Capítulo 1173: Chapter 1207: Outsmarting Huo Lianqin

“The Butterfly Gang is something many sisters exchanged their lives, even their blood, to build. If you’re going to give away everyone’s expectations for you to just any man, do you think it’s worth it? Can you face our eight hundred sisters of the Butterfly Gang?”

Huo Lianqin grew more agitated as she spoke, clearly anticipating this moment for a long time.

From the time she attacked Lin Zifeng, she’d carefully considered every consequence, even thought through every detail.

“So you’re saying it’s me, Zhang Mengjie, who ruined the Butterfly Gang?”

“Yes! That’s right.” Huo Lianqin knew her move had worked and was satisfied with its success. “The reason I attacked him is because I don’t want our Butterfly Gang to become a puppet of his Nantian Gang. Although I’ve been following Sister Zhang for quite some time.

I simply hope our Butterfly Gang returns to its original form without interference. From what I know, the Nantian Gang has risen swiftly in the past few months, taking control of all underground forces in Zhonghai, with you, Zhang Mengjie, being the true manipulator. If you’d paid attention back then, perhaps our Butterfly Gang wouldn’t be the way it is today!”

“But have you considered, without the Nantian Gang, does our Butterfly Gang even have a reason to exist? Without the Nantian Gang’s help, we would just be a group of kids loitering in bars, nothing more than delinquents. He gave us hope, gave us a future. Are you willing to follow someone without dreams, without direction, just to waste away?”

Zhang Mengjie suddenly turned around, scanning every face: “The Butterfly Gang is no longer the same. Our pursuit is not merely for leisure—what has been given to us? Given us dreams and hope, proving we’re more than the delinquents others see us as! Without the Nantian Gang appearing, our Butterfly Gang would have been wiped out months ago!”

Zhang Mengjie’s speech warmed the hearts of all the Butterfly Gang sisters.

Truthfully, they were just sixteen to early twenty-something girls, mostly struggling due to their family circumstances, trying to survive in today’s harsh reality where lack of money means enduring ridicule, even scorn. Fooled by their family, friends, and relatives.

Being called a group of aimless youths wasting their youth—who would want to hear that?

So each of them had dreams; no one wanted to be despised as delinquents.

No matter how well life is going, what’s the point?

What they need is reputation and status, along with everyone’s recognition!

Huo Lianqin, seeing things taking a turn, immediately changed her approach.

“Even if we die, we can’t be someone else’s lackey!” Huo Lianqin said defiantly.

She couldn’t understand why Zhang Mengjie would sacrifice so much for a man. If the Nantian Gang’s achievements today are attributed, at least sixty percent of the credit should be hers. With her skills and abilities, given time, she would undoubtedly achieve success not inferior to the Nantian Gang.

“Humph! Lackey! I think you’re the real lackey!”

Zhang Mengjie snorted, pulling a white paper out of her pocket: “It clearly records your collusion with Fusang Ninjas in arms dealings—did you think you could hide this from me?”

“You!!! Zhang Mengjie, didn’t you promise me we’d erase this matter between us?”

Now Huo Lianqin was dumbfounded. Back when she first joined the Butterfly Gang, she had done some things against the rules and inadvertently colluded with a Fusang Ninja. Using her convenient connections in the Butterfly Gang, she sold arms to the East District, which was later caught by Zhang Mengjie, who forgave her after she pleaded relentlessly.

Even verbally promising from then on never to mention it.

Never expected she’d bring up the past again today!

Oh Huo Lianqin, don’t blame me for being ruthless.

You have already touched the interests of my Nantian Gang. If I don’t find a reason to convince all the Butterfly Gang sisters today, killing you might cause chaos.

Since you seek death, we’ll spill all the dirt today! Blame yourself for not understanding the times.

Zhang Mengjie inwardly marked Huo Lianqin’s death sentence. She’d even harbored thoughts of killing; today, Huo Lianqin absolutely cannot leave alive. For Lin Zifeng, she’s willing to bear it all.

“You!!! Zhang Mengjie, I never expected you to be such a person! I trusted you so much back then, yet you spilled this matter! Seems I, Huo Lianqin, have been blind to follow you for so long!”

“That’s because you had ulterior motives.” At this moment, Zhang Yuxuan stepped forward, pulling out another piece of white paper from her bag.

“This is a letter you wrote to a foreign contact, entirely in Vietnamese. If you don’t mind, I can read it aloud for you.” Zhang Yuxuan said with a sneer.

“I’ll fight you!!!”

Seeing the situation exposed, Huo Lianqin had no more words, pulling out a hand arrow from her thigh, aiming it at Zhang Mengjie’s head with intent to shoot.

But when she was about to pull the trigger, the item was actually a ‘lighter’!

“Forgot to tell you that your arrow has already been replaced. Now, you don’t need to say much. I’ll let the sisters decide how to handle you.” Finished, Zhang Mengjie gave a charming smile, twisted her hips and left with her sister.

Just now a fierce demon with a heart like a venomous snake, now transformed to an ordinary girl-next-door demeanor, a complete shift that had earned her the nickname “Ferocious Queen Zhang Mengjie” of the famous East District in the past.

“Pfft, pfft, pfft—”

Huo Lianqin was stabbed to death by the Butterfly Gang sisters.

In the car, Zhang Mengjie stared in surprise at her sister, saying, “Sweetie, when did you learn Vietnamese?”

“No, I don’t know Vietnamese.” Zhang Yuxuan shook her head.

“Then why did you pull out Huo Lianqin’s Vietnamese letter to a foreign entity and said you’d read it in front of the sisters?”

“Haha… that was just to scare them; I actually don’t know what it says on the martial arts world face. I just said it casually, never imagined she’d react so strongly, obviously—a guilty conscience prevents her from letting me read it. She merely harmed herself.”

“…”

Zhang Mengjie was speechless, feeling amazed at her sister’s cunning beyond what she had imagined.

Leaning back in the seat, she pulled out a lady’s cigarette, flicked her flowing hair, watched the smoke rise, and gazed at the distant sky, unsure if what she did was right.

Perhaps today’s actions already violated some moral conscience…

True enough, one’s heart must be ruthless, or they can’t manage their own!
