I Only Wanted A Class In The Apocalypse

Chapter 1858: Digging Her Grave Instead of Escaping!

”You think we only trade in luxury and hospitality? We have accumulated wealth beyond your imagination. No matter how many artificial planets or U.stat crystals your nascent kingdom requires, I can facilitate the transfer. We are the middlemen of the universeʼs most elite; our shadows reach deep into every restricted depot in the cosmos.”

”In return for setting you free, of course,” Hye added, his tone conversational. He entertained the thought, watching her closely.

Olana didnʼt rush the answer. She saw the opening and decided to lean back into the weapons she knew best. She stood up slowly, her movements lazy and feline, and began walking toward him.

”I can help you with anything you want, my mighty lord,” she purred, her voice dropping to a low, seductive hum as she stopped just inches from his throne.

”All you need to do is give me the sign, and I will fill your inventory with enough wealth to sustain your dynasty for a hundred generations. Why struggle through the dirt when you can have the keys to the kingdom?”

”Hmm,” Hye let a small, enigmatic smile play across his lips. He decided to play along for a moment. He flicked his wrist, sending her a formal friend request through the system. She accepted it instantly, her eyes bright with the anticipation of a deal.

Once the connection was established, Hye took a screenshot of a fraction of his current inventory—the section that looked ”empty” only because he had just distributed trillions of items to his generals. He sent it to her without a word.

”Damn! Did you rob a Sovereign Raceʼs treasury?!” Olana screamed, her composure vanishing in an instant.

The holographic display showed a wealth of materials, ships, and tokens that made her familyʼs legendary reserves look like a childʼs piggy bank.

Her panic was visible; her breath hitched as she realised the man she was trying to ”buy” was already richer than most planetary governors.

”This,” Hye said, clearing his throat and gesturing to the screen, ”is what I consider to be poor. Letʼs say you can fill this inventory with one hundred times the amount I currently have. Then, and only then, will I consider your freedom a fair trade.”

”Why not just ask for the keys to my familyʼs soul?!” Olana shouted, the seductive facade ripping apart like wet paper. She stumbled back to her seat, her face pale.

”This is madness! Forget about a hundred times—even matching the sheer volume of high-grade assets in this screenshot would be beyond my familyʼs entire liquid net worth! Iʼd better rot in this palace than try to perform the impossible!”

”I thought so,” Hye shrugged, his voice bored. He had known her offer was hollow from the start. He didnʼt need a merchantʼs ”help” when he could simply take what he wanted from the universe.

”Yet, you can still be useful,” Hye said, standing up with a fluid, lethal motion. He reached into his storage and threw a shimmering, dark-bound scroll toward her. ”Sign this. Once the seal is complete, youʼll be free to leave this world.”

Olana caught the scroll, her eyes lighting up with a brief, desperate hope. But as she unfurled the parchment and read the system-enforced text, the light died, replaced by a cold, hollow fury.

”Screw you! A slave contract? You want me to sign a soul-binding slave contract? I am a princess of the guilds, not a common servant!”

”Believe me,” Hyeʼs expression turned vicious, his voice dropping an octave as a thick, oily black aura began to seep from his pores. The temperature in the throne room plummeted as his Soul-Reaper energy flared to life.

”I have many ways to ensure you sign it. Iʼve been patient, Olana. Iʼve let you play your games. But my patience has reached its limit. Be a ʼgood girlʼ and sign it, or I will let my Soulers find a way to make your fingers move for you.”

”Even if you killed me, I wonʼt sign it!” Olana shrieked, throwing the scroll back at his face.

Hye caught the contract mid-air, his hand enveloped in a dangerous, flickering darkness. The air around him distorted as he stepped off the dais, the ground cracking under the weight of his killing intent. The negotiation was over.

Olana realised too late that her attempt to bargain had backfired with catastrophic precision.

By boasting of her familyʼs immense wealth and her access to their restricted vaults, she hadnʼt bought her freedom—she had accidentally appraised her own value as a permanent asset.

Hye was not a man to settle for a single, lucrative transaction when he could secure a lifetime of dividends. To him, Olana was no longer a prisoner; she was a strategic resource to be harvested for centuries to come.

”Iʼm warning you,” Hye said, his voice dropping into a register that made the very air in the throne room vibrate. His silhouette began to blur as the Soul-Reaper energy intensified, casting long, flickering shadows that seemed to move with a life of their own.

”I would prefer it if you signed this contract of your own volition. Itʼs cleaner that way. But if you refuse, I will use the darker tools at my disposal to ensure your hand moves exactly where I need it to.”

”Stay away from me! You barbaric monster!” Olana shrieked, her poise vanishing as she scrambled backwards.

She tried to invoke her racial abilities, reaching for the spatial energy she usually commanded, but the ”Singular World” of the Second Earth remained stubbornly unresponsive to her touch.

Black, needle-like threads of energy began to erupt from Hyeʼs fingertips, weaving through the air with a predatory hiss. She turned to run, but no matter how she twisted or lunged, the threads outpaced her, encircling her limbs like freezing silk.

”Iʼm truly sorry about this,” Hye said, his tone terrifyingly calm.

”Initially, I thought of using your skills for a few weeks and then setting you loose. But you mentioned the treasure vaults. You mentioned the family name. If you can facilitate the kind of volume I need to awaken my legions, then why would I ever let you go?”
