**

A sharp cry echoed through the air.

From the distant mountain peaks, more than a dozen giant white cranes suddenly took flight. The white cranes spread their wings wide, gliding swiftly toward the group. On the backs of the cranes, several figures could be seen standing tall.

As they drew near, a green-clad figure flashed down from the lead crane, appearing gracefully before everyone.

It was a young girl who looked to be rather youthful in age. She wore a simple green dress, her large watery eyes blinking adorably, her delicate face still carrying a faint trace of innocence and purity.

”Master, you’re back!”

Seeing Feng Zun Zhe, the girl’s face lit up with a radiant smile. Her voice, clear and melodious, sounded like a songbird’s call echoing in a quiet valley.

With a playful expression, she waved her slender jade-like hand, signaling the circling cranes in the air to retreat. Then her bright gaze turned toward Wei Yang and the others, curiosity flickering in her eyes as she observed the travel-worn group.

This girl was none other than Mu Qingluan — the current leading disciple among all members of Falling Star Pavilion, and Feng Zun Zhe’s direct disciple.

”Mm.” Feng Zun Zhe smiled and nodded, then turned to point at Yao Lao with a grin. ”Come, pay your respects to the Pavilion Master of our Falling Star Pavilion.”

Mu Qingluan was slightly stunned upon hearing that. Her gaze landed on Yao Lao, and in the next instant, her eyes widened in surprise. The old man before her looked exactly like the ancestor depicted in the ancestral portrait of their sect.

Realizing that Feng Zun Zhe wasn’t joking, she quickly stepped forward and respectfully greeted, ”Qingluan greets the Pavilion Master.”

Yao Lao stroked his beard and nodded with a gentle smile. ”There’s no need to be overly formal, young one.”

”With Saint Yao residing here from now on, you disciples are truly blessed,” Feng Zun Zhe said with a hearty chuckle, stroking his beard.

Buzz—

As soon as he said that, Mu Qingluan’s mind went completely blank, her head buzzing as she stood there frozen in shock.

”Saint Yao!?”

Dou Sheng? Heavens!

Mu Qingluan was completely dumbfounded.

”The former Yao Zun Zhe has now advanced to the Dou Sheng realm — naturally, that makes him the Saint Yao,” Feng Zun Zhe added with a wink.

Upon hearing that, Mu Qingluan’s heart surged with waves of astonishment.

Back then, the name ”Yao Zun Zhe” was one known by every soul in Central Plains — a legend known far and wide. She had even heard her teacher mention him several times before.

But she never expected that she would actually meet him one day — and that he would have already become the Saint Yao.

However, Feng Zun Zhe clearly had no intention of letting his disciple recover from the shock. He stepped aside, smiling as he pointed toward Wei Yang and Xiao Yan behind him.

”These two are the Pavilion Master’s disciples — and from this day forth, they will also be the Young Pavilion Masters of our Falling Star Pavilion.

This is Xiao Yan — you’ve met him before. And this is Wei Yang — I believe you’ve at least heard his name, haven’t you?”

At that, Mu Qingluan’s bright eyes flickered, her gaze turning toward Wei Yang and Xiao Yan as she lightly nodded.

Heard of them? It would be an understatement — their names had been ringing throughout the Central Plains for the past two years.

Wei Yang and Xiao Yan — the dual champions of the last Pill Gathering, both five-colored Tier 8 Alchemy Grandmasters. How could she not have heard of them?

Xiao Yan smiled gently. ”Miss Mu, it’s been a long time.”

He had met Mu Qingluan briefly back when he first arrived in Central Plains.

Years had passed since then, yet Mu Qingluan looked almost exactly the same. She had always possessed a doll-like face. Though she appeared to be a young girl on the surface, she had looked just the same several years ago.

”Qingluan greets the two Young Pavilion Masters.” Mu Qingluan bowed respectfully.

”Miss Mu, there’s no need for such formality,” Wei Yang and Xiao Yan both said, motioning for her to rise with a light gesture.

