I Contracted All Ancient Divine Artifacts

Chapter 114: Chapter 13: Buling, Bulong, I’m a Robot

”Detected energy fluctuation exceeding threshold.”

”Explosion analysis: Mechanical Research Institute - Primordial Energy Power Reserve Center ignited, causing a chain explosion.”

”Current regional head, Five Stars Abnormal Skeleton Warrior Shang Lin has lost contact.”

”Incident level escalated, current level, Level One!”

As line after line of text appeared on the big screen, the Heaven Net Center was now operating at high speed. They had severely underestimated the potential hazard that mouse might cause!

The Mechanical Research Institute, no, now it should be called, half of the Mechanical Research Institute.

Raising his head, Han Zhan looked at the incredibly dazzling fire in the distance, reflected in his eyes, and in his pupils, the roaring fire.

”Wang Chunyu...” Han Zhan silently whispered his name, ”Congratulations, you’re a hero too.”

After saying this, he didn’t linger, and without looking back, headed towards the third escape point!

Wang Chunyu had bought him enough time, but this approach was also a double-edged sword.

Because the commotion made was too big.

Although a wave of pursuers was cleared, Heaven Net’s brain must have already raised the risk level of this place again, and this time, the next ones to come might not just be Five Stars Abnormal Skeleton Warriors.

When that time comes, it will be extremely difficult for him to escape from here again!

The third escape point was the garbage depot of the Mechanical Research Institute.

In here, it was piled full of various research garbage, and at a fixed time every night, there would be a garbage cleaning discharge.

This was precisely his chance to escape from here.

As soon as Han Zhan entered the garbage depot, he was shocked by the dense scene of garbage in front of him.

It’s hard to imagine that just one day, a Mechanical Research Institute could produce so much garbage.

He continued to walk deeper inside, and in the garbage mountains, he saw severed limbs belonging to humans, with half a palm sticking out, still giving the middle finger.

On the other side of the garbage mountains, there were a few severed heads, surprisingly, it was those young people who had been shouting profanities at ”Han Zhan” when they were brought here at the same time.

No one knew where their bodies went, the heads were split open, with various red and white fluids flowing, mingling, making the entire air thick with the smell of blood.

Scenes like this were numerous.

The cruelty and madness of the Can Shang Company could be glimpsed here.

Han Zhan frowned and continued walking inside, the fixed time for garbage discharge was at one in the morning, based on the information transmitted to him by Shang Xiaoyun’s mind, he quickened his pace.

At this moment, he suddenly sensed something unusual.

A feeling of being secretly watched.

Someone?!

Han Zhan suddenly stopped in his tracks.

As a Martial Artist stronger than ordinary people, he has extremely keen six senses.

Once a gaze lingers on him for more than three seconds, he would notice it.

The feeling of being scrutinized, surely wasn’t wrong!

Just as Han Zhan stopped in his tracks, the feeling of being watched also vanished immediately.

Not convinced, he continued walking forward, and after walking just a few steps, that feeling of being watched returned.

Han Zhan closed his eyes, recalling the vague direction from where the sensation of being watched originated, he suddenly opened his eyes and turned to dash towards a pile of garbage.

The garbage heap before him had already piled into a small hill, not particularly conspicuous among the vast ”garbage mountains.”

When Han Zhan overturned the garbage heap, he saw a strange hunk of iron.

”A robot?” Han Zhan cautiously stood on guard, noticing that this hunk of iron robot remained motionless, seemingly completely scrapped.

He pulled it entirely out of the garbage mountain.

Indeed, it was a small robot beyond doubt.

However, this robot was in a very dilapidated state, its crudely made arms and legs barely connected with rusty hydraulic rods, with a square-shaped head, barely resembling a robot.

It was only as tall as Han Zhan’s calf, such a crude robot, it was the first time for Han Zhan to see one.

”Stop pretending, tell me, who exactly are you?”

Han Zhan looked at the small robot before him, asking in a not-so-friendly tone.

The small robot remained motionless.

”Still pretending? Have you ever seen a robot that closes its eyes? Scrapped robots always have their eyes open.”

Upon hearing this, the small robot obediently opened its eyes.

”Really?” The electronic voice sounded, the voice was somewhat hoarse and raspy, evidently, its voice module was already rusty.

”Fake.” Han Zhan answered quite honestly.

Who would be bothered to notice whether a robot closed its eyes or not? That would be absurd.

Small robot: ”...”

”Now can you tell me, who are you?” Han Zhan asked again.

”Buling, Bulong, I am a robot.” The small robot replied very mechanically.

”I know you’re a robot, but you likely don’t belong to Can Shang Company, at least not currently. Judging by the rusty old parts on you, you must have been here for over a hundred years.”

Only the mechanical parts of Can Shang Company could remain usable, rotted yet uncorroded for over a century.

At this moment, one had to admit, this bunch of scientific madmen did possess some artisan spirit.

”Buling, Bulong, I am a robot.” The small robot mechanically repeated this sentence, as if it only knew this one sentence.

Han Zhan’s face darkened.

He knew this was the other side retaliating against him, but for sure, this robot would not be an enemy.

The previous conversation was just a probe, as long as the robot showed hostility, or contacted the Heaven Net’s brain to relay his location in the garbage depot.

By now, there would have been pursuers arriving outside the garbage depot.

But there weren’t any.

”How about this, let’s make a deal, you give a straightforward confession, and I’ll consider taking you out of here.”

Han Zhan proposed his terms.

”Buling, Bulong...”

”Plus, I’ll replace your body with the finest materials.”

”Really?” The small robot tilted its head and asked.

”This time, it’s true.” Han Zhan replied very confidently.

Indeed, for robots, enhancing the exterior appearance and performance was an irresistible lure.

The novels didn’t deceive me.

Han Zhan and the small robot soon reached an agreement, and the small robot no longer pretended to be naive, showing its rather human side.

It sat cross-legged like a human, waiting together with Han Zhan for 1 o’clock in the morning to arrive.

”Who exactly are you?”

”Who am I? I don’t even know who I am. Since I woke up, I’ve been here in this garbage depot.”

”Then why don’t you go out.”

”Go out? You mean to leave here? But what’s the point of going out alone? I’m a robot, I don’t need food, drink, excretion, or any form of entertainment, I just need to stay here.”

Such a response left Han Zhan momentarily speechless, unsure how to respond.

A century of solitude, if it were a human, surely would have gone crazy by now.

He nodded, then intuitively asked, ”Do you have a name? I can...”

”I am called October.” The small robot preempted, quickly answering.

”Why do you have a name?” Han Zhan seemed a tiny bit disappointed.

”Because there are always idiots who like to give others all sorts of strange names,” the small robot paused, then continued, ”When I woke up, the system time indicated October, so I’m called October.”

Being ridiculed by the small robot, Han Zhan chuckled awkwardly. ”Well then, hello, October.”

”Hello, garbage————”

Clang.

The place they were sitting, the garbage depot door opened, cutting off the small robot’s words, and the two of them, just like that, slipped down.

Mechanical Research Institute, successful escape!
