The Darling of Heaven Owns a Rip-off Shop

Opening the door, Zhou Shiqiu held up a bag: ”I brought you your favorite lemon tea. Let’s go shopping first, then have lunch outside, come back and wash the ingredients, and have hot pot for dinner. I brought a few change of clothes to crash at your place.”

”I actually hope you can keep crashing.” Xu Yuxi giggled as she took the lemon tea, ”Come in quickly, put things down, let’s head out.” She could afford to support Zhou Shiqiu, who is an orphan. With Xu Yuxi’s wealth, she could certainly support not just one, but even ten Zhou Shiqius. But of course, Zhou Shiqiu wouldn’t agree to that.

”Okay. What do you want to eat tonight?” Zhou Shiqiu put down the backpack and waited for Xu Yuxi to change her shoes, and asked, ”Tripe? Fatty meat? Lamb slices? Lettuce and pork belly? Ribs, beef?”

”A lot, a lot. Let’s just buy whatever we see.” Xu Yuxi finished changing her shoes, picked up the car keys, and headed to the garage with Zhou Shiqiu.

”Shiqiu, after we finish shopping and get home, I have something very important to tell you. Also, no matter what I buy later on, don’t stop me. There’s a reason for why I’m buying like this.” After pulling the car out of the garage, Xu Yuxi said this.

”Mysterious, what on earth is it?” Zhou Shiqiu curiously asked, her heart itching with curiosity.

”Let’s talk after we get home with the stuff.” Xu Yuxi drove out of the neighborhood towards the largest mall in the city.

At the mall, Xu Yuxi dragged Zhou Shiqiu upstairs to buy clothes first. They bought various jackets and down coats, as well as thermal tops and pants.

Zhou Shiqiu asked puzzled, ”Why are you buying thermal tops and pants? In past winters, you always refused to wear them, being frozen to the point of wailing. I’d always ask, ’A journey of a thousand miles begins with one step, can you just wear thermals?’ and you said no.”

”Oh well, people change over time.” Xu Yuxi laughed it off, then discussed with the store clerk if they could get the mall to deliver everything she bought. The clerk said it was possible.

Under the puzzled gaze of Zhou Shiqiu, Xu Yuxi bought quite a few winter clothes, as well as sports outfits and sneakers.

”Why are you buying so much, these styles will go out of fashion. By then, you won’t want to wear them, what a waste.” Zhou Shiqiu advised.

”Did you forget the promise you made before coming?” Xu Yuxi winked at Zhou Shiqiu.

Zhou Shiqiu was momentarily speechless and said no more.

After buying clothes and shoes, the two went to the top floor to eat.

”I want to eat roast duck,” Xu Yuxi said.

Zhou Shiqiu laughed, as roast duck was actually her favorite.

The two entered the roast duck restaurant, enjoyed a delicious meal, and even packed two ducks to go after eating.

Zhou Shiqiu was quite puzzled, as roast duck doesn’t taste good once it’s cold. Even reheating it never manages to restore its original taste. Today, Xu Yuxi’s behavior seemed a bit abnormal no matter how she looked at it. But remembering Xu Yuxi’s previous call asking her to come over and stay for a few days, she understood. Yuxi must be feeling really down. Oh well, she’d accompany her no matter what she wanted to do.

The two then went to the supermarket and bought a huge pile of ingredients, carrying the big and small bags to the underground parking spot.

In the elevator, they bumped into someone they both knew, Senior Chen from the same school. He was one major ahead of them, about to graduate. Senior Chen was a gentle-looking, thin guy, very polite and smooth in handling affairs, and the vice president of the student council. Because he was interning after graduation, he was gradually handing over student council duties.
