Elderly Prince: My Spirit Increases by 1 Point Daily

Chapter 207: Chapter 206: Pillaging the Inner Treasury

Having learned Xia Shengming’s secrets and the truth of what had happened, Xia Wuyang now knew what to do.

Zheng Zhicang possessed some Spirit Level Treasures, and even a few Spiritual Artifacts, but they were best suited for Zheng Zhicang’s use. For Xia Wuyang, their effects were limited.

Xia Wuyang did not take them, leaving them with Zheng Zhicang so that he could maintain his cover and not be exposed.

He then used the Soul Enchantment Technique to erase parts of Zheng Zhicang’s memory from the evening. Now, Zheng Zhicang didn’t know that it was Xia Wuyang who had enslaved him, only that the man who had done so was called the Emperor.

As for the Spirit Talismans on Zheng Zhicang’s person, Xia Wuyang took most of them, leaving only a small portion behind to avoid arousing Emperor Xia’s suspicion.

Besides, he was now one of Xia Wuyang’s three loyal servants. It was only natural that he should have some means to protect himself.

”For now, act as you always have. Don’t arouse suspicion.”

After dealing with Zheng Zhicang, Xia Wuyang left.

Zheng Zhicang bowed respectfully. From this day forward, he was no longer a loyal minister to Emperor Xia, but a loyal servant to Xia Wuyang.

Back in Wenhua Hall, as he watched the first glimmer of dawn in the distance, a monstrous hatred churned in the depths of Xia Wuyang’s eyes.

’A blood feud spanning decades, the debt for his mother’s life, the humiliation of his own deposal, the tragic fate of the Crown Prince Faction... At last, he finally knew who the enemy was, and he could slowly see a glimmer of hope for revenge.’

’All of this still required him to continuously raise his Cultivation Realm. Once he had enough power, he would settle every score from these past years, one by one.’

When morning came, Xia Wuyang resumed his ”pursuit of pleasure,” appearing to be ”immersed” in debauchery and unable to extricate himself. Everything seemed to be business as usual.

But no one knew that at this very moment, a colossal volcano was brewing within Wenhua Hall, its eruption drawing ever closer.

In the afternoon, after a tryst with Hanik’s Heart, Xia Wuyang received a message delivered by a bird—a message left by Cao Zhenghe in a designated spot. It said that another jar of a Miracle Treasure had been added to the Inner Treasury.

It was Monkey Wine, aged over eight hundred years and only recently finished brewing. It was, one could say, the Miracle Treasure Xia Wuyang was most familiar with.

With this jar of eight-hundred-year-old Monkey Wine, Super Grade Perfection was no longer a distant goal for him. As long as he could reach Super Grade Perfection and purge all the impurities from his Dantian and the surrounding pathways, he would be able to condense a True Qi Seed and step into the True Monarch Realm.

’In that case, there’s no need to be so cautious anymore. The eruption isn’t far off, anyway.’

’Besides, after learning the truth last night, the rage in my heart is already towering. It’s time to vent it properly.’

’It’s time to take the Special Miracle Treasure I’ve been eyeing for so long—the Jade Marrow Reishi.’

A cold light flickered in Xia Wuyang’s eyes. He couldn’t even wait for nightfall. That afternoon, he entered his Practice Room, quickly applied a Disguise, donned a Cloak, and stealthily departed, making his way toward the Inner Treasury.

He didn’t have Cao Zhenghe lead the way this time. Xia Wuyang was already extremely familiar with the place and slipped inside with ease, beginning his plunder.

His Personal Space was over three hundred cubic meters, large enough to hold a small palace, let alone the resources and treasures within the Inner Treasury.

Since Xia Wuyang was only taking the most precious items, there was more than enough room.

’After being kept in the dark for so many years, it’s time to make Xia Shengming pay some interest. Let him know what it truly feels like to lose something precious.’

