[Realm of the First Blacksmith] (Lv. MAX)

Rarity: Ancient (Special)

In their pursuit to achieve the pinnacle of blacksmithing, the First Blacksmith devoted years of their life to the craft, toiling without end.

With them at the forefront of the craft itself, it went without saying that they were forced to rely on no one but themselves, trekking and discovering the path that would lead them to the pinnacle on their own.

Fortunately, even with the incessant number of twists and turns that they took on the path, the First Blacksmith moved closer and closer towards this goal, gradually reaching a realm of blacksmithing that approached that so-called pinnacle.

Then, on one fateful day, just as the First Blacksmith felt that they had reached the limit of what blacksmithing had to offer, the gate of a higher realm of blacksmithing was opened, allowing them to witness the beauty of blacksmithing in full bloom.

Though the cause behind the opening of the gate was unknown, after reaching this higher realm of blacksmithing, the First Blacksmith found out that they had gained access to a special world where blacksmithing could reach even greater heights.

Being the first to enter this special world, the First Blacksmith showed no hesitation in declaring it as their dominion, making it a realm where only those who have at least touched upon the pinnacle of blacksmithing could enter.

This skill allows the user to conjure a gate that would give them access to a highly customizable subspace greatly attuned to the craft of blacksmithing.

Within this subspace, all skills related to the First Blacksmith class can be activated at reduced cost and cooldown.

The space and quality of the subspace, as well as the cost and time needed to activate certain skills can be improved through the infusion of specific amounts of energy.

Though the words used to describe the skill were pretty clear, Valyr still could not help but look at the screen in confusion even after he was finished going through its description.

After all, the skill was unlike any of the other skills he had received from his main class thus far.

ʼ…Why, though?ʼ asked the young man to himself once more, repeating the same words he had just said out loud. ʼWhatʼs the reason behind getting a skill like this?ʼ

As he pondered over the question, the young man briefly went through all of the skills his main class had given him thus far, immediately confirming that all of them improved his abilities in blacksmithing to a great degree.

Even the other skill heʼd gotten from the ascension, [Blessing of the First Blacksmith], fell under this category, seeing as it significantly improved the capabilities of the equipment he made.

However, as he looked at [Realm of the First Blacksmith] a couple more times, the young man felt as if he had finally gotten a dud skill from such a wondrous class.

After all, the only thing that made the skill related to his class in some way was the fact that any of the skills he used that came from his main class would have both its cost and cooldown reduced to a certain extent.

Other than that, it was practically a skill that just gave him access to a personal subspace.

Of course, that did not mean that he thought of the skill as entirely useless.

Even the fact that the skill could serve as another spatial storage of sorts was already enough to reduce the negative feelings he felt the first time he took a look at the skill.

Yet, compared to all of the other skills his main class had given him…

[Realm of the First Blacksmith] was truly lackluster.

ʼ…I suppose the skill would only start to become more appealing if I were to upgrade it,ʼ thought Valyr to himself as he looked through the various paths he could choose to upgrade the skill.

Seeing that all of the initial upgrades cost a significant amount of his energy, the young man thought that the skill was similar to the [Prime Azure Refinement Sutra] in that aspect.

Specifically, the part where allowing the skill to reach its limits needed him to first spend an insane amount of energy.

ʼ…ʼ Remaining silent as he continued to stare at the screen in front of him, Valyr eventually decided to upgrade the area of the subspace, immediately feeling the equivalent of 100,000 points of Prime Azure Energy being taken away from his body the moment he did.

Ding!

[You have upgraded Realm of the First Blacksmithʼs land area to Lv. 2.]

[The total land area of the realm has been increased to 15 square meters.]

ʼHmm.ʼ Returning his attention back to the skillʼs description after going through the notifications he received, Valyr noticed that the cost to upgrade the subspaceʼs land area remained the same.

Curious to see if any of the upgrades would increase their costs at some point, the young man decided to increase the area of the subspace even further.

After all, out of all of the choices he had to upgrade the skill, it was the one that seemed the most worthwhile.

Ding!

[You have upgraded…]

[…]

[You have upgraded…]

Spending 100,000 points of Prime Azure Energy with every upgrade, Valyr watched as the figure corresponding to the subspaceʼs land area went up by five every time.

Though, once he upgraded the subspaceʼs land area to Level 10…

Ding!

[You have upgraded Realm of the First Blacksmithʼs land area to Lv. 10.]

[The total land area of the realm has been increased to 100 square meters.]

[The upgrade cost has been increased to 200,000 energy.]

ʼ…Wow.ʼ

Seeing that upgrading the subspaceʼs land area increased it by five square meters every time he upgraded its level, the young man initially expected the total land area of the subspace to only reach 55 meters by the time he got it to Level 10.

However, rather than stop at 55 meters, the area of the subspace instead doubled after the upgrade, prompting Valyr to do a bit of mental calculation because of it.

ʼ…I see.ʼ

Glancing at the sole upgrade on the skill that had reached double digits, the young man had a look of understanding on his face as he went through the improvements the upgrades brought in his mind.

ʼOnce an upgrade reaches Level 10, both the effects of the previous upgrades and the cost to upgrade it would be doubled,ʼ he muttered to himself as he faintly nodded.

ʼIn that case, itʼs safe to assume that the same thing will happen once I push the upgrade to Level 20… though Iʼd still have to do some testing to see if my hypothesis is correct.ʼ

ʼNevertheless, the fact that the effects of the upgrades double every 10 levels already makes the skill a bit better than before.ʼ

With those thoughts lingering in his mind, it went without saying that Valyr planned on upgrading all of the skillʼs aspects to around Level 20 at the very least.

Though, before he could start going on an upgrading spree…

”Hey, Valyr?”

”You wonʼt believe what I just got.”
