Global Flood: I Survive on Duckweed

Chapter 352: Chapter 214: Preaching and Teaching, a Genius Unmade

”Alright, everyone, follow the Guiding I just showed you and keep trying!” Ren Yuanyang clapped his hands, encouraging everyone to continue their attempts at Cultivation.

Qin Haonan, on the other hand, was looking smug. Ren Yuanyang reminded him, ”Since you can’t seem to understand the rest of the scriptures, the gains from your Cultivation might not be as great as others. You’ll just have to cultivate more diligently!”

”Leader, are you saying that hard work can make up for a lack of talent?” Qin Haonan asked curiously.

Ren Yuanyang paused for a moment. ’That was exactly what I meant.’

”Yes. Keep up the good work!”

Qin Haonan nodded earnestly and then began to focus on his Cultivation.

When the two hours were up, more than half of the group still hadn’t managed to successfully run the Cultivation Technique.

”Don’t worry, everyone. Take your time. We’ll continue tomorrow morning!” Ren Yuanyang said, looking at the group.

”Yes!” everyone replied in unison.

”Everyone, go back and get some rest,” Ren Yuanyang said.

Lin Mu and two others left the yacht, while the rest returned to their small cabins to rest.

Qin Haonan, however, was incredibly excited. He had only cultivated for a short while during the lesson, but his Mental Energy had already increased by more than a centimeter. Previously, even when frequently using his Mental Energy, the most he could increase it in a day was ten centimeters.

”Leader, this Cultivation Technique increases Mental Energy so fast!” Qin Haonan couldn’t help but exclaim.

”Getting a taste of the rewards now, are we? Before, telling you to study those scriptures was like pulling teeth!” Ren Yuanyang said with a glance.

”Leader, it’s not that I don’t want to learn, I swear. It’s just that I get sleepy the moment I open a book!” Qin Haonan said with a sense of resignation.

”I’ve noticed. Still, it’s good enough that you can learn the Cultivation Technique. Since you can’t grasp the deeper concepts, just focus on practicing more,” Ren Yuanyang replied with a nod.

”Yes, sir!” Qin Haonan responded.

’Some people don’t come into this world just to learn,’ he thought. ’Perhaps they bear other missions.’

Ren Yuanyang had never believed that before, but now, he was starting to.

’Given how much Haonan respects me, he wouldn’t dare to fall asleep on purpose during my lecture. He really can’t help himself!’

’Some great talents are simply born, not made. It’s really true!’

’True prodigies have it in their DNA. Hard work helps a little, but not much!’

’That’s why the saying goes: hard work is worthless in the face of true talent!’

’Most people are ordinary. With enough effort, they can live a slightly better life of drudgery, but to truly break free from it is nearly impossible.’

Qin Haonan returned to his room and continued his Cultivation. ’I might be useless at memorizing and understanding those scriptures,’ he thought, ’but I have to work harder at my Cultivation!’

That night, Qin Haonan cultivated instead of sleeping. When he awoke from his meditative state at five in the morning, he didn’t feel the slightest bit of fatigue. Instead, he felt completely refreshed and full of energy!

’Looks like I’ll be using my nights for Cultivation from now on,’ Qin Haonan muttered to himself before heading out.

Ren Yuanyang gave his lecture twice a day. Even though the content was identical for both sessions, Qin Haonan planned to attend every single one, hoping he might one day understand a little more of the scriptures.

In fact, it wasn’t just Qin Haonan. As long as they didn’t have an urgent mission, the others also came to listen to Ren Yuanyang’s lecture.

Ren Yuanyang lectured methodically for forty minutes before once again Guiding everyone in their Cultivation.

This time, Xin Wan was right beside Qin Haonan. She had failed to successfully run the Cultivation Technique yesterday, but during today’s Guiding, she finally succeeded.

The surrounding Fire-Type Elements immediately surged toward her.

Just then, Qin Haonan suddenly exclaimed, ”What’s happening?”

Everyone turned to look at him, confused.

”What is it?” Ren Yuanyang asked, his voice low and his brow furrowed.

”I was cultivating just fine, but I suddenly noticed that the amount of Gold-Type Element in the area has dropped drastically!” Qin Haonan replied, his own face a mask of confusion.
