Elderly Prince: My Spirit Increases by 1 Point Daily

Chapter 242: Chapter 241: Son of an Old Friend

’They’re quite cautious. And stronger than I expected.’

Xia Wuyang’s gaze fell upon the Water Prison, a cold glint flashing across his brow.

It was a stone structure, half-buried in the ground. The iron gate at its entrance was quite thick, with chains as thick as a man’s arm.

Through his Mental Force Field, he could ”see” the scene inside the prison.

Groundwater had seeped in, rising to knee-level. The walls were covered in moss, and the air was thick with the stench of mildew and blood. The conditions were utterly dreadful.

Deep within the cells, in one of the rooms, two figures were chained to stone pillars.

The young man on the left was in his early twenties. He had sharp eyebrows, bright eyes, and a high-bridged nose. Even with his face covered in blood and grime and his clothes in tatters, he couldn’t hide his heroic aura. His Cultivation was also quite impressive, having already reached Fourth Grade Perfection.

’However, compared to Zhao Tianxiong, the Vice Gang Leader of the Cao Bang, he’s still far too weak. That man is a First Grade Grandmaster. With such a massive gap in power, how did they dare to try and assassinate him?’

Xia Wuyang was puzzled. ’I’ll have to ask them about it later.’

A gash so deep the bone was visible ran across his chest, blood soaking his tattered clothes. His eyes were closed, his breathing faint. This was Yue Yulong. He bore a striking resemblance to Yue Zhan, and Xia Wuyang recognized him at a glance.

The young woman on the right had a slender figure. Her damp black hair clung to her pale cheeks, which only served to make her jade-like skin stand out even more. She looked like a figure who had stepped out of a painting.

Her features were exquisitely, almost perfectly, crafted, yet her brow held a heroic, masculine air. Though she resembled Yue Yulong, she possessed her own unique, stunning beauty.

She was currently gritting her teeth, trying to break the chains, her wrists already worn to a bloody pulp.

This was Yue Yufeng. Just as the secret report had stated, she was devastatingly beautiful and exuded a commanding presence.

’If General Yue could see this from the afterlife, he would be quite pleased. Both of his children are truly exceptional, even more so than I imagined.’

Yue Yufeng’s Cultivation had also reached Fourth Grade Perfection, just a hair’s breadth away from the Upper Three Grades.

To reach such a level in their twenties showed how strong their Talent and Qualification were. They were on par with, if not superior to, Yue Zhan—one might even say they far surpassed him.

After a closer look, Xia Wuyang was surprised to find that both of their Talent and Qualification were at the Talent Level, not far from reaching ”Peerless.”

’To think, after consuming so many resources and treasures, my own Talent and Qualification is only at the Talent Level. It’s not even as good as Yue Yulong’s and Yue Yufeng’s.’

But when he thought about Yue Zhan’s Talent and Qualification back then, and that of his wife, it wasn’t hard to understand.

That couple had both possessed Talent and Qualification at the Talent Level. Otherwise, how could they have become two of the top three generals in the Imperial Guard at such a young age, earning his appreciation and becoming his left and right hands, on the same level as Mo Qianqiu?

What a pity that Yue Zhan and his wife were ultimately killed by treacherous villains.

Outside the cell, two guards were drinking by the light of an oil lamp, their gazes periodically landing on the enchanting Yue Yufeng, the lust in their eyes plain to see.

”Tsk, tsk, this little wench is a real looker. Prettier than any Courtesan on the White Dragon River. It’s a shame Master Zhao gave orders not to touch her. She’s to be interrogated in public tomorrow.” The tall, thin guard took a swig of wine, his eyes narrowed as he stared at Yue Yufeng, looking like he wanted to devour her whole.

