Tycoon: I Have an Unlimited Modifier

Since they started following Qi Sheng, the two women had certainly seen the world.

Qi Sheng had bought them plenty of luxury goods.

Bags costing tens of thousands, clothes costing over ten thousand—he hadn’t skimped on any of it.

But a watch worth several million was completely beyond their comprehension.

A price that horrifying? That was enough to buy a 300-square-meter luxury flat in Chengdu outright, wasn’t it?

Qi Sheng, however, was unfazed by the price.

”Price isn’t an issue. Bring it out so I can take a look.”

”Of course, Mr. Qi. Please wait a moment.”

Seeing that Qi Sheng wasn’t the least bit fazed, Zhou Qiong turned and went to the back of the store to retrieve the carefully stored timepiece.

Three minutes later, Zhou Qiong carefully placed a solid wood watch box on the table.

After opening the box, an exquisitely crafted skeleton watch was revealed to the three of them.

”Mr. Qi, would you like me to help you try it on?”

Zhou Qiong saw the look of awe in Qi Sheng’s eyes and immediately felt a sense of relief.

’Barring any surprises, this sale is in the bag.’

’Don’t ask me how I know. It’s just a top seller’s intuition!’

”Yes, please.”

Qi Sheng was eager to get his hands on it and feel for himself the allure of a watch with a retail price of over 6.8 million.

”It’s my pleasure.”

Zhou Qiong slipped on a pair of black velvet gloves and carefully lifted the watch from its box.

Then, she fastened it onto Qi Sheng’s wrist.

Only after checking and re-checking that it was secure did Zhou Qiong release her hands.

Then, in a voice filled with pride, she began to introduce their store’s crown jewel.

”Mr. Qi, this is the Traditionnelle model 30030/000P-8200. The case is crafted from the finest grade of precious metal, 950 platinum.”

”The only other timepiece crafted from this material is the ’King of Watches’ from Patek Philippe.”

”Furthermore, in addition to its top-tier tourbillon mechanism, this watch is also equipped with a minute repeater complication.”

”Of the three grand complications, the minute repeater is the most intricate, and also the most expensive.”

”Skeleton watches with a minute repeater function are exceedingly rare, across all brands worldwide.”

”Most importantly, the Caliber 1755 movement used in this watch was introduced in 1992. Only 200 were ever made.”

”Due to its rarity, this movement is exclusively used in Vacheron Constantin’s own top-of-the-line models.”

”You could say that each one used is one less in the world, and now, they are completely out of production.”

Qi Sheng lifted his hand, admiring the watch on his wrist, and couldn’t help but feel impressed.

Through the sapphire crystal, he could clearly see the inner workings of the watch.

Countless gears whirred in a methodical dance.

The centers of some gears were even set with brilliant purple jewels.

Compared to a regular watch, the fully skeletonized design allowed one to appreciate the beauty of the mechanism more directly.

This was no longer a simple watch.

It was more like an exquisite work of art worthy of collection.

The only drawback was, compared to a standard dial, the time markers on the skeleton face weren’t particularly clear.

But Qi Sheng wasn’t buying a watch just to tell time anyway.

As long as it looked good, he liked it, and it was prestigious, that was enough.

”I’ll take this watch!”

Zhou Qiong had been waiting patiently for Qi Sheng to get a feel for the watch. When she heard those heavenly words, she was momentarily stunned.

As a salesperson for Vacheron Constantin, she had served plenty of wealthy clients.

Generally, watches priced over a million were rarely sold on the same day.

Most clients needed to view them several times.

They would compare prices and mull it over for a long time before finally deciding to purchase.

Many trust-fund kids were willing to spend millions on a supercar.

But very few were willing to spend millions on a watch like this.

After all, a watch wasn’t like a car.

Its practical value was far lower; it was a luxury item in the truest sense.

And while some limited-edition watches had a certain collectible value, even Zhou Qiong, a Vacheron Constantin salesperson herself, had to admit one fact.

Vacheron Constantin’s ability to hold its value was nowhere near that of Patek Philippe.

At major auction houses, Vacheron Constantin was consistently overshadowed by Patek Philippe.

Based on Qi Sheng’s tone, his expression, and the Roger Dubuis watch he was wearing, she could tell that Qi Sheng was a client with serious purchasing power.

But she never imagined he would decide to buy it after only a brief look.

’My god, this is a watch worth nearly seven million!’

’That’s more than a Ferrari!’

Zhou Qiong was stunned for a long moment before she found her voice to confirm, ”Mr. Qi, are you sure you don’t need to think it over?”

”No need. Run the card.”

Qi Sheng waved his hand dismissively and handed over his China Construction Bank private banking card—the one with a number ending in eight 8s.

As a salesperson for Vacheron Constantin, Zhou Qiong had of course seen this kind of ultra-prestigious private banking card before.

Only then was she certain he wasn’t joking.

Suppressing her inner excitement, Zhou Qiong proceeded with the standard service protocol expected of a professional salesperson.

”Please wait just a moment while I confirm the current market price for this watch...”

After a quick search on her tablet, Zhou Qiong asked, ”Mr. Qi, the current price for this watch is 6.85 million. Is that acceptable?”

”Fine.”

Qi Sheng replied without hesitation.

’It’s just over six million. Not to mention I have over seventy million in disposable funds. Just the rent from the office building alone would bring in at least tens of millions annually (once the Hoya Hotel’s lease was up). With his financial resources, treating himself to a watch worth several million was no stress at all.’

”Excellent, Mr. Qi! I’ll process the paperwork for you right away!”

Card swiped, documents signed—once the whole process was complete, Zhou Qiong carefully packaged the handcrafted solid wood box, along with the complimentary straps and watch winder.

She presented it to Qi Sheng with both hands and offered him her business card.

”Mr. Qi, this is my card. If you have any questions at all regarding watches in the future, please don’t hesitate to contact me...”

”Alright.”

Qi Sheng took the items and turned to Pei Yinyin and Xu Ying, who were still standing there, stunned. ”Do you two want to take a look at the ladies’ watches?”

”No, no, we’re good.”

Xu Ying quickly shook her head. ”I wouldn’t dare wear a Vacheron Constantin. If those women at the office found out, they’d gossip me to death.”

If Qi Sheng had offered her a Cartier Ballon Bleu, she would have accepted it in a heartbeat.

But a Vacheron Constantin, worth hundreds of thousands or even over a million? She really wouldn’t dare accept that.

”I don’t want one either.”

Pei Yinyin shook her head as well. ”I dance a lot, so there’s really no need for me to wear such an expensive watch.”

Unlike Xu Ying, Pei Yinyin was still thinking about Qi Sheng’s promise to buy her a house.

Compared to the sense of security a house provided, a watch worth a million or so was hardly worth mentioning.

”Alright then.”

Seeing that neither of them wanted one, Qi Sheng didn’t press the issue.

”Then let’s keep shopping. You each have a 500,000 budget. Don’t be shy.”

”Okay!”

The two women’s eyes lit up, and they replied in unison.

After another two hours of shopping, both women were dressed in new outfits from head to toe.

All sorts of designer clothes, bags, shoes, and accessories.

They had enough for a week’s worth of different combinations.

Qi Sheng also picked out a bunch of clothes and shoes for himself.

’I have so many homes now, I’ve got to leave a few changes of clothes in each one, right?’

At this thought, Qi Sheng couldn’t help but break into a knowing smile.

’Too many women meant even his clothing expenses had to go up.’

But this was the kind of happy problem he was more than willing to bear.
