I Contracted All Ancient Divine Artifacts

Chapter 108: Chapter 7: The Mad Shang Family Members

Seeing these two behaving like exchanging secret codes, Han Zhan felt an alarm ringing in his mind.

He instinctively distanced himself to prevent any sudden possible attack.

Wang Chunyu pointed at the woman in the cylindrical water tank and said, ”You’re right, she is the purpose of my journey.”

”Who is she?”

”Shang Xiaoyun, she is also my Contracted Spirit.”

Wang Chunyu’s answer was unexpected.

Shang Xiaoyun? She carries the Shang name, could she be from the Shang Family? Can Shang Company is a family enterprise, the Shang Family being the helmsman of this aircraft carrier, how could one of their members be used as an experiment, being stored here?

Something doesn’t feel right.

Without Han Zhan voicing his doubts, Wang Chunyu seemed particularly excited and revealed everything.

”Shang Xiaoyun and I met by chance, the Shang Family does not allow family members to use the Awakening Stone, because they see it as the wrong path.”

”Mechanic Ascension is the only route advocated within the Shang Family!”

”Xiaoyun was curious about everything in the outside world due to a rare opportunity to leave the Shang Family’s environment, so she happened to touch the Awakening Stone and completed the awakening to become a Contracted Spirit.”

After becoming a Contracted Spirit, Shang Xiaoyun met Wang Chunyu, developed mutual affection, and formed a contract. Everything seemed fine at first.

Until the Shang Family sent people to forcibly take Shang Xiaoyun back.

Wang Chunyu initially thought it was just a short separation, but unexpectedly, it became their last encounter.

Wang Chunyu frantically inquired and sought connections to meet Shang Xiaoyun but all to no avail.

At first, he thought it was due to his status being unworthy of Shang Xiaoyun, so he worked desperately and eventually rose to become the captain of the City Guardian’s first squad, gaining some power.

But even so, the Shang Family still refused to release Shang Xiaoyun to reunite with Wang Chunyu.

”The Shang Family thought they conducted their affairs covertly; in Titan City, everywhere is filled with the Shang Family’s high-tech surveillance, leaving spies nowhere to hide.”

”Yet they never imagined, Xiaoyun’s awakened Talent Ability is S Level synesthesia!”

S Level synesthesia: two people with synesthesia can share each other’s vision, meaning, everything Shang Xiaoyun experienced within the Shang Family, Wang Chunyu knew clearly through synesthesia.

”Because she awakened to become a Contracted Spirit and possesses Shang Family bloodline, she is the best experimental vessel.”

”The Shang Family has always researched Mechanical Ascension-related things, first experimenting on ordinary people, later discovering that Awakened individuals have a higher compatibility with machinery, thus finding ways to use Awakened individuals for experiments.”

”When the experiments reached a certain degree, to verify feasibility, they used awakened members with Shang Family bloodline for final tests!”

In the eyes of the Shang Family, everything serves experiments.

The ultimate purpose of their experiments was to upload their mental consciousness to terminals through machines, achieving immortality and Mechanical Ascension!

Such an insane experiment, such a mad idea, God knows how many generations have been involved.

Looking at Shang Xiaoyun before him, she was the experimental outcome from several versions ago.

”Xiaoyun’s experiment failed; she became a defective product. But she is still kept here, visited daily for recording experimental data and restoring physical functions to prolong life.”

Is this what they call, living being more painful than dying?

Han Zhan suddenly understood what drove Wang Chunyu to ponder deeply.

Through the Talent synesthesia, Wang Chunyu experienced everything Shang Xiaoyun went through, and Shang Xiaoyun, through synesthesia, felt the outside world from Wang Chunyu, maintaining her clarity, preserving humanity, and not becoming a numb experimental tool.

This all made sense now.

Wang Chunyu navigated the Mechanical Research Institute expertly not because he was a Shang Family member but because he had a Shang Family Contracted Spirit right here.

”So what is your plan?”

”By all means, entering here as a slave, using gathered young people as shields, using the opportunity to detach the mechanical arm, and escape from the elevator, all was within your plan.”

For today’s plan, Wang Chunyu simulated it countless times in his mind.

He didn’t deny Han Zhan’s words.

”We all have capsule bombs injected in our necks, a special bomb targeting Awakened individuals, exploding immediately with any spiritual power fluctuation in the body.”

”Once injected, it breaks down in the bloodstream, spreading through the body, ordinary means cannot remove it, and its power is immense.”

”Once exploded, it would reduce you to ashes, with no remains.”

Wang Chunyu spoke as he walked beside the cylindrical transparent water tank. Suddenly, those metal tubes originally plugged to giant mechanical devices seemed to come alive, connecting to his body.

”What are you doing?” Han Zhan asked.

”As you can see, swapping blood. Extracting the blood containing the potent bomb and replacing it with pure blood re-injected.”

The process was quick, shortly, a small capsule was extracted, placed into Wang Chunyu’s hand.

”Wanna try?”

Han Zhan shook his head.

He did not plan to leave his blood here, not to mention understanding the mechanism of the capsule bomb; it might not even hurt him.

Once Han Zhan activated the ”Endless Devouring” Talent, he could devour the micro-bombs in the blood, absolutely worry-free.

Seeing Han Zhan’s refusal, Wang Chunyu shrugged without saying more.

Holding the bomb, he turned and walked towards the door.

”Where are you going now?”

”To show the Shang Family a little fireworks shock.” Wang Chunyu said, raising the capsule bomb in hand, Han Zhan seemed to understand his idea.

From becoming a slave, to being injected with the bomb, then entering the Mechanical Research Institute, extracting the bomb, it was all interconnected.

What did Wang Chunyu intend to do with this weapon the enemy brought along?

Soon, Han Zhan got the answer.

Wang Chunyu navigated a complex hive-like maze, arriving at a hidden elevator, after another successful password entry choosing the top region.

On the other side, Han Zhan did not follow Wang Chunyu.

As he saw it, this was personal vendetta between Wang Chunyu and the Shang Family, he hadn’t forgotten his mission, to infiltrate Titan City secretly, find the Energy Bricks storage, and loot it.

What Han Zhan should do now is disappear silently, preferably escape through an unexpected fake death.

Facilitating his actions further.

At that moment, an electronic synthesized voice suddenly sounded in his ear:

”I beg you, could you save him...”

”Don’t let him, rush towards destruction.”

”The Shang Family is not something he can shake, don’t avenge me, don’t avenge me...”

Beep beep beep beep!

A series of prompts sounded from the giant mechanical device, the heart rate on the electrocardiogram quickening.