The short, fat guard sneered. ”Interrogate my ass. Don’t you get what Master Zhao means? He wants to kill the siblings in public to make a statement. Now that the Third Prince has fallen, a lot of the higher-ups in the gang are getting restless. Killing these two remnants not only lets him get his revenge, but it also makes Master Zhao look loyal to the throne. It’s killing two birds with one stone. If he can use this chance to get in good with His Majesty, he’ll have really hit the jackpot.”

”What a waste of that face and body. She’s a real beauty. I’d give up ten years of my life to sleep with her for one night,” the tall, thin guard said, smacking his lips, feeling a fire he couldn’t control.

The moment the words left his mouth, he suddenly felt a chill on his neck.

He looked down and saw a blood-red thread, as thin as a hair, wrapped around his throat. In the next instant, his consciousness plunged into endless darkness.

The short, fat guard beside him was about to cry out when another red thread pierced through the center of his brow.

These were threads formed from Qi and Blood Power, controlled by Spiritual Power. Even without using any Combat Techniques and Secret Techniques, they were far more than two Middle Three Grades Martial Artists could ever hope to withstand.

The two bodies crumpled to the ground without a sound.

With a CLICK, the lock on the cell door sprang open on its own, and a figure in green slowly walked inside.

Yue Yufeng’s head snapped up. Her eyes showed fierce vigilance and a hint of despair. She thought someone had sent an expert to silence them secretly, preventing Zhao Tianxiong’s plot from succeeding.

However, the newcomer was not who she expected. He wore a green robe and a Cloak. His face was plain, but his eyes were so deep they seemed capable of holding everything.

”Who... Who are you?” Yue Yufeng’s voice was hoarse, but she still struggled to straighten her back. Even if she were to die, she would not tarnish her father’s name.

Xia Wuyang didn’t answer her. With a flick of his finger, two streams of Qi Blood formed into thin blades, severing the siblings’ chains with two sharp CLANGS.

The moment she was free, Yue Yufeng instinctively struck out with a palm toward Xia Wuyang’s face. The blow was quite powerful. She didn’t trust this sudden rescue, believing Xia Wuyang had ulterior motives.

Her palm stopped in mid-air, frozen in place.

It wasn’t that she didn’t want to strike; her body had suddenly gone rigid, as if bound by invisible chains. She couldn’t even move a fingertip.

Yue Yufeng’s pupils contracted. Her Cultivation was at Fourth Grade Perfection, making her a prodigy among the younger generation, yet before this man in green, she was as helpless as an infant, completely unable to fight back.

”If you want revenge, then don’t waste your strength,” Xia Wuyang said coolly. His voice, heavily disguised, was low and gravelly, making it impossible to identify him.

He walked over to Yue Yulong and placed a hand on his chest.

Pure Qi and Blood Power flowed into him. At the same time, Xia Wuyang fed him a High Level Mortal Medicine to treat his injuries.

The Qi Blood was as gentle as a spring stream, quickly sealing the wound’s blood vessels and nourishing his damaged internal organs. The medicine began to take effect as well.

Yue Yulong let out a muffled groan and slowly regained consciousness.

”Feng... Feng’er?”

He looked around in a daze. He saw his sister was safe, then saw the guards’ bodies on the floor, and finally, his gaze landed on Xia Wuyang. ”Senior, you are...”

”Someone here to save you. An old friend from the past. Can you walk?” Xia Wuyang withdrew his hand.

Yue Yulong gritted his teeth and stood up. He staggered but managed to steady himself. ”I can!”

”If you can, then follow me.” Xia Wuyang turned and walked toward the prison exit.

The siblings exchanged a glance, each seeing the suspicion in the other’s eyes. But at this moment, they had no other choice but to grit their teeth and follow.

Outside, the torrential rain continued to pour, as if trying to drown the world.

Yue Yulong and Yue Yufeng watched in astonishment as Xia Wuyang strode brazenly out of the Water Prison. He was quickly discovered, and the sound of urgent footsteps and shouts echoed from all around: ”Assassin! There’s trouble at the Water Prison!”
