Wei Mansion.

Morning sunlight spilled down like a golden mist, coating the entire mansion in a faint layer of warm gold.

Laughter and cheerful voices filled the garden.

On the grass, Zi Yan was playing with the two little ones.

Not far away, beneath the shade of a willow tree, Wei Yang and the others sat behind a low table, drinking tea, nibbling on pastries, and chatting casually.

After leaving seclusion from the Star Region, the two had decided to take a couple of days off to relax. At this moment, Wei Yang leaned lazily against his chair, eyes half-closed as he watched his son and daughter.

The two little ones were now a little over four years old.

In another two years, it would almost be time to start teaching them cultivation. Recently, he had been planning to research some techniques and personally create two suitable cultivation techniques to build a solid foundation for them.

With Wei Yang’s current realm, spending a bit of effort to create two Low-Level Earth Grade cultivation techniques wasn’t exactly a difficult task.

For Wei Ye, who needed a yang-attribute cultivation technique, there was no problem. After all, yang-attribute was Wei Yang’s specialty.

However, for Wei Shuo, who required a yin-yang attribute cultivation technique, things were a bit trickier. That would take more careful study and experimentation. He wasn’t lacking in yin-attribute cultivation techniques either.

The real challenge was figuring out how to merge yin and yang techniques into one, achieving a perfect balance — something that would take multiple trials to perfect.

Beside him, Yao Lao sat with a wide smile that made his wrinkled face bloom like a chrysanthemum. His eyes never strayed from the two little ones, filled with affection and the unmistakable love of an elder.

He stroked his beard lightly, looking completely content. After all the hardships he had gone through, such peaceful days were truly hard-earned blessings for Yao Lao.

For the past year, he had been enjoying the pleasures of playing with his grand-disciples — and he found endless joy in it. Now that his disciple had achieved greatness and no longer needed his guidance, his attention had shifted to teaching his two precious little grand-disciples.

When it came to education, he was, in his own words, ”a professional — no objections accepted.” His record spoke for itself. Even his old friends, the ”Three Great Leaders,” had to admit defeat.

Double championship — who else could compare?

Every time he thought about it, Yao Lao couldn’t help but feel smug. Of course, he never mentioned Han Feng — that disgraceful blemish in his teaching record.

”Hmph, that old rascal Xuan Kongzi still dares to try and compete with me?” Yao Lao snorted inwardly, twirling his graying beard with a cold smirk.

These two grand-disciples were monstrous geniuses, absolutely extraordinary seedlings. How could he possibly allow that old geezer Xuan Kongzi to get a piece of the pie? What if he ended up teaching them the wrong way?

Just look at Song Qing — what a disaster that one turned out to be!

Then there was that old hag Xuan Yi, who had recently set her eyes on Wei Shuo. Lately, she’d been showing up at the mansion every other day, with or without an excuse. Thinking about it made Yao Lao’s face darken.

Damn it, all these shameless old people had their eyes on his precious grand-disciples.

They even had the nerve to say that since the two children were born in Holy Pill City, and their father was a Pill Tower candidate for the Pill Tower Council, the kids should be considered members of their Pill Tower.

Utter nonsense.

The more he thought about it, the angrier he got.

Truly intolerable!

He was so furious that even when he slept, he kept one eye half-open, afraid someone might sneak in and kidnap his beloved little ones.

”I’ve got to move back to Falling Star Pavilion soon,” he muttered, feeling a growing sense of urgency.

As the saying goes — you don’t fear the thief stealing, you fear the thief thinking about it. Living on edge like this wasn’t sustainable.

He needed to fully recover his body and move back to Falling Star Pavilion. He’d had enough of Holy Pill City — not one more day if he could help it.

”Phew, taking care of kids is exhausting, it’s killing me!” Zi Yan came running over, panting and complaining as she plopped herself down, grabbed a teacup, and gulped down the contents in one go.

Everyone couldn’t help but laugh.

Despite her dramatic whining, the hint of pride between her brows completely betrayed her. She clearly enjoyed her role as the ”big sister.” If anyone dared try to take that title from her, she’d fight them without hesitation.

Now, the two little ones followed her everywhere — like two tiny tails. No matter where Zi Yan went, they’d happily trail right behind her. There was no shaking them off.

Sure enough—

”Sister Zi Yan, I want some water too!”

