I Am Your Natural Enemy

Chapter 112: Chapter 75: Job Transfer, True Architect (5k)

Wen Yan took a quiet breath. He just knew that the Fake Mo Zhicheng was bound to show up.

But even he hadn’t expected that the Fake Mo Zhicheng would be so audacious—he actually wanted to brainwash the Soul Devouring Beast.

”Do you know what his current identity is?”

Zhuge Wanjun immediately broke into a dazzling smile.

”According to our agreement, for any of your questions, I’ll always stand from the perspective of your best interest and give you a professional answer.

Like this question.

The last time I met him, his identity was Zhang Fan, with the Flame Group’s Yu State branch.

But I can’t guarantee that’s still his current identity.”

She had been waiting a long time for this question. Since she hadn’t actively revealed the hint and Wen Yan brought it up of his own accord, she could thus sidestep the Fake Mo Zhicheng’s brainwashing and answer this highly sensitive core question.

Wen Yan took out his phone and quickly looked up this Zhang Fan.

A local of Yu State. Judging by his profile alone, he’s exactly the kind of guy with zero issues—highly educated, internship, hiring, finally getting in when the Flame Group opened a branch in Yu State.

And this Zhang Fan, also wears glasses—a pair of rimless glasses, in fact. That’s how he appears in all his recent photos.

Just based on the info and the photos, it’s simply impossible for anyone to connect him to the Fake Mo Zhicheng.

Wen Yan considered, thinking the Fake Mo Zhicheng definitely didn’t know his cover was blown yet. Should he try, right now, to find a way to take him out?

He then checked Zhang Fan’s movements. Yesterday, he appeared right across from the South Wall Law Firm.

But last night, according to his call log, he’d already gone to Duanzhou. After that, his location was pinned at a five-star hotel and hasn’t moved since.

Wen Yan let out a silent sigh. Judging from past experience, with someone as cautious as the Fake Mo Zhicheng, this phone location was probably completely unreliable.

All the more so because, just last night, the Scorching Sun Department had already started pushing ahead. Him going to Duanzhou at this time must mean he’s already started doing something.

Zhuge Wanjun put down her chopsticks. Seeing Wen Yan looking somewhat disappointed, she offered a reminder.

”Personally, here’s my suggestion: it’s best not to make a move on him in a crowded place.

This guy, he’s past the point of caring for fame or profit. He only cares about what he wants to do.

For him, it’s all about whether he can pull it off. Once it’s done, the result no longer matters to him.

His mind is already warped, trapped in a vicious cycle.

I don’t know for sure who all he’s gathered under him.

But by his usual habits, every subordinate is expendable—used up and thrown away.

If you go after him in a crowd, someone so purely evil would absolutely stop at nothing.”

Wen Yan nodded, understanding Zhuge Wanjun’s point.

The Fake Mo Zhicheng was utterly deranged; if cornered in a crowd, he’d have no qualms about using his powers to take enough civilians hostage, leaving the Scorching Sun Department paralyzed.

The best place to take him down is definitely only inside the Domain.

”The chemical plant’s Domain—do you know anything about it?”

”His original intent, I’m not sure.

But since the descent of the Soul Devouring Beast, he’s gone to the chemical plant Domain with the Wooden Armor Mask.

Right now, his goal is to control the Soul Devouring Beast.

I haven’t been inside that Domain, but based on what I can infer, he’s trying to use the Wooden Armor Mask to generate soulless zombies.

He might want to use those soulless zombies to pull off his plan to control the Soul Devouring Beast.

From what I know, he’s already brainwashed some of the ordinary Field Agents and Internal Staff in the Scorching Sun Department.

And some Different Races too—of those, I only know a few.”

Zhuge Wanjun rattled off a few Different Race types and names.

Wen Yan felt a bit regretful—no Sparrow Cat, and up to now the Fake Mo Zhicheng hadn’t contacted Sparrow Cat either. Looks like he also thought Sparrow Cat was too useless, not worth the trouble.

Sparrow Cat spends every day obsessing over being a spy and helping to catch the Fake Mo Zhicheng.

If he were the Fake Mo Zhicheng, he wouldn’t bother with Sparrow Cat either—no combat power, no special abilities, just eats all day and is addicted to cartoons.

Oh, wait, correction—Sparrow Cat does know ”Yingyu,” so it’s not totally useless.

The two of them were still talking when Zhuge Wanjun’s phone rang.

After a moment’s thought, she picked up the phone and sat down next to Wen Yan to answer it.

”Hello, boss.”

”Get the first thing done as soon as possible. Preferably within two days. Over the next two days, I’ll give you an opportunity, draw all attention your way.”

”Boss, I’ve already arrived in Virtue City. But I’m not you—you know I’m not that good at convincing that guy; I need more time.”

”You only have two days—no more delays. I know with your ability, getting him to sign an employment contract should be no problem.

If you don’t get it done within forty-eight hours, then you’re worthless, and you can go jump in the river then.

I’m dead serious.”

The cold, cruel voice of the Fake Mo Zhicheng came from the receiver. Zhuge Wanjun’s pupils flickered, then she instantly responded with a cheerful tone.

”Understood, boss—I’ll follow all your instructions.”

And in Wen Yan’s mind, a sudden prompt appeared.

”Swindler → True Architect (In Transition).

Drawing a morsel of truth from a web of lies, he had already grasped the core insight.

By immersing himself completely into reality with a fake identity—from his persona, to his inner self, to his deeds, to his emotions—he had thereby constructed a Big Executor who, by definition, could never be revealed as false.
