**

The sky stretched vast and blue, unmarred by even a single cloud. It was so clear that it looked like an enormous sapphire mirror hanging over the world, pure and flawless.

Whoosh!

The stillness of the heavens was suddenly split by a sharp sonic boom.

A vast streak of violet-black light shot across the sky, tearing through the air with a thunderous gale that rippled through the clouds.

As it drew nearer, its shape became clear — it was a gigantic, single-horned serpent, its body stretching for dozens of zhang, its scales gleaming with a dark, metallic sheen. Atop its massive head sat several figures — none other than Wei Yang, Xiao Yan, and their companions.

This time, the group heading toward the Beast Region’s ancient ruins consisted of six people: Wei Yang, Xiao Yan, Ah Da, Qing Lin, Zi Yan, and Du Jiao.

Such a lineup could be considered extremely powerful. Though they couldn’t claim to walk sideways through the Beast Region unhindered, it was more than enough that few would dare provoke them.

The Beast Region — one of the most peculiar and dangerous regions of the Dou Qi Continent.

Here, nearly seventy percent of all magic beast clans were gathered. This vast and boundless land belonged to the magic beasts.

It was the domain of the beast races, and among them ruled the Three Great Clans of the Beast Region — the Heaven Demon Phoenix Clan, the Nine Serene Deep Ground Python Clan, and the Ancient Void Dragon Clan.

The internal hierarchy of the Beast Region was extremely strict.

A powerful beast clan often had countless vassal clans beneath it. These subordinate clans, in turn, could have their own lesser affiliates, forming a deeply intricate web of dominance and submission.

It was, in essence, a towering pyramid of bloodlines and power. Thus, even when encountering a weaker clan within the Beast Region, one needed to tread carefully.

After all — offend a small clan, and a larger one might come after you. Offend the large clan, and their ancestors or allied clans could appear next. Strike down the young, and the old would arrive; defeat the old, and the ancient would descend.

It was an endless cycle — troublesome beyond measure.

Every clan that survived in this land had strength or backing — often both. Unless one possessed absolute might, the only wise choice here was to stay low-profile.

Magic beasts valued bloodline above all else. To them, bloodline determined everything — status, right to rule, and even worthiness to live. They lived by the simplest, most primal law of nature: the law of the jungle.

If you were stronger, others would submit to you.

Simple. Direct. Brutal. No hypocrisy, no hidden schemes.

It was this purity that gave the Beast Region its unique character and order. Though human factions also had hierarchies and branches, they were far less structured and infinitely more complicated — for human hearts were far more treacherous than beast instincts.

Among the three great clans, the Nine Serene Deep Ground Python Clan possessed the largest number of vassal clans. They were vast in numbers, with branches sprawling across the continent.

Yet, such abundance came at a cost — their once-proud bloodline had grown increasingly diluted over generations. Still, their collective strength was terrifying. They remained one of the three most powerful clans of the Beast Region — a force no one dared underestimate.

The Heaven Demon Phoenix Clan, however, took the opposite path. They enforced their bloodline purity with extreme, almost fanatical rigor. Even in death, a Heaven Demon Phoenix’s remains — bones, blood essence, or magic core — must be returned to their clan’s sacred grounds.

If an outsider ever obtained the corpse or blood of a Heaven Demon Phoenix, they would face two choices: Return it voluntarily — or face endless pursuit from the clan.

As for the final of the three — the Ancient Void Dragon Clan —

They were the most mysterious of all. Aloof and transcendent, they stood above the world, disinterested in the affairs of others. No one had ever heard of them maintaining subordinate clans. Not because they couldn’t — but because they didn’t care to.

If they ever did express such interest, countless powerful clans would likely rush forward willingly, eager to kneel and swear allegiance.

They were that far above the rest.

Unlike clans such as the Heaven Demon Phoenix Clan and the Nine Serene Deep Ground Python Clan, which clawed their way up over time, the Ancient VOid Dragon Clan had been the undisputed sovereign of all magic beasts since ancient times.

From the ancient era to the present, they had always stood at the pinnacle of the Beast Region.

The Heaven Demon Phoenix Clan of today were merely descendants carrying the bloodline of the Ancient Heavenly Phoenix. In terms of true antiquity, they were far inferior to the Ancient Void Dragons.

