The Darling of Heaven Owns a Rip-off Shop

There is a famous tourist attraction outside the city, with visitors coming year-round to climb the mountain and take in the sights. Behind this attraction is another mountain, privately owned and off-limits to outsiders. And behind this mountain lies the headquarters of the Heavenly Master Association.

Yan Qing drove all the way to the Heavenly Master Association headquarters. On the way, he encountered the association’s bus, which was picking up other Ghost Hunters from the airport and heading to the headquarters.

The bus and the vehicle Tianmiao was in arrived at the headquarters gate simultaneously.

By now, there were already quite a few people at the gate.

The staff in charge of reception were inviting those who got off to come this way. First, they needed to arrange accommodation, and then they were free to explore. They could visit the exhibition hall of the headquarters or go to the cafeteria for a meal. The cafeteria provides food 24/7, and it’s free.

”Miss Tian, please this way.” Yan Qing led Tianmiao and her group in a different direction, not towards where most of the Ghost Hunters were processing their lodging.

The headquarters of the Heavenly Master Association is more like a luxury resort hotel. Accommodation, dining, and entertainment are all provided, though this entertainment is different from the usual resort hotel. It’s all related to ghost hunting.

”Who’s your mentor?” Cui Wenyan couldn’t help but ask quietly.

”My mentor is the most powerful in the Heavenly Master Association.” Yan Qing also replied quietly, but his tone was full of pride.

”The President? Ma Dong?” Cui Wenyan’s expression changed. She would never forget that incident when Ma Dong and Wu Zhongyuan came to seize the relics her parents left her. If Ma Dong was the one inviting them, she couldn’t guarantee she’d have any good expression when she saw him later.

”Him? Of course not! What makes him so powerful anyway. My mentor is the most powerful. It’s not his turn. My mentor has seven elders under him.” Yan Qing exclaimed with wide eyes.

”Hmm? Ah?” This left Cui Wenyan dumbfounded. Elders?

”Don’t you know? The true decision-making power in the Heavenly Master Association lies with eight elders. For major decisions, they convene to discuss and vote. The President and Vice President rank below them. My mentor is the Great Elder, very impressive!” As Yan Qing mentioned his mentor, his eyes lit up with pride.

”My mentor is the most powerful.” Cui Wenyan held back the words in her heart for the sake of harmony.

”Oh, so that’s how it is.” Cui Wenyan sighed. She really didn’t know the mechanisms of the Heavenly Master Association. She assumed the President held the highest position.

”By the way, are you participating in the competition this year? I am too. This year’s first place will definitely be mine.” Yan Qing pointed to himself with his thumb, full of self-confidence, ”Not to brag, my mentor says I’m the most promising and potential Ghost Hunter in recent years. If you encounter danger during the competition, feel free to call me, I’ll help you.”

”Will there be dangers during the competition?” Cui Wenyan asked curiously.

”Yes, our ghost hunting profession is inherently a dangerous one. If the competition was just child’s play, it would be meaningless. Although judges will step in to rescue if there’s danger, if there’s a real accident that they’re too late to save, there’s nothing they can do.” Yan Qing shrugged.

”I see...” Cui Wenyan realized, then laughed, ”If you encounter danger you can call me too, in case I might be able to help you.”

”Alright, alright, mutual assistance.” Yan Qing laughed too, but clearly, he didn’t take Cui Wenyan’s words to heart, not really believing this young girl could be of any help to him.
