High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 1553: Chapter 297: The Forgotten Fu Bullet

”Why did you refuse?”

”Why should I agree?”

”You’re a captive... Captives should have the awareness of a captive. Help us leave this world, and we’ll write letters to the school and the Black Prison to ask for leniency for you.”

”Can you let me leave the Black Prison?”

Of course, this was completely impossible. Zheng Qing’s face darkened. Although he had threatened the Female Demon with a Charm Gun, forcing her to choose between death and the Black Prison, it didn’t mean he had thoroughly controlled her.

Any sign of weakness could result in backlash.

The young Wizard shook the Charm Gun in his hand, commanding in a firm tone, ”You have no choice.”

Nikita looked at the barrel of the gun, a flash of fear in her eyes, but her attitude was as resolute as Zheng Qing’s tone: ”Indeed, I have no choice... So, why should I help you?”

Her words sounded a bit perplexing.

Seemingly sensing the young Wizard’s confusion, the Female Demon paused before adding, ”Being killed by you with one shot, being killed by that Black Wizard, or being polluted by those memories from the Starry Sky... makes no difference. So why should I, among these non-existent choices, choose the option that benefits you the most?”

Her words had the rhythm of a tongue-twister, yet were not hard to grasp. Zheng Qing immediately understood her concerns.

”Why do you think he would kill you?” He consoled, ”You’re helping him, and he knows it... Besides, we still have some Lourdes Holy Water. You won’t be corrupted by those memories.”

Nikita fixed her gaze deeply on the Warlock:

”If a Black Wizard would allow you to enter his house, crack open his skull, meddle with the secret substances in the grooves of his Grey Matter, and tamper with the medium between his soul and flesh... then he wouldn’t be a Black Wizard.”

”Nor would a White Sorcerer agree to such a thing.” Zhang Ji Xin touched his head, imagining the eerie scene, shuddering as he mumbled under his breath.

Zheng Qing glared angrily, giving him a fierce look. The red-faced Male Wizard immediately raised a hand and made a zipper-shutting gesture near his mouth, signaling his silence.

Then, Zheng Qing turned back to the Female Demon, pleading earnestly, ”... If we just negotiate properly with him, he might be willing to let you tamper with his brain.”

Even he had little confidence in his own words.

”Exactly,” Nikita sneered openly, her face mocking, ”He might be willing, but those tendrils on him might not... Do you think they’ll strangle me outright, or tie me tight and hang me from the rafters to dry?”

The Blue Fatty beside them lowered his head, letting out a quiet chuckle.

Zheng Qing shot a disgruntled glance at his companion and sighed at the Female Demon: ”When you ate a certain Wizard with knife and fork, you should’ve foreseen something like this happening someday.”

”But not today!”

A slender tendril once again stretched out from beside Zheng Qing, swaying lightly, making a suggestive gesture: ”I have a proposal—would you like to hear it?”

They had grown accustomed to its frequent appearances, so they remained unshaken by its sudden intervention.

Zheng Qing glanced at the tendril covered in clustered eyeballs: ”Are you suggesting cooking those tendrils before letting Nikita perform a craniotomy on you? ... Oh, Nikita is the name of this Female Demon.”

”It’s a great name,” several mouths on the tendril complimented in unison but refused Zheng Qing’s suggestion: ”However, as your companion said, even White Sorcerers dislike having their skulls cracked open... especially when it’s one dangerous Witch Demon doing the cracking.”

”Then what do you want to say?”

”Can you draw talismans?” The mouths on the tendril posed a puzzling question to Zheng Qing.

”Draw talismans?” The young Wizard raised an eyebrow, his response tinged with pride and restraint: ”Ordinary talismans are naturally no challenge for me... Though if it’s an ancient talisman, I might need some time to study.”

”No, it’s not anything difficult,” the mansion’s owner replied eagerly. The eyeballs on the tendril seemed to soften and elongate, appearing more approachable: ”Just an ordinary Forgetfulness Talisman.”

”Forgetfulness Talisman?” Zheng Qing skeptically looked at the tendril before craning his neck to glance at the half-open main door behind the Female Demon, as though confirming whether this request truly originated from the mansion’s owner.

Behind the door, that blurred face faintly nodded, responding to the young Wizard’s concern.

This only deepened Zheng Qing’s confusion.

A Forgetfulness Talisman is essentially the result of transforming the Forgetfulness Spell into talisman paper form. Theoretically, the effects of a Forgetfulness Talisman should be comparable to the Forgetfulness Spell. However, like other talismans, the Forgetfulness Talisman sacrifices a bit of its potency—possibly due to imprecise Rune detailing by its creator, prolonged storage of the talisman paper, or irregular Qi Eye binding—in exchange for more convenient use. The Forgetfulness Spell requires the use of Law Book, Spell Formula, chanting, and other ceremonial steps for activation, making it more complex while retaining full power.

It was precisely because the talisman paper was less effective than the spell that Zheng Qing had instinctively dismissed this option after discussing the pros and cons earlier.

”I thought we had already ruled out this possibility,” the Warlock waved dismissively, shaking his head: ”I don’t think a talisman will be stronger than the spells cast by us together.”

”What if the talisman paper were wrapped into a Fu Bullet instead?” The tendril pointed subtly at the Charm Gun in the Warlock’s hand, reminding him: ”I’d like you to draw a talisman and wrap it into a Fu Bullet... utilizing the power of that gun.”

The power of that gun?

Zheng Qing immediately grasped the mansion owner’s intent. Perhaps this was the sharp insight of a Big Wizard, able to sense the rule-breaking force contained within Zheng Qing’s Charm Gun.

”Just one talisman is enough, correct?”

”The more powerful, the better.”

”A Blood Symbol Bullet,” Zheng Qing nodded, though he felt unsure: ”This isn’t difficult... but I don’t know if my ’Dreamland’ self exists ’truly’—whether the nature of the blood here has changed.”

”Appearance, essence, attributes—all of that is irrelevant.” The tendril spiraled nimbly in mid-air, forming sophisticated Runes: ”... The key is essence—the essence of why your Blood Symbol Bullet is so powerful. As long as the essence remains unchanged, then the Blood Symbol Bullet you create will meet my requirements.”

”There’s only one issue left,” Zheng Qing tightened his grip on the Charm Gun, glancing at Nikita: ”While I’m drawing the talisman, what happens to her?”

Several thick tendrils noiselessly slid inside through the mansion’s windows and doors, wrapping themselves around the Female Demon’s limbs. They also bound Zhuzhu tightly, leaving him hanging upside down.
