The Wizard's Pursuit of Truth

[Target: Wang Ya]

[Age: 14]

[Spiritual Power: 6.3 (6.1 + 0.2)]

[Physique: 5.2]

[Particle Energy: 1.3 units]

[Wizard Meditation Method: Vast Sea (Basic)]

The limit of a mortal’s physique through self-training was 5.0. It was generally impossible to surpass this value without using some kind of Extraordinary means to change it.

The essence of a Wizard was to continuously sublimate their Spiritual Power to influence reality.

The birth of Particle Energy and the beneficial radiation affecting the physical body were both examples of this.

With a thought, his consciousness gradually entered a vast, dark place where he could hear the faint, crashing sound of ocean waves.

A faint glow emanated from a lone star in the sky. Upon closer inspection, it was actually a conglomerate of various complex strokes and patterns.

This was a Wizard’s Sea of Spirit. By outlining and meditating on a Wizard Rune, one could illuminate their own Sea of Spirit and thereby sublimate their Spiritual Power.

The Tuta Wizard had given the freshmen this Vast Sea Meditation Method when they first boarded the Wizard Ship.

It was a Basic Meditation Method from the Dark Land, one that could be perfectly converted to and integrated with various advanced, legacy Meditation Methods.

The difficulty of the first Wizard Rune was not high, but as the number increased, the difficulty grew exponentially.

Wang Ya attempted to meditate on and outline the second Wizard Rune, but he failed. He only managed to complete about thirty percent before his Spiritual Power was depleted and exhausted.

’I’m too unfamiliar with it, and it’s taking too long. This process requires a continuous drain on my Spiritual Power.’

Wang Ya returned to the real world, pressing the spot between his eyebrows to alleviate the faint, sharp pain in his mind.

A Wizard’s meditative cultivation could be aided by various means, such as Wizard Potions, special Extraordinary Plants, Alchemy Means, and so on.

However, he would only have the chance to acquire such things after entering the Dark Land.

That evening, Harak returned with a flutter of wings. The round glass window was gradually becoming a bit small for him, especially after a full meal, when he had to struggle to squeeze through.

Wang Ya checked Harak’s State. The feathers on its wings were gradually becoming uniform, arranged in neat, overlapping layers. Its claws were incredibly powerful, capable of easily crushing a Sea Beast’s spine.

Harak had finally stabilized completely, and the various traits of the ”Steel Teeth and Sharp Claws” Cultivation Witchcraft were now perfectly manifested.

However, one thing caught Wang Ya’s attention. Through Harak’s consciousness, he sensed that something was off about the Sea Beasts in the surrounding waters.

To be more precise, far too many Sea Beasts were gathering around the Wizard Ship.

This boundless ocean was recorded in *Dark Land—A Detailed Topography* under the name ’Endless Sea.’

This meant that no Wizard had yet been able to probe the ocean’s end. The farthest exploration had only led to the discovery of an island at the edge of infinity.

Beyond the edge of infinity, chaotic Particle Energy lingered day and night, alongside blinding lightning storms and waterspouts that swept across the heavens and earth. The suction was so powerful that even a mountain range caught within would be instantly turned to dust.

All sorts of extreme and harsh weather conditions made even powerful Official Wizards fearful.

In the past few months, as the Wizard Ship sailed these waters, powerful Sea Beasts never came within a thousand meters, as if they had an instinct for danger.

Weaker Sea Beasts would get curious about the Wizard Ship’s presence, often ramming right into it, only to become food for other Sea Beasts after the ship had passed.

These Sea Beasts were also usually the food source for the Wizard Freshmen.

In some of the images from Harak’s consciousness, he could clearly see countless dark shadows swimming beneath the water’s surface within a hundred meters of the Wizard Ship, packed densely together.

It was as if they were driven by some force, yet they also feared the Wizard Ship, caught in a fragile state of Balance.

’This is highly unusual.’ Wang Ya’s expression turned grim. ’Does the Tuta Wizard know about this? ...Could that powerful aura he released that night have been a sign?’

No matter what, the Wizard Ship was not going to remain peaceful.

’All I need to do is look out for myself!’

Wang Ya stroked the feathers on the back of Harak’s neck, the heavy feeling in his heart easing slightly.

He, too, wielded Extraordinary Power, and besides, the unfathomably powerful Tuta Wizard was also present.

’I should just stay in my room for the next few days and focus on my Wizard Meditation Method. I’ll try to meditate the second Wizard Rune into existence. I wonder how much it will sublimate my Spiritual Power.’

”Hey, Wang Ya, you’d best stay in your room for the next few days. Don’t come out.”

In a corner of the automated cafeteria, Gray plopped down and whispered something that surprised Wang Ya.

He put down the bread in his hand and glanced at the still-scruffy young man, who continued speaking.

”Kebik is really restless, and its temper is getting more and more foul. It’s not just because of my Cultivation Witchcraft; there’s an external factor at play.”

Gray said, ”My Consciousness Seed has vaguely sensed something is wrong. I don’t know what’s happening, but I’d rather not see one of the two of us who chose Extraordinary Cultivation Witchcraft on this ship disappear.”

”I’m going to stock up on seven days’ worth of food now and focus on studying the Wizard Meditation Method in my room,” Wang Ya said simply, then lowered his head to finish the food in front of him.

Gray let out a strange chuckle. ”Great minds think alike. I knew you couldn’t be any dumber than me. Just as sharp.”

Revealing his yellowed teeth, the corner of his mouth curved up in a sneer. He shot a glance at the center of the automated cafeteria, where a group of Wizard Freshmen were holding their so-called ”Wizard exchange meeting” as usual.

”A bunch of idiots.”

”Well said, Lord Arthur! With you sharing your experience, I feel like my understanding of the Vast Sea Meditation Method has increased by another ten percent.”

”And Lord Anna, Lord Lowell, and Lord Ossen, your shared experiences have been a huge help to us all.”

A crowd of Wizard Freshmen cheered, praising the four people at the center.

Even the somewhat shy and awkward Rovena had gotten used to it after sharing his experiences several times. Copying Arthur, he tilted his head up slightly and showed a confident smile.

This was the glory they deserved. After all, for every sharing session, they spent a day or two beforehand outlining their speeches.

This inevitably took a lot of time away from their Wizard cultivation, but Rovena wasn’t worried. Big Brother Arthur had said that the four of them had the highest Wizard Qualification. They could complete their cultivation in a tenth of the time it took others, and getting into the Dark Wizard Academy would be no problem at all.

Rovena suddenly noticed something and looked curiously at Wang Ya and Gray, who were collecting a large amount of food.

’How come I never noticed those two before? Why don’t they come to the Wizard exchange meeting? Everyone gets something out of it.’

Arthur noticed his gaze, clapped him on the shoulder, and said with a mocking smile, ”Don’t mind them. They’re just a couple of foolish, Low-tier freshmen. They chose the Extraordinary Cultivation path, so they’re not our kind of people.”

Rovena said, ”I just think they’re a bit pitiful.”

Arthur shook his head and said, ”There are too many pitiful people in this world. They need to pay the price for their own foolishness.”

”Of course, no one is stopping them from joining the exchange meeting. It’s their own ridiculous pride that’s holding them back.”

Rovena could only sigh.

Anna brushed back a strand of her fiery red hair and chuckled lightly. ”To each their own. There’s no need to force it. As long as they can bear the consequences of their choices, it’s fine.”
