The Darling of Heaven Owns a Rip-off Shop

”Yes, yes! Oh, don’t buy anything yet, come over first. I’ll drive, and we’ll go to the supermarket together and buy more stuff.” Xu Yuxi said.

”Alright then, I’m coming, I’m coming. Wait for me at home, I’ll be there in no more than forty minutes.” Zhou Shiqiu agreed, then hung up the phone.

Xu Yuxi went through her phone contacts again, only to realize the list was embarrassingly short. Zhou Shiqiu was her only friend. The rest were either just acquaintances or people like her college advisor, class president, her half-brother Xu Yucheng, and their father, Xu Zhihao.

When it came to Xu Yucheng, Xu Yuxi felt quite helpless. That kid, even though his mother was despicable and disgusting, he himself was like a little sun. He had impeccable values. After learning about his mother’s affair, he was filled with guilt towards Xu Yuxi. He often showed concern, and sometimes he would come over bringing a pile of stuff to check on her.

He’d always tell her to ask for help whenever she needed it. If these concerns were fake, Xu Yuxi would have told him to bug off. But the problem was, she could see that these concerns genuinely came from his heart.

Xu Yuxi had refused several times, but Xu Yucheng persisted in caring for her. All she could do was go along with it.

Therefore, regarding the apocalypse, Xu Yuxi planned to tell Xu Yucheng. As for Xu Zhihao, she also decided to inform him. She would do her part, and it would be up to him thereafter.

Xu Yuxi sent emails to Xu Yucheng and Xu Zhihao separately, informing them of the impending apocalypse a week later and attached a survival guide, and then sent texts telling them to read the email thoroughly. The message to Xu Yucheng included: Please trust me. To Xu Zhihao, however, the message was: This is true, whether you believe it or not is up to you.

Little Green watched Xu Yuxi finish all this, then hopped onto her head and gave her a kiss, ”Master is as kind as ever. I like Master so much.”

”I like Little Green too.” Xu Yuxi reached out to stroke Little Green.

Soon enough, Xu Yucheng called.

”Sister, what’s up? Is there something wrong?” Xu Yucheng asked, confused but concerned.

”Nothing. In one week, this world will change dramatically. You probably have quite a bit of money since I know you’ve made some from investments. Humor me and go a bit crazy and start preparing as I told you. That’s all, I have to go. Bye.” Xu Yuxi said this and then hung up.

Right after she hung up, Xu Zhihao’s call came.

Xu Yuxi picked up but didn’t speak first. After a pause, Xu Zhihao finally spoke, ”Are you short on money? I just transferred a million to your card.”

”Not short! Believe it or not.” Saying this, Xu Yuxi was about to hang up but paused to add, ”It’s okay if you don’t believe it. Xu Yucheng will probably prepare some stuff; you can just use his later.” Before Xu Zhihao could respond, Xu Yuxi hung up.

After hanging up, Xu Yuxi sat on the sofa without saying a word. Little Green stayed quiet too, simply lying on her head and keeping her company.

Until the doorbell rang, breaking Xu Yuxi out of her trance.

”Coming, coming!” Xu Yuxi got up to open the door. Of course, it was Zhou Shiqiu outside.

Zhou Shijie, you used to protect me; this time, it’s my turn to protect you!
