I Am Your Natural Enemy

Chapter 150: Chapter 87: Spouting Fragrance, Duanzhou Second Hospital (6k)_3

Old Xi Zhang went to order a table full of dishes, Wen Yan waved his hand and blessed every dish with yang energy.

Even the little zombie, who usually only eats tomatoes and yang energy, ate a small bowl of rice; everyone was really happy during this meal.

In the middle of the meal, Wen Yan also went to the back row to bring some food to Old Zhao and the five brothers, plus a big handful of the nice incense that Old Xi Zhang had gotten.

After the meal, Gan Tang said it was time to go, and Wen Yan felt a bit reluctant.

He’d just managed to latch onto Aunt Gan’s thigh, hadn’t even had the chance to show off yet, and now she was leaving again.

”I still have other things to do.”

”No rush, you don’t have to leave in the next couple days, right?”

”True, then I’ll stay a few more days. In a few days, I’ll take a trip to Duanzhou and go check on that water ghost.”

...

The night wind was gentle. A man with a little mustache sat on a rock by the sea, holding a photo album in his hands.

He was flipping through the album, every photo was taken inside the chemical plant’s domain.

There were photos of Fake Mo Zhicheng being pierced through the chest by Uncle’s claw, photos of Fake Mo Zhicheng with a light arrow sticking out of his chest, and even Wen Yan crouched on the ground, gathering ashes.

There were a lot of photos, even photos of the deformed corpse, but none of Gan Tang, nor of the Soul Devouring Beast.

The man looked at the photos and sighed.

”Rose from this, died by this, huh.”

He kept flipping, and saw photos of Wen Yan entering Virtue City Funeral House with the urn of ashes.

Then there was a photo of Wen Yan scattering the ashes from the boat.

”Young people nowadays, they really don’t leave any leeway at all.”

”Forget it, that guy’s defense has already been broken, he’s done.”

”No use wasting any more time and effort trying to save him.”

He looked at the photo of Fake Mo Zhicheng one last time, for a long while.

”You’re way harder than me. Just look at the kind of ruthless people you got yourself involved with. If not you, who else would die? Really thought your lousy ability made you invincible?”

He shook his head and closed the album.

At this moment, two girls who were traveling came over with their phones.

”Uncle, can you take a picture for us?”

”Sure, no problem.” The man lifted the DSLR hanging from his chest. ”Use mine. I’ve been waiting here for ages for a shot, but nothing came up. Might as well stay busy.”

”Thank you, uncle.”

”No problem. Come on, add me on Feixin, I’ll edit the photos and send them to you later.”

After taking photos for a few minutes, they all got familiar. One of the girls looked at the man’s photo album and curiously asked,

”Are these photos taken by you, uncle?”

”Only a few of them are mine. Most were taken by others—I just think they’re really good.”

”Can I take a look?”

”Sure, feel free.”

The album was opened. There were landscapes in it, and some portraits. The girl didn’t really get photography, but she just thought the photos were great, especially the lighting—it was really good.

The three of them had a great chat, and only when the wind picked up did the two girls reluctantly watch this handsome uncle walk away.

...

Three days later, Wen Yan and his group returned to Duanzhou.

This time, it was to send off Gan Tang, or rather, to send the great zombies who had come out with Gan Tang back to Fuyu Mountain.

Gan Tang also had to go back and have a good talk with the current sect leader of Fuyu Temple.

Gan Tang had personally brought up the water ghost issue with Cai Qidong, and the rest could be left alone.

The great zombies from Fuyu Mountain had no business meddling in the water—if they did, it would only backfire.

Watching the truck loaded with coffins for the great zombies drive away, Wen Yan still felt a bit unwilling; he hadn’t held onto that thigh yet.

The little zombie didn’t have a care in the world, laying on Wen Yan’s back and waving goodbye to the receding truck. Seeing Wen Yan’s low mood, it pressed its little face to his and whimpered.

Then it immediately stared at the Sparrow Cat next to him.

The Sparrow Cat said irritably,

”She says Aunt Gan told her, she’s just got other things to do this time. Once she’s done, she’ll come see you all.”

”Then when we get back, let’s hurry up and get a room sorted out for Aunt Gan, buy some proper furniture. The stuff we have now can do for a couple days, but for the long term? Not a chance.”

Wen Yan picked it up at once, pulling out his phone on the spot and starting to shop for furniture.

”C’mon, little buddy, help me out. What kind of style does Aunt Gan like? Traditional Chinese or modern? And while we’re at it, pick something out for yourself. We’ve got several rooms at home for you too—you can have one all to yourself.”

Old Xi Zhang was standing by the side, looking like he wanted to say something, but after thinking it over, he realized Wen Yan was right; you’ve gotta act early if you want to hold onto a thigh like that.

”I know two bosses in Duanzhou who make solid wood furniture. No way they’d sell me anything fake.”

”Then how about we go check it out?”

”When?”

”Right now. Anyway, Aunt Gan said not to get involved with Wang Xueqi’s matter, and the Scorching Sun Department is still tying up loose ends here. We’ve got nothing to do, may as well.”

With that, they decisively set off to look at furniture. Heading into Duanzhou city, as they passed an intersection, Wen Yan’s expression suddenly changed a little.

He looked to the side.

The big characters of ’Duanzhou Second People’s Hospital’ came into view.

”Pull over. You guys wait for me here.”

He got out of the car and walked into the hospital. A sudden sense of unease gripped his heart, growing ever stronger.

Following the intensifying feeling, he went all the way to the inpatient pediatrics ward.

As he got there, he saw Pei Tugou sitting on a chair, looking a little gloomy.

”Old bro?” Wen Yan called out.

Pei Tugou looked up in a daze. When he saw Wen Yan, he immediately stood up.

”Wen Yan, how come you’re here?”

”Old bro, how about you, what are you doing here?”

”My youngest son is sick again. Came to see the doctor.”

Wen Yan looked at Pei Tugou’s expression and asked,

”So, what’s going on exactly?”
