Married the Sick Uncle – Just Waiting to Inherit His Fortune

Nathan Fawcett stood to the side, looked at Ryan Linden, and said, ”Putting other matters aside, when do you plan on paying back the money you owe the company?”

Ryan Linden’s face darkened, and he glared at Nathan Fawcett. After Nathan had left the Linden Group, he’d almost thought he wouldn’t have to pay the money back!

But who would have thought... Nathan Fawcett was back!

Ryan Linden said, ”Let’s wait until Master Linden gets back to talk about it! It’s not even certain if you’ll be allowed to stay with the company. Why are you meddling in things that don’t concern you?”

He had no respect for Nathan Fawcett now.

’Nathan Fawcett isn’t even a Linden!’

’Master Linden would never take his side!’

Seeing Ryan Linden’s arrogant expression, Nathan Fawcett simply ignored him.

Soon, Master Linden emerged, followed by his assistant, the butler, and his personal medical staff.

Nathan Fawcett started to walk over, but when Ryan Linden saw this, he quickly pushed Nathan aside and rushed ahead of him.

Seeing this, Butler Walters frowned. He looked at Nathan Fawcett and said, ”Sir!”

’That’s going too far!’

’What is wrong with this Ryan Linden...?’

’I have no idea where he gets the nerve!’

Nathan Fawcett said, ”It’s fine.”

To him, Ryan Linden’s antics were no different from a clown’s.

It only further proved how useless Ryan was.

Master Linden saw Ryan Linden approach and said, ”Ryan!”

Ryan Linden said, ”It must have been a long journey! We’ve been waiting for you to come back! We missed you so much! How is your health?”

’Finally, someone is here to put Nathan Fawcett in his place!’ He was overjoyed.

The old master glanced at him, his gaze falling upon Nathan Fawcett. ”Nathan!”

Ryan Linden: ”...”

Nathan Fawcett walked to Master Linden’s side. ”Grandfather.”

Ryan Linden looked at the old master and said, ”Grand-uncle, he’s Nathan Fawcett now! He couldn’t be bothered to be Ethan Linden, he even changed his name back! I don’t know what my aunt was thinking, letting him come back to take over the Linden Group. Now that you’re finally back, you have to take this matter into your own hands!”

Master Linden looked at Nathan Fawcett and said, ”Let’s go.”

Nathan Fawcett came over and supported the old man. ”How are you feeling?”

The old master said, ”I’m alright. I just missed Ian! I wanted to come back and see him.”

Watching Nathan Fawcett talk with the old master, Ryan Linden stood to the side, feeling completely ignored.

’...’ ’Was my voice too quiet just now?’

’Is that why the old master didn’t hear me?’

Accompanied by Nathan Fawcett, the old master walked out.

Ryan Linden stood rooted to the spot, feeling like a clown.

Noah Linden glanced at him and also began to head out.

Ryan Linden caught up and said to Noah Linden, ”When I was talking just now, do you think the old master didn’t hear me?”

Noah Linden said, ”He just got back. Why would you say all that? Grand-uncle’s health is already poor. You shouldn’t say things he doesn’t want to hear.”

”He used to hate Arthur Fawcett the most. Arthur Fawcett bullied our aunt so badly. Now that Nathan Fawcett has taken over the Linden Family, there’s no way the old master will tolerate it.”

”But you saw it yourself. He didn’t react at all.”

Ryan Linden insisted, ”He must not have heard me! That’s the only explanation!”

Nathan Fawcett and the old master got into the car. The old master looked at him and asked, ”Have you sorted things out with your mother?”

Nathan Fawcett said, ”She’s come to terms with it now.”

Master Linden said, ”That’s good! She’s always been rather stubborn. As long as she’s worked through it, that’s what matters! I was worried she would carry on like that forever.”

Nathan Fawcett said, ”She’s doing much better now.”

Master Linden asked, ”What’s the deal with Ryan Linden? Has he paid back the company’s money yet?”

