Elevator Survival: Master of Every Floor

New Year’s EveDays passed, and soon it was New Year’s Eve.

On this day, Qin An’s home was especially lively; besides Qin An and his fiancée, Lin Feng and Luo Yin were also there.

Qin An’s parents were very familiar with Lin Feng, and Xia Ruo had also met the two elders a few times, so the conversation quickly focused entirely on Luo Yin.

They initially thought Luo Yin was Lin Feng’s girlfriend or something, but then Luo Yin called Lin Feng ’Boss,’ and with Lin Feng’s emphasis, they didn’t ask further.

However, during dinner on New Year’s Eve, Qin An’s parents still looked at Luo Yin with the eyes of prospective in-laws, constantly adding food to her plate and praising her beauty and elegance.

This made Luo Yin, who was already a bit socially anxious, wish she could crawl under the table.

After dinner, Qin An’s father turned on the TV to broadcast the Spring Festival Gala and took the opportunity to learn more about the Survival World from Qin An.

Upon learning of the dangers within, the two elders couldn’t help but marvel at Lin Feng and Qin An’s luck in being able to return alive from such a place.

”Anzi, now that you have Xiao Ruo, you can’t run away from home and venture abroad like you did before. You must live a good life from now on, understand?” Qin An’s mother said earnestly.

When Qin An had run away from home without warning and cut off all contact, it had terrified them. They only relaxed after Qin An contacted them proactively and sent money home every month.

They also asked Qin An where he had gone and where he got so much money.

To these questions, Qin An only said that he was doing finance with friends abroad and had made a lot of money, and he would return home once he had enough.

He didn’t mention at all that he was actually a mercenary in the Middle East.

Later, Qin An returned to China, entered university as a bodyguard, and then met Lin Feng.

Because Lin Feng was an orphan, Qin An’s parents treated him like a half-son.

That’s why they looked at Luo Yin with the feeling of a father-in-law looking at his daughter-in-law.

”Don’t worry, Mom, your son is now a government official, a very important one. Even the mayor has to show me respect. I’ll definitely live a good life from now on.”

”That’s good. What about Lin Feng? What is he doing now?” Qin An’s mother turned and asked.

”Me? I have nothing to do.” Lin Feng shrugged, saying it with a sense of honor.

He expected Qin An’s mother to lecture him, but to his surprise, she slapped Qin An on the head.

”You brat! You’re such a high-ranking official, yet you don’t know to arrange a good job for Lin Feng. Are you getting too big for your britches?!”

”Mom! I’m your biological son!!! Besides, Lin Feng... he... never mind. Anyway, Lin Feng isn’t short on money, and if he wants power, he can get it easily.”

After saying this, Qin An frantically hinted at Lin Feng with his eyes, otherwise, he estimated he’d be spending New Year’s Eve on the balcony with the stars and moonlight.

”Uh, Anzi is right. I really don’t lack money, and Anzi did invite me to join their department, but I refused. I really don’t feel like working.”

Hearing Lin Feng’s words, Qin An’s mother finally nodded and let go of Qin An’s ear.

Qin An also feigned a few painful cries to go along with it, though there wasn’t even a mark on his ear.

”Alright, you’ve all grown up, and now you’re some kind of superpower users. Your future major life decisions are up to you...”

Qin An’s mother continued to ramble on about various things, even Qin An’s father, who was watching the Spring Festival Gala, couldn’t listen anymore. He coaxed and tricked her into changing the subject, and the group started playing cards.

Since Luo Yin didn’t know how to play, she acted as Lin Feng’s little assistant, constantly feeding him fruits, melon seeds, and peanuts.

They thought this New Year’s Eve would pass uneventfully, but then a sudden anomaly occurred.

Yan City suddenly experienced a violent tremor, and this situation occurred in various regions worldwide, not just Yan City. Initially, everyone thought it was a normal earthquake, but unexpectedly, a massive crack suddenly appeared at the epicenter of the tremor.

A faint blue light appeared on the surface of the crack, illuminating the night.

Many people near the crack took photos and posted them on various platforms. After the crack appeared, the tremors also disappeared.

Soon after, Qin An’s phone rang.

After a few short sentences, Qin An anxiously grabbed his car keys, preparing to leave.

”What’s wrong?” Qin An’s father asked.

”A blue-glowing crack appeared in downtown Yan City. I need to go check it out.”

”I’ll go too.” With that, Lin Feng also stood up. Since Xia Ruo was also a member of the Non-Affairs Bureau, she naturally had to go along. Luo Yin, as Lin Feng’s little follower, would be wherever Lin Feng was.

Suddenly, the house became quiet again.

...............

”Lin Feng, you must have seen that crack, right?” Inside the car, Qin An asked.

”Yes, that’s not a simple crack. You probably can’t handle it.”

”Infinite Space’s doing?”

”That’s right.” Lin Feng nodded. He had just tried to use his divine sense to penetrate the crack for investigation but was blocked. He finally managed to investigate the situation beneath the crack only by using Law Power.

This crack was a teleportation gate; entering it would transport one to another artificially created small world.

As expected, the small world behind the crack was created by Infinite Space.

As for the purpose, Lin Feng quickly saw it: a large number of unknown creatures crawled out of the crack, some flying like pterodactyls, and many six-legged, dog-like land creatures, all red, emerged from it.

This scene was playing out all over the world. Lin Feng directly enveloped Blue Star with his divine sense and counted 122 cracks in total.

”Good heavens, I wondered why there hadn’t been any movement for so long. Turns out they were brewing something big for me.”

The monsters beneath the crack were countless; the entire small world was filled, and the first thing these monsters did upon emerging was to eat people.

”Still too passive,” Lin Feng sighed. Every time, they could only react after Infinite Space made a move, and even Lin Feng couldn’t find where Infinite Space’s consciousness was located right now.

Fortunately, the monsters that crawled out were not very powerful; even ordinary thermal weapons could kill them, so they didn’t cause too much damage to the city.

Soon, armed police and military forces sealed off the crack area.

Qin An also led the other Seekers to assist in killing the monsters that crawled out.

Lin Feng, however, felt something strange. Infinite Space suddenly created these things as if to attract their attention.

Wait! Feinting?

Could Infinite Space be planning something big? Lin Feng thought to himself.
