wang Ya did not use the Eye of Truth’s remaining analysis slot. He was saving it, considering that he might need it for auxiliary analysis when mastering the three Dream Witchcraft spells.

The Illusory Dream Wizard believed his Potential was sufficient, but even now, he still didn’t understand what this Potential was, or how it was judged.

Wang Ya’s consciousness began to examine the three Dream Witchcraft spells. The relevant Extraordinary Knowledge surfaced in the memory area of his mind.
