The Wizard's Pursuit of Truth

A feeling of fullness bloomed in his Spirit, as if he’d gorged himself until his stomach was stuffed and even breathing was an effort. This visceral sensation, coupled with a faint dizziness, made Wang Ya subconsciously grab onto a nearby bookshelf for support.

The Extraordinary Knowledge that had once been incomprehensible and obscure became clear and well-defined after being analyzed by the Eye of Truth.

Between heaven and earth, there existed vast quantities of Natural Energy Particles. They had different properties: inert, active, and varying elemental differences... Life originated from the world, and the Particle Energy within a Wizard’s body shared these same properties. However, it was far more difficult to find, almost infinitesimal.

A Wizard’s Spiritual Power was the source of the Extraordinary. Through the Sublimation of Meditation, it could gradually come to affect the real world.

The Fear-Burning Fire Witchcraft was released by using Spiritual Power to channel the Particle Energy within one’s body.

Everyone was different, so the Elemental Particle Witchcraft suitable for them also varied.

If the Particle Energy in one’s body was more suited to Fire Elemental Particles, then casting a Fire Elemental Particle Energy Witchcraft would be twice as effective with half the effort, and its Power would also be greater.

Wang Ya silently spoke three words: ”Elemental Particle Affinity.”

He was curious whether the Particle Energy in his body leaned toward this property. He also gained a new understanding of the choice of Wizard Path, as described in the books about Wizards on the shelves.

And this was just one of the branches within the Elemental Energy Wizard System.

At a higher level, there were Bloodline Wizards, Mechanical Wizards, White Wizards who studied life, and Black Wizards who pursued souls... and each of these systems had even finer subdivisions.

Not to mention the Wizard Systems that had vanished into the long river of history.

At that moment, the Wizard World—as profound and vast as the Endless Sea—revealed the tip of the iceberg to Wang Ya.

He took a deep breath. ’Regardless of which Elemental Particles I’m inclined towards, I have to at least try.’

The Eye of Truth continued to analyze the new Low-tier Witchcraft, [Fire Elemental Particle Energy Shield].

Meanwhile, Wang Ya began to study and master the [Fear-Burning Fire] Witchcraft.

「Five days passed.」

Outside, the seascape remained monotonous, aside from the different conditions of the sea and the ever-changing sky.

The storm from the previous night was an event that had left all the Wizard Freshmen on the Wizard Ship deeply shaken.

Thunder boomed and lightning flashed. The wind howled and the waves churned. In such conditions, the massive Wizard Ship was like a toy, tossed about at will.

Everyone knew what would happen if the ship capsized.

Even Wang Ya, for once, wasn’t studying Extraordinary Knowledge. Harak was curled up in a corner, and the flashing lightning cast a white glare on his pale cheeks, revealing an expression of terror.

Through the tightly shut window, within the surging waves, there seemed to be a terrifying presence. It had an immense body, and as it thrashed about wantonly, the very seabed seemed to tremble because of it.

’This is the extreme power of nature.’

After surviving the storm, they were greeted by blue skies, white clouds, and soaring seabirds. Along with this came some good news: he had completely grasped the [Fear-Burning Fire] Witchcraft, perfected the Particle Energy calculations, and could now attempt to cast it.

The most difficult part of this Witchcraft was controlling the Particle Energy and maintaining the stability of each Fire of Energy.

The slightest mistake could cause it to explode, reducing the entire room to ruins. If he were lucky, he might leave behind a charred, intact corpse.

The number of Fires of Energy depended on the amount of Particle Energy the Wizard outputted. The same was true for their Power.

Wang Ya certainly wasn’t going to cast the Witchcraft in his room. To play it safe, he joined the Sea Beast hunt for the day.

Harak flew and circled high above, keeping watch and also observing if any Wizard Freshmen were swimming in their direction.

A cluster of reefs stood in this part of the sea—a peculiar and rare sight. The largest of them endured the wind, sun, and the crashing of the waves, yet it remained hard and stable.

Wang Ya stood on this reef, his gaze fixed on another one a short distance away that was breaking the surface of the water.

He was also very curious about the power rating of the Fear-Burning Fire Witchcraft.

Generally, it was judged by the Particle Energy Units the Wizard outputted.

According to the Inheritance Witch Book, a fully cast Fear-Burning Fire Witchcraft could reach a rating of at least 13.

One’s Physique resistance could provide a certain degree of defense corresponding to the Witchcraft’s power rating.

Of course, if the gap was too large, one would simply be turned to charcoal.

The Power of an Energy Flame could turn even steel into liquid in an instant.

The second Wizard Rune had brought an increase, with his Particle Energy reaching a value of 1.6.

Wang Ya focused his mind, calming himself. His Wizard’s Spiritual Power began to sense the natural particle energy in his surroundings.

This was a little trick for mastering and casting unfamiliar Witchcraft: using the elemental properties of the world to trigger a reaction from the Particle Energy within one’s own body, which could even slightly increase its Power.

However, it required a certain amount of time, making it particularly clumsy to use in actual combat.

He raised his pale palm. A large amount of Particle Energy from within his body gathered in its center. With the participation of his Extraordinary Spiritual Power, a touch of crimson bloomed upon it.

PFFT!

The flame was small at first, like a seed. Then, as more Particle Energy was poured into it, it grew larger, and the flickering flame began to stabilize.

Finally, a crimson Energy Flame the size of a bowl materialized in his palm. It wavered in the sea breeze, looking as if it might go out at any moment.

At least eighty percent of the Particle Energy in his body had been consumed.

Wang Ya’s expression changed slightly, and a faint blue glint flashed through his pupils.

The flame contained a high concentration of Particle Energy, extremely condensed. Under the control of his Extraordinary Spiritual Power, he was barely maintaining its Balance.

But every unit of Fire Element Particle Energy was highly active by nature. They would move spontaneously, collide with each other, and destroy this stability.

Wang Ya suddenly felt his scalp tingle and immediately hurled the flame in his hand.

The next moment, with a piercing shriek, the expanding flame exploded into a blast of light and heat that swept through the area. It had a radius of about five meters, and the reef was within its range.

TSSSK! TSSSK!

A great deal of steam rose from the surface of the sea. The Witchcraft was still too unfamiliar and unpracticed; he couldn’t maintain it for long, only for two seconds.

Wang Ya narrowed his eyes. The fiery light had already died down, and the reef had been turned into a carbonized, blackened mass.

The Eye of Truth saw through to its essence. The reef’s interior had also suffered absolute destruction; a gentle squeeze would make it crumble like soft earth.

Of course, the high temperature inside had also formed crystalline structures.

[Target: Fear-Burning Fire]

[Rating: 13]

[Duration: 2 seconds]

[Casting Time: 10 seconds]

Perhaps it was also due to the marine environment; the external elemental medium leaned toward water and was in an inert state.

Triggering it through Spiritual Power perception was too slow.

In ten seconds, even an ordinary person could have run up and stabbed him seven or eight times.

Wang Ya’s brow furrowed slightly. The rating had met the standard, but the casting time and duration could be further optimized.

’The environment affects Witchcraft, that’s unavoidable. On land, its Power should be even greater.’

’With the help of the Eye of Truth, I should be able to bypass the perception-based triggering with Extraordinary Spiritual Power and just use the Particle Energy in my body to activate the Witchcraft directly.’

Fortunately, the analysis of the [Fire Elemental Particle Energy Shield] Witchcraft was also reaching its final stages.

’I’ll master it tonight!’
