Medical Sage

Under the gloomy, cold light of the moon, a young man with an Eastern face stood leisurely. Before him was a withered, extremely old man, whose squinted eyes were a startling blood-red. A faint, bloody scent wafted from his aged body, accentuating the sinister, faint smile on his unnaturally flushed face and creating a sense of chilling terror.

”An elder from my family? Alright. My name is Chen Fei, and my master is Ming Daochuan.” Since Old Howard had asked, Chen Fei didn’t hide anything and answered directly.

”Ming Daochuan?” Upon hearing the name, Old Howard’s voice took on a strange, strained tone as he repeated it. His deep, blood-red eyes flashed with a sharp light, as if he had just recalled the corresponding powerhouse from the Huaxia of the East. He then squinted and smiled. ”I know him. I even met him once, about a decade ago.”

”Is that so?” Chen Fei smiled noncommittally. ”Mr. Howard, did you chase me all the way here just to have a casual chat?”

”Of course not…” At his words, Old Howard’s deep, blood-red eyes revealed a hint of sinister coldness. A suffocating pressure slowly burst forth from his body—it was incredibly bloody, heavy, and oppressive. It felt as if a torrent of fresh blood was overflowing from the void, causing the very moonlight to distort. The scene was terrifying.

”For many years, the Eastern and Western worlds have kept to their own lanes, respecting each other. But your actions just now, young man… weren’t they a bit out of line?” He fixed his gaze on Chen Fei, a slow, ominous smile spreading across his face as he spoke.

His meaning was perfectly clear. The West was their territory. It was one thing for an Easterner to visit, but to dare cause trouble on their turf and injure an expert from the Western Dark World? Was this not disrespecting them, these old folks? What else could it be!?

That was why he chose to appear now. If he ignored it and turned a blind eye, the news would spread. Wouldn’t that make it seem as if he, Old Howard, was afraid of someone, that he had no backbone? What would become of his reputation then?

”Out of line? I don’t think so. If those guys hadn’t come looking for trouble with me first, why would I have bothered with them? But since you’ve put it that way, it seems you intend to stand up for them?” As he spoke, Chen Fei’s faint smile abruptly vanished. A cold intent wafted from him, his voice echoing in the air, ”In that case, sir, why don’t you make a move and find out?”

Even if this Old Howard was a legendary Blood Clan Prince, equivalent to the sss Level, would he, Chen Fei, Young Master Chen, now at the Peak of Qi Refining Fifth Layer, truly be afraid of him? Besides, with my current Cultivation Level and strength, anyone less than an sss Peak expert or a Peak Late Innate Ancient Martial Artist isn’t really a threat, are they? Heh...

This was a sharp, imposing self-assurance, a naturally expressed dominance! It was enough to make Old Howard... the Prince... change his expression slightly.

”Young man, it seems you are quite confident in your strength. Very well, then...” Old Howard’s brow furrowed coldly. His gaze instantly became as terrifying and ominous as a legendary demon’s, filled with a crimson, ghastly intent. Locking his eyes onto Chen Fei, he said slowly, ”Initially, I was only going to ask for a simple apology, and that would have been the end of it. But since you’re so confident in your strength, this old man will play along... just don’t regret it!”

As for Chen Fei’s strength, which was capable of easily defeating a Grand Mage of Light and two S+ Paladins, Old Howard estimated it had to be at least at the ss+ Peak! In either the Eastern or Western worlds, that was an existence considered to be a titan... yet it was still not enough to impress him. After all, he had become a legendary Blood Clan Prince half a century ago!

”Regret? I never regret my actions. I’ve long heard that the Blood Clan Prince represents the most powerful state of the Blood Clan on Earth. Since I have the chance to meet one today, why don’t you let me see for myself?” Hearing Old Howard’s words, Chen Fei smiled faintly, showing no intention of backing down. Besides the fact that he was hard-headed and never one to back down easily, he knew that with a legendary Blood Clan Prince, mere words were unlikely to resolve anything.

As soon as his voice fell, he lifted his hand. BOOM! A dense ’mudflow’ seemed to possess a life of its own as it streamed from his sleeve, gathering in his palm to form an ancient, mottled stone mirror. Its surface pulsed with daunting fluctuations and a brilliant light, causing even Old Howard’s expression to shift slightly.