”Not yet,” Nathan Fawcett said. ”Before you came back, he was still holding onto some false hope.”

Master Linden said, ”We’ll have to teach him a lesson later! Honestly! It’s good that you’ve switched back to being Nathan Fawcett. You don’t have to be as considerate of others as you were before.”

Ethan Linden’s personality was a gentle one. He had a good relationship with his cousins and was too reluctant to cause a scene.

But...

Now that he was Nathan Fawcett, he didn’t have to worry about all that!

He had always believed that someone in a position of power needed to be intimidating.

In this regard, Nathan Fawcett was much better than Ethan Linden.

It saved him a lot of worry!

...

As the two of them were talking, Noah Linden and Ryan Linden came out as well.

Ryan Linden stood at the doorway, looked at Master Linden, and said, ”Grand-uncle.”

As he spoke, he moved to get into the car, but Master Linden glanced at him and said, ”You can ride in the car behind us.”

Ryan Linden: ”...”

’There’s clearly room in here, but he wants me to take the car behind?’

Noah Linden said, ”Alright, you two drive safe. We’ll see you at home.”

As he spoke, Ryan Linden stood to the side, glaring at Nathan Fawcett in the car. Seeing him sitting next to the old master, Ryan was filled with indignation.

’Why can’t I, a Linden, sit next to the old master, but Nathan Fawcett can? Is he even worthy?’

Nathan Fawcett accompanied Master Linden to the Linden residence.

He had been staying with Anne Sutton recently and hardly ever came back here.

The house was bustling with activity today because the old master was returning.

Ryan Linden’s family had arrived early.

Lana Langley had also brought her son, pulling the little chubby boy in front of the old master and making him kowtow.

Master Linden watched this display and asked, ”What are you doing? There’s no need for this.”

Lana Langley said, ”Grand-uncle is back, and we’re all so happy! Our Donna missed you too!”

Master Linden looked at Donna’s dazed expression. Of course he knew what this couple, Ryan and his wife, were thinking.

His gaze fell on Nathan Fawcett as he asked, ”By the way, where’s Ian?”

Hearing this, Lana Langley frowned. ’I made sure to bring my son over to kowtow to him at the first opportunity, and he only remembers Ian?’

Ryan Linden and Noah Linden had also arrived by now.

The moment Ryan Linden walked in, he heard the old master ask about Ian. He immediately seized the opportunity to stir up trouble, walking over and fanning the flames. ”Ian, you say? Haven’t seen him in ages! I guess some people have no intention of bringing him back! Changing his surname is one thing, but now he’s not even going to bring his son home!”

He said this in a snide, passive-aggressive tone.

Master Linden looked at Nathan Fawcett and asked, ”What’s this about?”

Nathan Fawcett said, ”He’s with his mother. I’ll have someone bring them over in a little while.”

”His mother?” Ryan Linden sneered. ”A woman like that, is she even worthy of setting foot in our family’s home? Nathan Fawcett, do you really think the doors of the Linden Family are so easy to walk through?”

Nathan Fawcett ignored the lunatic Ryan Linden and said to the old master, ”I’m going to make a call.”

With that, he walked away.

He stepped out and called Anne Sutton.

Anne Sutton was helping Ian tidy up his bedroom and humming a song. Ian was reading a book beside her when the phone rang.

”Mom, the phone!”

Anne Sutton said, ”It’s probably your dad. Can you get it?”

Ian pressed the answer button and said into the phone in his sweet, childish voice, ”Hello?”

Nathan Fawcett asked, ”Where’s your mom?”

”Mom, it really is Dad!”

Anne Sutton replied, ”I’m here! I’m helping Ian pack his things.”

”Can you bring Ian over?”

”Now?” Anne Sutton asked. ”Isn’t it too late? How about tomorrow?”

”Pack your things and come over. You can stay the night. Don’t go back for now.”
