Delta is Coming, Big Red Has Special Effects

374: First missionFor several days in a row, Liu Yan stayed in the dormitory, tinkering with his quantum storage.

Those two eerie figures couldn’t help but keep popping up in his mind.

Fortunately, the other Operators were all away on their own missions and were not at the Special Operations Department.

As a Bronze Operator, Liu Yan hadn’t received any missions these past few days.

Knock, knock, knock...

Suddenly, a rhythmic knocking brought Liu Yan’s thoughts back to reality.

Liu Yan got up from the bed and opened the door.

Standing behind the door was the GTI Commander.

Two days ago, Deep Blue had specifically taken Liu Yan to meet him.

Basically, all missions for the Operators were issued by him.

After the door was opened, the Commander first saluted Liu Yan.

The latter, taken aback, mimicked the action and returned the salute.

”Operator Liu Yan, this is your first mission.”

”The relevant mission information has already been sent to your phone.”

After saying this, the Commander handed a brand-new phone to Liu Yan.

”You even get a free phone?!”

After taking it, Liu Yan was surprised by the cool, smooth touch of the phone.

The Commander nodded slightly.

”Every Operator possesses an exclusive personal device issued by the organization.”

”It is usually used to receive missions.”

”Although this is your first mission, due to your shooting performance, the difficulty of this mission is not low.”

”If any accidents occur during the mission, you can call for reinforcements via the phone at any time.”

After the Commander finished explaining all the precautions, he saluted Liu Yan and left.

Clutching the phone, Liu Yan’s breathing became slightly rapid.

Having joined the GTI for so many days, this was the first time Liu Yan had received a mission.

To say he wasn’t looking forward to it would be a lie.

Unable to wait, Liu Yan opened the phone and saw the mission information.

Immediately, his initial look of anticipation gradually faded.

Instead, it turned into a deadpan stare.

Mission Rank: Normal.

Mission Requirements:

1. Go to Amiya Town in the Longbow Stream Valley area and place a Queen of Spades at the designated location (you must prepare the Queen of Spades yourself).

2. Go to Amiya Town in the Longbow Stream Valley area and place a King of Spades at the designated location (you must prepare the King of Spades yourself).

Seeing the mission content, Liu Yan even wondered if he had misread it.

A sense of absurdity welled up in his heart.

Placing playing cards in a designated area would be understandable if it involved adding some tracking chips or something similar.

But what the hell does ”prepare yourself” mean?

His mission was just to go find two useless playing cards.

And then put them in the locations marked on the map above?

Are they sick?

Liu Yan scratched his head, put down the phone, and helplessly changed his clothes.

Although this mission had many ridiculous points.

At the very least, it was safe.

He would just treat it as going out for some fresh air.

After leaving the dormitory area, Liu Yan walked all the way to the entrance of the Special Operations Department.

Along the way, Liu Yan also saw quite a few other Operators.

Of course, the few Operators he was most familiar with from the day he arrived were not among them.

”Is it just because I’m Bronze level that I don’t even get a helicopter pickup?”

Liu Yan shook his head.

It seemed that not only did he have to prepare the playing cards himself.

But he even had to go to Longbow Stream Valley by himself.

Fortunately, the ability of that infantry fighting vehicle model in his quantum storage could directly transform into a real infantry fighting vehicle.

After getting far away from the Special Operations Department, Liu Yan didn’t hesitate to summon the infantry fighting vehicle.

After entering the infantry fighting vehicle, Liu Yan familiarized himself with the internal tablet operation method, then followed the navigation on his phone and drove all the way to Longbow Stream Valley.

Two Operators who had just finished their mission and were walking back to the Special Operations Department saw this scene from afar.

”Buddy, did I see that right... that Operator just summoned an airdropped vehicle out of thin air?”

The other Operator watched the departing infantry fighting vehicle, his eyes filled with jealousy.

”Do you even have to ask? This is obviously the treatment only top-tier Operators get.”

”Unlike us, who have to run to do a B-rank mission.”

”Before joining this organization, I thought it was something high-class.”

”Who would have thought that the benefits are terrible, and we only make about 200,000 haf coins a month after working ourselves to the bone.”

Hearing the other say this, the other Operator sighed helplessly as well.

”Who told us to be weak? If we could pass the assessment to become top-tier Operators, wouldn’t we have the same treatment?”

”Don’t be stupid, do you really think until you die that it’s because you didn’t work hard enough?”

”The most ordinary employee at Hafke makes 2 million haf coins a month!”

”Choice is more important than hard work. Once I turn in this mission and get paid, I’m quitting the GTI.”

”What?” the other Operator looked at him in disbelief.

”Shh! Stop yelling!” The Operator who said he wanted to join Hafke glared and covered the other’s mouth.

After breaking free, the latter asked in surprise:

”That much? What are the requirements to join?”

The Operator who wanted to join Hafke was stunned after hearing this.

He had originally thought his comrade was surprised that he was quitting the GTI.

As it turned out, the other person was just shocked by Hafke’s salary.

”If you’re interested, want to come with me?”

”No kidding, of course I’m coming. GTI’s terrible benefits—whoever stays knows.”

”I went to Bakshi, and the armor set they gave me was only level three. Even some of the elite Soldiers of Asara are wearing level four armor!”

”Alright.”

After speaking, the two walked toward the Special Operations Department with determined looks in their eyes.

...

Amiya Town.

Liu Yan stood under the tower that was under renovation, looking down at the designated location on his phone.

After looking, he looked up at the top of the tower.

”This mission is a bit strange.”

Liu Yan helplessly rubbed his forehead.

Amiya Town still had many Asara residents living there.

And this mission wanted him to do it in full view of everyone.

Put two playing cards up there?

”I’ll just have to wait until night.”

Liu Yan shook his head and found a sparsely populated place to sit down.

Waiting until nightfall, when the residents of Amiya Town were so sparse that no one could be seen, Liu Yan finally stood up from the ground.

Originally, Liu Yan had planned to go buy a deck of playing cards somewhere.

Later, he discovered that there was actually a pile of playing cards inside the powerful vacuum cleaner in his quantum storage.

This directly saved him the time of having to look for playing cards.

Liu Yan looked up at the height.

He estimated the height in his mind; if he did a little run-up and kicked off the wall, he could go straight up even without a ladder.

But due to the fact that it would make quite a bit of noise, he ultimately chose to climb up using a ladder.

Just as Liu Yan was climbing, his ears twitched slightly.

Some faint sounds from the distance gradually crept into his ears.

”What’s that sound?”

Liu Yan slowly stopped his movements and began to listen carefully to the sounds around him.

”Helicopter? weapon?”

After carefully identifying them, Liu Yan confirmed the targets of the sounds.

It was worth noting that these sounds were getting louder and louder, seemingly approaching Amiya Town.

”The battle situation between Hafke and Asara is indeed chaotic...”

”They can actually start fighting in the middle of the night.”

At this dead of night, it was almost unnecessary to think to know.

It was Hafke coming to Longbow Stream Valley to launch an attack on Asara.

But this had nothing to do with him; he was just here to complete his mission.

”I need to hurry up and place the playing cards and leave.”

Relying on his agile skills, Liu Yan didn’t spend much effort successfully placing the two playing cards at the designated location.

Bang!

Bang!

Just as Liu Yan was preparing to leave.

Several searchlights shone on his face at the same time.
