The Darling of Heaven Owns a Rip-off Shop

Chapter 253: Chapter 3: Heavenly Dao Office

”You better not bully them. If you make them work, you have to give them a reward,” Tianmiao immediately said.

”In your eyes, is your dad such an exploiter?” Heavenly Dao glared.

”That’s exactly it.” Tianmiao rolled her eyes.

”Boohoo, my daughter has grown up, and she’s not as cute as she used to be.” Heavenly Dao pretended to cry.

Tianmiao turned her head, unable to bear the sight of her dad’s silly appearance. She really should let those employees see how the once dignified and powerful Heavenly Dao looks now.

”The cookies Dong Xiao baked are ready, I’m going to eat them first. Dad, since you don’t like them anyway, I won’t save any for you.” After Tianmiao finished, she ran to the kitchen.

Heavenly Dao felt a bit of a myocardial infarction from this unfilial daughter! When did he say he didn’t like cookies? Was she planning to give them to someone, so she said that? He’d see soon enough which brat his daughter wanted to give them to!

...

Tianmiao sat by the dock of the inner lake in the Heavenly Dao Palace garden, holding a plate of cookies, dipping her bare feet into the water while leisurely nibbling on the treats.

Kong Hou lay nearby, looking displeased, ”Boss, when will you be back from the West? Why won’t you take Dong Xiao and me?”

Dong Xiao was beside them brewing tea, saying nothing, but his silence perfectly expressed his emotions. He wasn’t in a good mood either.

”Dad surely has his reasons for arranging things like this. You two behave at home, and I’ll bring you gifts when I get back,” Tianmiao stuffed another cookie into her mouth, mumbling. Although Dad sometimes acted foolishly in front of her, he never made decisions lightly. He must have his reasons; he just often wouldn’t say them out loud.

”I’ll miss Master a lot,” Kong Hou said sadly.

”Call me Boss!” Tianmiao corrected. ”Alright, you guys have fun at home; I’m off to the Heavenly Dao Office to see Ye Chenfeng and Jie Wenzhan. I haven’t visited them since I tricked them into joining.”

”Boss, help me ask about that shameless old Yinglong,” Kong Hou quickly said.

”Sure,” Tianmiao packed up the leftover cookies into two portions, casually announcing, ”There we go, visiting gifts sorted. Waste is shameful.”

Kong Hou: ...

Dong Xiao: ...

Master, taking the cookies you couldn’t finish and giving them away—being Heavenly Dao’s daughter, is this really okay? You always say your dad is stingy, but now we see, you truly are two of a kind.

Tianmiao didn’t care for Kong Hou and Dong Xiao’s inner complaints; she got up and headed out.

The Heavenly Dao Palace and the Heavenly Dao Office were within sight of each other, not too far apart. The Heavenly Dao Office was a modern comprehensive building, while Heavenly Dao Palace was a luxurious, ancient-style palace.

The staff dormitory of the Heavenly Dao Office was at the back of the comprehensive building. Each employee had their own dorm. While called dorms, in reality, each person had their own space. From the outside, it looked like a neat building, but once you stepped inside a dorm room, it was a different world. Inside it could be a Sumeru World, customizable to the owner’s desire—any size, any style. Ye Chenfeng and Jie Wenzhan’s dorms were next to each other.

Tianmiao found Ye Chenfeng and Jie Wenzhan on the twelfth floor, and their desks were not far apart.
