The Wizard's Pursuit of Truth

It proved necessary to eliminate any factors that could interfere with the dissection experiment beforehand.

The Blue Poison Monkey on the dissection table had its limbs perfectly incised. Even the grain of the muscle and the adherent parts of the fascia were cleanly separated.

The most critical area was the Blue Poison Monkey’s palm. The poison glands were hidden within its thick fingers, in the crevices between bone and flesh.

A viscous, blue liquid flowed onto the metal tabletop. Its source was the incised palm, from which it seeped through tiny fissures in the fingers as if from a pinprick.

This was the Extraordinary Poison Wang Ya required: Blue Poison.

The Blue Poison Monkey owed its name to this distinctively colored Extraordinary Poison.

Up close, one could detect a scent reminiscent of milk, yet it carried a fatal threat to ordinary people.

Even a Level 1 Wizard Apprentice would struggle to withstand such a poison. It would cause the body to grow stiff and immobile. This wasn’t paralysis, but rather a disruption of the body’s blood circulation, leading to systemic functional failure.

It was even more potent than the Red Scale Poison. Their similar traits sparked an investigative impulse in Wang Ya. ’Could the two be combined to create an even more formidable Extraordinary Poison?’

But he failed.

His failure wasn’t due to the two Extraordinary Poisons being incompatible. It was a failure in the collection and extraction process of the Blue Poison.

While he was extracting the poison, the howls and struggles of the other Blue Poison Monkey, accompanied by the foul stench of its excrement, had inevitably distracted him.

One small slip-up had caused the entire dissection experiment to fail.

Wang Ya’s expression turned grim. His gaze fell upon the other bound Blue Poison Monkey, its eyes rolling as tears streamed down its face. He had made a major mistake, one he should never have made.

Any Wizard Experiment must be conducted without any disturbances. A Wizard would completely seal off their living quarters and set up a Witch Array for isolation.

All necessary items for the Wizard’s Laboratory would be prepared in advance, with nothing superfluous to the experiment present.

He made no excuses for himself. ’I was immersed in the experiment, so I subconsciously overlooked it...’ ’Wrong is wrong.’

Everyone makes mistakes. The most important thing is to never make the same mistake twice.

He took a deep breath, calming his somber mood. The Blue Poison on the metal tabletop had been exposed to the air for some time, its potency greatly diminished, rendering it useless to Wang Ya. Only Blue Poison that remained within a body or a poison gland could maintain its activity.

For this purpose, Wang Ya had located a miniature cultivation pod in the cultivation room. It was about the size of his palm and was specifically designed for the Cultivation of microscopic substances like Extraordinary Poisons, or even Extraordinary Bloodline factors.

The dissected poison gland and the secreted Blue Poison should have been placed in the cultivation pod immediately. Afterward, he could have used a Wizard’s methods to extract a true sample of the Extraordinary Blue Poison.

Distinguishing its differences and commonalities with Red Scale Poison, and determining if fusion was possible, would require meticulous observation later, allowing the two poisons to intermingle while he recorded the variables.

Wang Ya placed the corpse of the failed Blue Poison Monkey dissection into the disposal unit in the cultivation room. Cleaning the dissection table was even more convenient; it was an automated process, secreting a special fluid that sterilized all microbial activity.

As the dissection table gradually became pristine again, Wang Ya’s mood returned to its initial state of calm. Emotional fluctuations were the greatest taboo during a Wizard Experiment, and this held true even for a minor dissection.

The surface of the metal table began to heat up, evaporating the last drop of the sterilizing fluid until it was as clean as new.

The revolution of Wizard Technology had undeniably changed the entire Wizard World. This dissection table, for example, utilized a great deal of Wizard Technology. In addition, the Mechanical Wizards had also established a set of proper standards for Wizard Experiments.

According to the Wizard chronicles, before the Mechanical Wizard system emerged, Wizards were still mired in a rather bloody and barbaric state. Wizard Experiments were extremely imprecise, and the proper requirements for experimentation were not yet recognized. Test subjects were treated brutally, and minor factors were often ignored during the process, leading to an exceedingly high failure rate for Wizard Experiments.

This was unavoidable even for the Elemental Wizards, a relatively more refined Wizard System. There was a period when Wizard development reached its zenith, and the demand for Wizard Experiments was nothing short of frenzied. To pursue the truth and obtain the answers they sought, powerful Wizards would even use an entire world as their own World Experiment Field. They would release an extraordinary virus of their own creation, scattering it across a Little World with the goal of using natural selection—the survival of the fittest—to perfect their creation’s flaws.

This was to say nothing of Black Wizards, Dream Wizards, and Bloodline Wizards. They conducted Wizard Experiments with the greatest frequency, and their required test subjects included humans, animals, Extraordinary Creatures, and even other Wizards. Who wouldn’t be curious about the fluctuations in a Wizard’s particle radiation, the process of their cellular evolution, or whether their soul and Spirit changed under extreme torture? And what were the dreams within a Wizard’s consciousness like?

It was impossible that the information Wang Ya now possessed and the Extraordinary Knowledge he had learned did not include content inherited from that frenzied era.

Of course, the darker parts of their history—such as forcibly combining Wizards with Extraordinary Creatures to study whether a Wizard’s Extraordinary Physique could merge with an Extraordinary Creature’s bloodline—were hidden away.

Wang Ya had only read about it on his bookshelf, in an extremely obscure text titled *On Wizarding Madness*.

This even gave rise to entire Warlock Clans. They were largely humanoid, but some abnormalities were inevitable, depending on the concentration of the Extraordinary Bloodline within them. Powerful Bloodline Wizards were quite fond of such special test subjects.

They were extremely rare now. Those that remained had united, clamoring for ”wizarding rights” and insisting they too were Wizards. They were Wizards in name, at least. Whether other Wizards truly accepted them or discriminated against them in their hearts was another matter entirely.

This time, the last Blue Poison Monkey was bound and secured to the dissection table.

Wang Ya’s eyes were exceptionally focused. He would not repeat his previous mistake.

His grip on the Wizard Dissection Knife was firm and exceptionally steady.

Before the Blue Poison Monkey could even attempt to shriek or howl, a cold light flashed. Its throat was completely severed. The bloody cavity heaved, expelling a foul, coppery gust of air.

Only as Wang Ya’s knife moved again, this time to remove the creature’s genitals, did blood begin to slowly seep from the wound in its throat.

He would absolutely not make the same mistake again.

He even made a decision internally: ’From now on, for any live dissection, I will remove these two parts first to eliminate all potential disruptions.’

As for anesthesia?

Wang Ya’s technique was fast, but his knife was faster. Anesthesia would disrupt the organism’s most basic reactions, preventing him from obtaining accurate experimental data.

Wizards never give their test subjects anesthesia.