As for the true Ancient Heavenly Phoenix, it no longer existed in this world. In the ancient era, the Heavenly Phoenix had been one of the few peak beings capable of standing on equal footing with the Ancient Void Dragons—the supreme rulers of all beasts.

Of course, within the Beast Region, there were still a few extremely low-key yet noble bloodlines that had been passed down from ancient times.

Though such clans were few in number, their strength was overwhelmingly powerful. Even the three top magic beast clans were unwilling to provoke them lightly.

For example, the Seven-Colored Heaven Swallowing Python that evolved from Medusa, and the ultimate Nine-Colored Heaven Swallowing Python. Or beings like Xiong Zhan, a descendant of the Ancient Dragon Bear—whose final evolution was the Ultimate Demon Bear, and so on.

All of these belonged to clans of extreme rarity—sometimes with only a handful of individuals—but each one possessed terrifying power.

High above the sky—

Whoosh~

Du Jiao beneath them carried Wei Yang and the others as it shot across the heavens like a falling star. The violent wind blowing head-on was blocked by an invisible barrier, leaving the people sitting within completely unaffected.

Holding a small jade bottle, Zi Yan wore a look of pure delight. Every now and then, she poured out a pill and popped it into her mouth like a candy bean, chewing with little smacking sounds, her eyes squinting into crescent shapes from happiness. She looked utterly carefree.

Zi Yan was easy to please. As long as she had a bottle of delicious-tasting pills, she could be coaxed into doing almost anything.

Originally, she hadn’t been very willing to come to the Beast Region this time, but after Wei Yang presented her with a bottle of specially refined pills, she was sweet-talked and tricked into tagging along with a grin.

Wei Yang glanced at the silly girl and couldn’t help but shake his head with a small smile. The reason Zi Yan had been so resistant to coming here was obvious—she was afraid of being taken back by her clan.

The Beast Region was where the greatest number of magic beast clans gathered on the Dou Qi Continent. Naturally, the home of the Ancient Void Dragon Clan was also here.

Although it was hidden deep within the void, there were surely certain bloodline connections among their kind. After all, this girl had once relied on such bloodline resonance to return to her clan alone.

This time, she had snuck out, so it was natural for her to feel guilty—afraid of being caught and dragged back by those old monsters of her clan. But what she didn’t know was—

Wei Yang narrowed his eyes slightly, his soul perception quietly sweeping through the surrounding void, yet he found nothing. Still, he knew very well that somewhere in the shadows, an Elder of the Ancient Void Dragon Clan was secretly following them.

Their concealment was simply too profound—no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t detect a trace. However, that faint sense of being watched in the dark was unmistakable. He had already felt it several times.

As expected of the Ancient Void Dragons—their ability to roam the void was simply terrifying. Once they hid in the deeper layers of space, even if you knew they were tailing you, finding them was nearly impossible.

”Brother Wei, what’s wrong?” Xiao Yan, sensing Wei Yang’s soul probing the surroundings, opened his eyes and glanced around before asking softly.

”Nothing.” Wei Yang shook his head slightly, not saying more.

Seeing that, Xiao Yan didn’t press further. He instead looked toward the distant horizon and murmured, ”We’re almost at the Beast Region. This place is far more complicated than Central Plains. With so many powers gathering here this time, these waters are going to be... very muddy.”

”That’s exactly why it’s interesting. If it weren’t so complicated, I’d have just taken the whole place for myself.” Wei Yang narrowed his eyes and spoke lightly.

There was a hint of regret in his tone. There were so many good things there, after all. He really wanted to imitate that charming old ancestor and shout—”They’re all mine!”

”Uh... take the whole place?” Hearing that, Xiao Yan’s eyelids twitched violently, nearly jumping in fright.

That... wouldn’t end well.

If he actually tried to take over everything, it wouldn’t just be offending everyone—it’d be pure suicide. Getting ganged up on would be the best-case scenario.

”Just kidding. But the Soul Baby Fruit—we must get it. Whoever dares to snatch it from us... dies.” Wei Yang said flatly.

”Agreed. The Soul Baby Fruit—must be ours.” Xiao Yan took a deep breath and nodded firmly.

After all—

With their lineup, if they couldn’t even secure a single Soul Baby Fruit, it’d be a complete joke.