”Thirsty, I want some too.”

The two little ones called out in their childish voices.

”Nope, get your own cups and pour it yourselves.” Zi Yan huffed, grumbling as she drank her tea with loud gulps.

”Come here, you two.” Yao Lao had already prepared some warm water, even adding a drop of extremely pure medicinal liquid into it. Smiling kindly, he waved them over.

The two little ones hurriedly ran over with quick little steps.

”Little Guy, Sweetie, drink slowly, don’t choke, alright?” Yao Lao chuckled, his eyes narrowing into fine slits from the smile.

At the side, Xiao Yan watched with a hint of envy. He glanced at Wei Yang, who looked half-asleep, leaned over, and playfully patted him. ”Hey, Brother Wei, I think we’ve been replaced.”

Wei Yang barely lifted an eyelid, turned over, and ignored him.

”Haha.” Seeing that, everyone burst into laughter.

Even the usually stoic Tie Jian Zun Zhe couldn’t help but reveal a faint smile that wasn’t quite so unpleasant for once.

”Mr. Yao, looks like your disciple is jealous.” Tian Huo Zun Zhe stroked his beard teasingly.

Yao Lao rolled his eyes at Xiao Yan, not in the mood to entertain him, and went right back to coaxing the two little ones to drink. Xiao Yan could only shrug helplessly. As the saying went, grandparents dote on their grandchildren more than their own children — it was true after all.

Now that he had grand-disciples, what use were disciples anymore? They didn’t seem nearly as precious.

He couldn’t help but envy those two little ones. They were truly bathed in endless affection. Clicking his tongue, Xiao Yan thought back to his own younger days.

Sigh, best not to mention it.

As the atmosphere filled with warmth and laughter—

”Haha, everyone’s here, what’s got you all so happy?”

At that moment, Feng Zun Zhe walked over from afar, looking slightly travel-worn. His hearty laughter arrived before he did. ”Oh? Wei Yang and Xiao Yan have come out of seclusion?”

”Elder Feng.” Everyone greeted with smiles.

Qing Lin quickly put down her needlework and swiftly poured him some tea.

Feng Zun Zhe sat down on a cushion, accepted the cup from Qing Lin, thanked her, then said with a grin, ”I went back to the Falling Star Pavilion for a bit to arrange some matters there.”

”No problems over there, right?” Xiao Yan asked with concern.

”No, nothing. The Hall of Souls hasn’t caused any trouble.” Feng Zun Zhe waved his hand. ”Before I left, I told them to activate the grand formation and temporarily seal the pavilion.”

”That’s good to hear. Seems the Hall of Souls really knows how to hold themselves back.” Xiao Yan sneered. ”I thought since they couldn’t come after us, they’d vent their anger on Falling Star Pavilion.”

”They’re probably worried we’d set up an ambush, so they’re being extra cautious, not daring to act recklessly.” Tie Jian Zun Zhe said calmly.

”Most likely.” Everyone nodded.

Right now, the Hall of Souls was probably somewhat afraid. After all, they had suffered too many losses — each one heavier than the last — enough to make them far more cautious.

”Brother Wei’s final move in the Death Soul Mountain Range last time — Ten Sun Destruction — must have really blown them up badly.” Xiao Yan said, a bit gloatingly.

Everyone turned to look at Wei Yang with amusement. They could still vividly recall that moment when they retreated to the outskirts of the Death Soul Mountain Range, looked back, and saw a massive black mushroom cloud slowly rising into the sky.

Even from such a distance, they could still feel the terrifying force radiating from it. That kind of power — it was truly capable of destroying heaven and earth. It felt as if the entire Death Soul Mountain Range was trembling.

Just imagining that scene was enough to tell what miserable fate had befallen the Hall of Souls forces. After going through that, it was no surprise the Hall of Souls had been scared stiff.

That kind of massive explosion — at least at the Dou Zun level — whether high-level, peak, or even Nine Change stage, there weren’t many who could confidently take it head-on. Under such circumstances, who would still dare to rush forward and seek death?

”Elder Feng, did you find anything useful on this trip?” Xiao Yan asked with a hint of anticipation.

Wei Yang also sat up a bit straighter, his gaze turning toward him. Everyone else looked at Feng Zun Zhe as well. This trip of his had been to seek rare medicinal herbs that could help restore Yao Lao’s soul.