Clearly, that stone mirror was none other than the Mystic Stone Mirror, a Low Grade Magic Artifact personally refined by Chen Fei, Young Master Chen. Given my current Cultivation Level, if I were to unleash the full power of my eighteen blades of the Sword Qi of Sanyang True Fire, it would be ’bullying’... because that’s simply too overpowering! So, he brought out the Mystic Stone Mirror instead. The full power of a Low Grade Magic Artifact should be more than enough for a ’mere’ Blood Clan Prince. He shouldn’t be able to block it, right?

”According to you Easterners, this should be what you call a Magic Artifact, correct?” Old Howard’s deep, blood-red eyes stared intently at the Mystic Stone Mirror floating in Chen Fei’s hand. A grim expression, mixed with surprise and astonishment, settled on his wrinkled face. From the fluctuations emanating from the mirror, even he sensed a hint of danger. This wasn’t his first encounter with a ’Magic Artifact’ from Huaxia, but it was the first time he had felt such immense pressure and threat. Could it be that the Magic Artifact in this boy’s hands is far stronger and more formidable than any I have seen before!?

”No wonder you have the confidence to speak to me like this,” Old Howard muttered. Then, without the slightest hesitation, his whole body shook. With a creak and shudder of his bones, a terrifying bloody aura and monstrous, demonic wings erupted from his back. As the dreadful sanguine stench permeated his entire body, his once-withered hands eerily transformed into a pair of claws, which emanated a ghastly, tangible black light that was utterly terrifying!

The more powerful a member of the Blood Clan, the more frightening their bodies become. This fact was now confirmed in Chen Fei’s mind. The sight of those claws sent a chill through his heart; he knew that a single scratch would cause grievous injury. This suggests the Cultivation path of the Blood Clan is likely similar to the ’Witch’ path of Ancient Huaxia. Both pursue physical might and bodily immortality... I just don’t know which of the two paths is stronger.

At that moment, Old Howard seemed to have completed his transformation. He looked just like a demon. His ferocious wings blotted out the moonlight, and his face took on a ghostly pallor. Staring at Chen Fei, he smirked. ”Young man, shall I make the first move, or will you?” He was still supremely confident in his own power, believing that if he struck first, Chen Fei would have no chance to retaliate.

”I make the first move, or you?” Chen Fei paused for a second, then understood the implication. A mocking smirk curved his lips as he looked at his opponent. ”I don’t think it makes any difference, do you?” That’s right. In my view, what difference does it make who goes first? The outcome will be the same. Does this Old Bat really think he has me cornered? Heh...

”No difference?” Old Howard’s face instantly turned cold.

BOOM! An explosive, bloody aura erupted from him. Old Howard stomped his foot, and the ground around it visibly spiderwebbed with cracks. His figure then transformed into a dark red streak of light, shooting out violently. His claws aimed straight for Chen Fei’s head with terrifying power.

He hadn’t expected to become this enraged, but Chen Fei had dared to speak to him so arrogantly. He’s merely at the ss+ Level, yet he repeatedly displays an attitude unbecoming of his rank in front of me, a mighty Blood Clan Prince! How can I not be angry? Young people need to act their age... Ah, it seems a lesson is in order. He needs to be taught his place, to learn how to bow his head respectfully.

CLANG! In the next instant, a metallic shriek that vibrated the very eardrums rang out through the silent, gloomy canyon. Somehow, Old Howard had appeared directly above Chen Fei. His demonic, dark-red wings blotted out the moonlight, accentuating the cold smile on his aged face as a five-fingered glint of icy light—his claws—slashed down!

This was the terrifying power of a legendary Blood Clan Prince. Not only was his speed unbelievable, but his claws—capable of tearing through super-hardened aluminum alloys—were his most powerful and frightening weapon. Even an ordinary ss+ Peak Powerhouse would find it difficult to block this strike. Clearly, he wasn’t holding back.

But what happened next made the expression on Old Howard’s aged face change drastically, replaced by one of disbelief and ghastly shock!

BANG! RUMBLE... Because Chen Fei, Young Master Chen, had blocked the claw barehanded, sending an explosive shockwave through the air.

Not only that, but in the next second, Chen Fei’s eyes turned ferocious. His hand morphed from an open palm into a fist, his muscles tensed, and he slammed it down towards Old Howard’s shoulder blade. The latter instantly moved to block.

BANG!
