The Darling of Heaven Owns a Rip-off Shop

”Come on, it’s not even dark yet. It’s not exciting at all. If we go back now, it’s such a buzzkill.” Liang Bing vetoed, ”Didn’t we all prepare chicken and kebabs? We also planned to have a bonfire for barbecue later. Oops, I let it slip. I meant to surprise Cui Wenyan with it later.”

Alright, Cui Wenyan felt exhausted, realizing what Liang Bing meant by ”everybody.” They actually brought chicken and kebabs to this eerie place for a barbecue. Such a move, they’re really something. Cui Wenyan had no words left to mock these thrill-seeking guys.

”Yeah, don’t be afraid, Zhao Qian, I’m here.” Zhou Kai comforted, holding Zhao Qian’s hand.

Zhao Qian gave Zhou Kai a smile and reluctantly agreed.

Cui Wenyan didn’t say a word, just occasionally glanced down at her phone. She had already opened the radar interface of the app, checking for any white dots to appear. Once a white dot appeared, it indicated the presence of a ghost.

Wu Yihao sidled up to Cui Wenyan and said, ”Are you scared? How about we take you and Zhao Qian back first?”

Cui Wenyan turned her head slightly to look at Wu Yihao, then shook her head, saying, ”No need, I’m not scared.”

”Alright then, but let me know if you get scared.” Wu Yihao looked at the calm Cui Wenyan, confirming she wasn’t frightened at the moment, and felt slightly relieved.

”Hey, is your phone frozen? Why is it just a blank white screen?” Wu Yihao glanced at Cui Wenyan’s phone screen and asked in confusion.

Cui Wenyan immediately understood; ordinary people couldn’t see the interface of this ghost-catching app.

”Maybe. I’ll restart it later.” Cui Wenyan replied perfunctorily.

They ambled around for a bit, and the group sat down for a short rest in the yard of a villa.

As it gradually turned dark, to Cui Wenyan, it seemed strange, like an opaque black cloth enveloping above them, as if the night had suddenly closed in, with no light to be seen anywhere.

But apparently, the others didn’t have such keen observation. Liang Bing opened a bottle of Coke, guzzled it down, crushed the can in his hand, threw it into the deep grass beside him.

As visibility decreased, they took out flashlights. Liang Bing and Wu Yihao stood up first, even pulling out a camcorder for a live adventure. The two, always daring, treated it like a game, shouting to the other three to follow, and began walking ahead.

They hadn’t taken many steps when they heard a sound from the grass behind, as if something was quickly scuttling. Walking ahead, Wu Yihao felt something lightly tap his shoulder, followed by a faint scream in his ear, and he seemed to smell a slight burnt scent. Holding the camcorder, he turned and said, ”Why did you tap me?”

At this moment, Cui Wenyan and the other two were almost five meters away from him, making it impossible for anyone to touch him. His shout brought everyone to a halt.

Liang Bing laughed heartily, ”Don’t joke around, you’ll really scare Zhao Qian to tears.”

Wu Yihao said, ”I’m not kidding, someone really tapped my shoulder! And I think I heard a scream, and I smelled something burnt?”

”Hahaha, alright alright, don’t say such things. Zhao Qian will be scared to tears and Zhou Kai will hit you.” Liang Bing laughed it off as if Wu Yihao was joking.

”Wu Yihao, I’m really going to hit you. Stop making jokes like that, Zhao Qian’s scared.” Zhou Kai grumbled.

”Alright, alright, maybe I was imagining things.” Wu Yihao waved his hand, ”Let’s keep going.”

Cui Wenyan frowned slightly. They didn’t see it, but she definitely saw a small shadow quickly pass by, patting Wu Yihao on the shoulder.