”Alright, we’ve been on the road for quite some time — everyone must be tired. Let’s get settled first, we can get familiar with things later,” Yao Lao said with a smile, glancing at the two little ones behind him who were fast asleep in their mothers’ arms.

He waved his hand gently. After all, the adults could handle exhaustion, but after more than half a month of travel, the children certainly couldn’t.

”Follow me,” Feng Zun Zhe said with a smile, leading the way forward.

Yao Chen’s group’s arrival undoubtedly made the Falling Star Pavilion unusually lively.

For this mysterious Pavilion Master who had only existed in legend, even the disciples and some of the elders of Falling Star Pavilion were filled with curiosity and unfamiliarity.

For all these years, Falling Star Pavilion had practically been built up single-handedly by Feng Zun Zhe, yet even so, he had always kept the Pavilion Master’s position vacant, never once attempting to sit upon it himself.

Because he had always believed that Yao Chen would one day return to Falling Star Pavilion — and that seat had always been left for him. This day, as he had expected, finally arrived.

Thus, on the second day after settling down, he gathered all the disciples and elders of Falling Star Pavilion and announced the return of their Pavilion Master. At the same time, two young Pavilion Masters also returned together.

Such a sudden development undoubtedly caused great shock throughout Falling Star Pavilion. In the past, the entire Pavilion had always been led by Feng Zun Zhe. Now, the leader had suddenly changed.

Naturally, everyone felt a little unaccustomed at first. Fortunately, this unfamiliar feeling didn’t last long before it was replaced by a different kind of excitement. After all — this returning Pavilion Master was a Dou Sheng!

What more could they ask for?

Those two young Pavilion Masters were no simple figures either — both were champions of the current Pill Gathering and five-colored Tier 8 Alchemy Grandmasters.

The elders were especially overjoyed.

With these three presiding over Falling Star Pavilion, how could the Pavilion not flourish?

In the past, within the entire Pavilion, only Feng Zun Zhe was a Dou Zun powerhouse. Now, not only had a whole group of Dou Zun arrived, but even a Dou Sheng had joined them!

Instantly, the entire Falling Star Pavilion was in an uproar; everyone’s faces were filled with joy and celebration. Seeing this, Yao Lao could only give a helpless smile. However, this time, he did not refuse any further.

After all that had happened over the years, he had come to understand — unless one’s personal strength had truly reached an absolutely invincible level, a single person could never fully compare to the power of an organization.

Back then, he had suffered precisely because he was too solitary, too carefree, which allowed the Hall of Souls to seize the chance and strike from the shadows. Moreover, now he could no longer be considered alone.

He had disciples, grand-disciples, and even the disciples’ families and followers — a whole crowd who needed a stable home. Otherwise, it wouldn’t do to keep relying on others for a place to stay.

A home — you might not always live in it, but you must have one. That’s simply how it is. Seeing that Yao Lao no longer tried to decline, Feng Zun Zhe finally breathed a sigh of relief.

In his heart, he had always believed that Falling Star Pavilion belonged to Yao Lao. All these years, he had merely been managing it on his behalf. Now that Yao Lao had returned, naturally, the Pavilion should be handed back to him.

The two of them were already bound by life-and-death friendship. For Yao Lao’s sake, Feng Zun Zhe had searched tirelessly for so many years — what was a mere Pavilion Master’s position in comparison?

Moreover, he knew Yao Lao’s temperament well. Yao Lao disliked and was not good at administration. His two disciples, Wei Yang and Xiao Yan, clearly didn’t care much for handling such trivial affairs either.

To put it plainly — the master and disciples were all the carefree, hands-off type. So, in the end, it would still be up to him to manage the Pavilion’s internal affairs.

Under Feng Zun Zhe’s arrangements, Xian’er and the others were also each given elder positions within Falling Star Pavilion. Including Ah Da, Du Jiao, and Xiong Zhan — all of them received the same appointments.

Naturally, Tian Huo Zun Zhe and Tie Jian Zun Zhe were no exceptions; they too officially joined Falling Star Pavilion. Even Zi Yan, that little girl, managed to secure herself an honorary guest elder title, grinning from ear to ear.