’Mother must have been in so much pain when Xia Shengming stole all those Miracle Treasures from her. They were gifts she had been preparing for me, her son, for so long.’

Once inside the Inner Treasury, Xia Wuyang immediately began his raid. He paid no mind to ordinary gold, silver, and jewelry; the least valuable items he targeted were rare Elixirs, Mortal Artifacts, and ores.

One by one, every valuable resource and treasure was collected into his Personal Space, with nothing left behind.

The resources and treasures in the Inner Treasury vanished into his Personal Space at a visible rate, steadily filling the somewhat empty expanse.

Thousands of pounds of various rare medicinal herbs, hundreds of thousands of pounds of rare ores, all kinds of rare woods over several centuries old, bottle after bottle of priceless Mortal Elixirs and Medicines... all of it was taken.

The massive Inner Treasury emptied out at a visible rate. In just over an hour, the once-packed treasury became desolate. Essentially all the good items had been plundered.

Only then did Xia Wuyang approach the place where the Special Mortal Treasure, the Jade Marrow Reishi, was stored. It was the prize he had coveted for a long time.

He had refrained from taking it before due to various concerns, but now that those concerns were gone, he would naturally take it all.

The Jade Marrow Reishi was jade-like throughout, its cap naturally adorned with cloud-like patterns. It contained a pure, special medicinal power that could enhance one’s Talent and Qualification and heal all manner of hidden injuries. Among Mortal Level Heavenly Materials and Earthly Treasures, it was one of the most valuable kinds.

The area around it was set with mechanisms and traps, and even protected by a Spirit Talisman. However, Xia Wuyang had Spirit Talismans as well. He expended one to break through the defenses and smoothly retrieved the stalk of Jade Marrow Reishi.

Although there were alarm mechanisms, his Mental Force Field allowed him to perceive every detail, and none were triggered. Just like that, it was in Xia Wuyang’s hands.

Besides the Jade Marrow Reishi, there were also some other Middle-Low Level Miracle Treasures, and of course, the recently stored eight-hundred-year-old Monkey Wine was not to be missed. Although it had not yet reached the level of a Top Level Mortal Treasure, it was considered among the best of the High Level Mortal Treasures.

As for whether it would be enough to help Xia Wuyang break through from the Super Grade Late Stage to Super Grade Perfection, that was still a bit uncertain. If the opportunity arose later, he would see if he could obtain another High Level Mortal Treasure.

With the combined power of two High Level Mortal Treasures, he could definitely break through to Super Grade Perfection. Once he had cleared out all the impurities, he could charge toward the True Monarch Realm and step into the True Monarch Level before Xia Shengming.

One by one, Xia Wuyang also plundered all the resources and treasures hidden in individual secret compartments and hidden rooms. Anything stored separately and protected by dedicated mechanisms and traps was guaranteed to be a treasure.

It took him several hours and a considerable amount of time and effort to finally clear everything out.

He didn’t even spare the many Cultivation Techniques, Combat Techniques, and Secret Techniques. Even if he couldn’t use them himself, he could use them to build up his own power base.

By the time his Personal Space was nearly full, the vast Inner Treasury had become rather desolate. All that remained were items of low value and large volume, things Xia Wuyang disdained to take.

Nearly a hundred years of Emperor Xia’s accumulation had basically all fallen into his hands.

But this was not enough. Through Cao Zhenghe and Zheng Zhicang, Xia Wuyang also had a good understanding of the situation in the National Treasury.

He returned once in the interim, quickly dallied with a few beauties, and was then sent groaning back to his Practice Room to ”recover his energy” and ”recuperate.”

In reality, Xia Wuyang had already applied another Disguise and was stealthily making his way toward the National Treasury.

The National Treasury was not far from the Imperial Palace, located just nearby. Although its defenses couldn’t compare to the Inner Treasury’s, they were still extremely strict, guarded by multiple Grandmasters and Great Grandmasters, and even a Super Grade Celestial Human hidden in the vicinity.
