Global Flood: I Survive on Duckweed

Chapter 351: Chapter 214: Imparting the Teachings, A Great Vessel Needs No Forging

”About six or seven meters!” Jianghu replied.

”What a huge advantage!” Lin Mu exclaimed. ”I can only manage about two meters right now!”

Jianghu smiled and reassured him, ”Your strength is your knowledge of plants. You don’t need to be that powerful!”

Lin Mu shook his head slightly. ”The leader isn’t lacking in botanical knowledge!”

When it came to the plants at the base, Ren Yuanyang knew them all extremely well—even better than Lin Mu, a professional botanist.

And as for the plants that Ren Yuanyang had personally enhanced, Lin Mu’s understanding couldn’t even begin to compare!

”Don’t worry, the leader has a million things to do. He still needs you to take charge in this area,” Jianghu replied with a smile.

Lin Mu nodded slightly, then sighed. ”Alas, when you’re not strong enough, you can’t help but feel like your position is insecure.”

Ren Yuanyang overheard their quiet conversation.

He pondered for a moment before standing up. Looking at all the members eating on the yacht, he began, ”Everyone here is a core member of our Peach Blossom Base. To rapidly increase everyone’s Mental Energy, I will be teaching a Cultivation Technique. I will hold two sessions a day, one from 5 a.m. to 7 a.m. and another from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. The content will be the same for both, so feel free to choose whichever time slot works for you!”

Everyone was stunned by his words.

Lu Jiamei and the original group were surprised that the leader was going to teach the Cultivation Technique to newcomers like Lin Mu and Si Youqin.

As for Lin Mu and the others, their surprise stemmed from the fact that the leader even had a Cultivation Technique in the first place!

”A Cultivation Technique? You mean, like the kind you use for immortal Cultivation?”

”Are we about to embark on the path of Cultivation?”

”The leader is incredible! How did he even get his hands on something like this?!”

After the initial shock wore off, a buzz of discussion erupted among the group.

”The Cultivation Technique we found was derived from traditional Daoist Scriptures of the Dragon Country,” Ren Yuanyang continued. ”I don’t know if it’s the kind of technique used for immortal Cultivation, but it can definitely increase our Mental Energy. The first lesson will be tonight. It is limited only to those of you on this yacht. Do not, under any circumstances, share this with outsiders!”

”Rest assured, leader! We will never breathe a word of it!” everyone responded in excited unison.

”Alright, let’s eat,” Ren Yuanyang said, sitting back down.

Qin Haonan sounded a bit exasperated. ”Leader, are you rolling it out already? I haven’t even learned it myself...”

”Consider it a little pressure to motivate you,” Ren Yuanyang replied with a smile. ”Our base has a lot of people now, including some Evolver captives. We need to raise everyone’s Mental Energy. It’ll be safer to manage those Evolvers that way.”

Hua Lingfang nodded in agreement. ”That’s right. They probably won’t resist, but we should always be on our guard.”

Seeing the dejected look on Qin Haonan’s face, Lu Jiamei tried to comfort him. ”Haonan, don’t worry. Even if you never manage to learn it, the leader won’t give up on you!”

Qin Haonan froze for a second, then rolled his eyes. ”With comforting words like that, you’re just making me want to cry!”

”I doubt you’ll *never* learn it. If you study hard, you’ll definitely get it,” Ren Yuanyang added. ”It’s just that if you don’t understand the scriptures, your progress will always be suboptimal.”

”I’ll be sure to listen carefully and study hard!” Qin Haonan said, his eyes filled with determination.

By eight o’clock that evening, everyone except for those on patrol duty had gathered in the yacht’s main lounge.

Ren Yuanyang began his lecture right on time, with Qin Haonan sitting in the front row.

Ten minutes later, Qin Haonan started to doze off. Ren Yuanyang made a grasping motion with his hand, and a vine whip materialized in his palm. The next instant, it cracked across Qin Haonan’s back.

”Ouch! Hiss...”

Qin Haonan cried out in pain, instantly wide awake.

Hua Lingfang and her group couldn’t help but crack a smile, while Lin Mu and the others had to stifle their laughter.

”Everyone, pay attention. Understanding this material will enhance your Cultivation,” Ren Yuanyang said in a stern voice.

”Yes, leader!” they all replied.

For the rest of the lecture, the sound of a whip cracking periodically echoed through the room.

CRACK! CRACK! CRACK!

Everyone else was listening intently; only Qin Haonan was stuck in an endless cycle of dozing off and being jolted awake.

”Now we will move on to the specific Cultivation Technique,” Ren Yuanyang said, rapping his knuckles on the table in front of Qin Haonan to wake him again.

Once he moved on to the practical application, Ren Yuanyang was surprised to find that Qin Haonan didn’t get drowsy again. Instead, he diligently followed Ren Yuanyang’s guidance and began to practice.

’So he’s a hands-on learner!’ Ren Yuanyang thought with some surprise.

He guided them through one cycle of the Cultivation Technique, then asked, ”How did it go? Was anyone successful?”

One by one, they all shook their heads. Just then, a timid voice spoke up.

”I think... I did it?”

Hearing Qin Haonan’s utterly unconfident voice, everyone froze.

’Qin Haonan, the one who was lagging behind everyone else, was the first one to successfully execute the Cultivation Technique?’

Ren Yuanyang was taken aback. ”You really completed a full cycle?”

Qin Haonan nodded. ”I think so!”

”Run through it one more time. Let me feel it,” Ren Yuanyang said gravely.

Qin Haonan immediately did as requested, beginning the Cultivation. He quickly completed one full cycle.

Ren Yuanyang was amazed to find that Qin Haonan really could execute it successfully.

”Excellent! Haonan has learned it. The rest of you, keep up the good work!” Ren Yuanyang said with a smile.

At these words, Qin Haonan was overjoyed. ”I actually learned it!”

”Haonan, are you playing dumb?” Xin Wan was speechless. ”You slept through the entire lecture, but the moment we get to the practical part, you master it instantly?”

”I thought it would take Minister Qin several days to learn this, but he succeeded with the Cultivation Technique on his first try! He’s a genius! I thought I was listening pretty well, but the moment I tried it myself, I was useless!” Jianghu shook his head. ”It turns out I’m the clown.”
