The Darling of Heaven Owns a Rip-off Shop

Chapter 319: Chapter 26: The Elf Prince’s Wish

”Let’s move on.” Tianmiao grabbed a few greenish fruits and started eating them.

”Hey, Tianmiao, when did you take them?” Xia Chuanyue leaned over and asked in confusion, then said with a complex expression, ”The Mermaids’ taste is truly strange! The more I drink that beverage, the more sour it gets—it’s going to make my teeth fall out. And this fruit, it has a squishy texture with no flavor at all. Is it filled with plain water?”

”I don’t like the drink, but these fruits are pretty interesting. Let’s buy some before we leave. Mermaids’ specialties aren’t just pearls; they have some delicious foods too. Shall we go shopping?” Tianmiao suggested.

”Sure, sure.” Xia Chuanyue immediately nodded upon hearing about shopping. She loved the feeling of buying things and enjoyed bargaining even more. That sense of achievement—ah, it’s just so exhilarating.

Bart looked down at the Mermaid Princess lying on the ground, then glanced at the enthusiastically discussing Tianmiao and Xia Chuanyue, and finally turned to look at Camille and Dean.

”I’m a man, the princess is a girl—it’s best to avoid any misunderstandings.” Camille waved his hand, indicating he was unwilling to carry the Mermaid Princess.

Dean met Bart’s gaze and merely said indifferently, ”Actually, splashing some water on her to wake her up would be the best approach.”

Bart: ... Feeling very tired. The headmaster really set me up. Thought it’d be easy going with just four people, but each one is more troublesome than the next. The key is that none of them seem to be ordinary.

(Headmaster: Nonsense, would I need to set you up with ordinary people?)

In the end, Bart resigned himself to propping the Mermaid Princess up on a chair and went out to call the female officer to carry the Mermaid Princess away.

”Ah, what happened to the Princess?” the female officer exclaimed in worry and surprise upon entering and seeing the unconscious Mermaid Princess.

”She’s indeed sick.” Tianmiao said casually, ”Take her back first.”

”Is the princess’s illness severe? I knew it. How could she be wholeheartedly devoted to someone like a Black Tail? She must be sick!” the female officer glared at Buren and quickly picked up the Mermaid Princess, hurrying out of the place.

Tianmiao and the others also left the shop behind.

Buren chased after them, sticking his head out and shouting, ”You demons, stealing the princess from me—I won’t call this defeat, nor will I give up.”

Xia Chuanyue snorted coldly, ”What nonsense. Only daring to talk tough once we’ve left. Earlier, Dean mentioned if he moved again, he’d be slaughtered, and he chickened out completely. Even the princess couldn’t see through him.”

Dean slightly turned his head, glancing at the furious Buren, who quickly withdrew his head.

”See, that’s the nature of this type of person: utterly irresponsible. The princess actually couldn’t see through him.” Xia Chuanyue mocked.

”Because the princess is sick.” The female officer carrying the princess retorted indignantly.

”Yes, your princess is sick. This illness is a bit serious, not easily cured.” Xia Chuanyue rolled her eyes internally, outwardly saying calmly.

”Is it magic? Is it caused by a curse?” the female officer asked concernedly.

”No, there’s no magic fluctuation, nor is it a curse.” Bart definitively answered at this moment.

”Then you say the princess is sick?” The female officer was puzzled.

”Yes, brainless infatuation is also an illness. And it really is hard to cure.” Xia Chuanyue replied irritably.

The Mermaid Princess wasn’t cursed with some profound magic, nor was she poisoned.

It’s just... plain brainless infatuation—hoodwinked by a Black Tail and fell head-over-heels into the sea of love.
