The Beautiful CEO's Personal Mad Doctor

Chapter 17: Chapter 17: My Husband Is a Rich Heir

A homewrecker?

Not even worth three hundred thousand?

Lin Ruoxi’s words struck a raw nerve with Wang Shanshan.

Wang Shanshan reflexively turned her head and saw Lin Ruoxi and Cheng Yuan standing behind her, enjoying the show.

A wave of hot anger rushed to Wang Shanshan’s head. She pointed a finger at Lin Ruoxi’s nose and cursed, ”Like you’re so priceless! The man I threw away, you’re clinging to him like he’s some treasure! So tell me, how much are *you* worth?”

Cheng Yuan shot Wang Shanshan a cold glance. He was utterly disappointed in her. ”My wife’s worth can’t be measured in money. She’s priceless.”

With that, Cheng Yuan turned to the cashier. ”Miss, I’ll take this dress. Please wrap it up.”

The cashier was ecstatic. ’This handsome guy is such a big spender! My commission on this sale will be several thousand yuan. It must be my lucky day!’

”Of course, sir. Just a moment, I’ll get that wrapped for you right away.”

’Priceless?’

Wang Shanshan gritted her teeth in fury!

Wang Shanshan knew Cheng Yuan’s situation inside and out. Back then, for her three hundred thousand yuan ”surgery fee,” he had begged everyone he knew and borrowed money from every last relative.

’Cheng Yuan just got out of prison. Where did he pull three hundred thousand from?’

”Cheng Yuan, stop putting on this big shot act! I know you through and through. Forget three hundred thousand—if you can even come up with thirty thousand, I’ll write my name, Wang Shanshan, backward!”

Lin Ruoxi had some idea of Cheng Yuan’s financial situation. She quickly pulled out her own bank card and offered it to the cashier. ”Here, please use this!”

Wang Shanshan’s expression changed, her heart twisting with jealousy.

’How is this fair?!’

’This woman is gorgeous, has an amazing figure, and is loaded! She leaves me in the dust!’

Wang Shanshan snorted coldly. ”Cheng Yuan, I never thought you’d resort to being a kept man. What’s the matter? Your teeth not strong enough for real food?”

The surrounding customers and staff shot looks of disdain at Cheng Yuan. ’So he’s just a gigolo?’

Cheng Yuan gave Wang Shanshan another cold look, then snatched the bank card from Lin Ruoxi’s hand. He returned it to her and said softly, ”Honey, save your pocket money for beauty treatments. When we’re out, your husband will take care of the bill.”

With that, Cheng Yuan pulled out his own bank card and handed it to the cashier. ”Here, charge this.”

Everyone was stunned. They thought he was a kept man, so where was all this confidence coming from?

BEEP.

Payment approved.

Stunned!

Wang Shanshan was utterly stunned. She stared at Cheng Yuan in disbelief. ”How do you have so much money? Your family is dirt poor! When we were together, it took you a full half-month of borrowing to scrape together three hundred thousand!”

Cheng Yuan couldn’t be bothered to explain. He was just secretly glad that he’d planned on surprising Wang Shanshan, which was why he hadn’t told her he’d earned over two million yuan inside.

Otherwise, he never would have seen her for who she truly was.

Wanting to get some payback for Cheng Yuan, Lin Ruoxi started weaving a story on the spot. ”Let me tell you the truth. My husband is a rich heir. He was only pretending to be poor to test his girlfriend. You failed the test, and I passed! So really, I should thank you. If you hadn’t dumped my husband for that fat guy, I never would have had a chance.”

’Cheng Yuan, a rich heir?’

Wang Shanshan desperately wanted to disbelieve Lin Ruoxi, but the reality was right in front of her. Cheng Yuan had just spent three hundred thousand without batting an eye. He was definitely a rich heir, no doubt about it!

And she had missed out on a rich heir who loved her so much, only to throw herself at a fat man who wouldn’t even spend money on her!

’How pathetic!’

The Gucci store erupted. Everyone was pointing and whispering about Wang Shanshan.

”I thought that guy was a Phoenix Man, but it turns out he’s a rich heir. This woman is the real gold digger trying to marry up.”

”This is hilarious. She dumped such a loaded rich heir for a fat guy who won’t even part with three hundred thousand for her.”

”Why do I find this so satisfying? I have just one word for this—’Deserved!’”

”I remember someone said they’d write their name backward just now.”

...

The crowd’s murmurs made Wang Shanshan so ashamed she wished the ground would open up and swallow her whole.

Wang Shanshan wanted to turn and flee, but she couldn’t accept it!

’Cheng Yuan belongs to me!’

Wang Shanshan shook off Li Guoqian’s arm, walked up to Cheng Yuan, and put on a pitiful, teary-eyed expression.

”Cheng Yuan, don’t be angry anymore. I was just trying to make you jealous. We were together for three whole years, how could I betray you? Let’s get back together, okay?”

As she spoke, Wang Shanshan reached for Cheng Yuan’s hand.

GAG!

Cheng Yuan felt a wave of nausea. He couldn’t believe Wang Shanshan could be so shameless!

Cheng Yuan quickly took a step back. ”Don’t touch me. You’re filthy!”

With that, Cheng Yuan grabbed Lin Ruoxi’s hand and turned to leave. ”Honey, there’s something dirty here. Let’s go to another store. Oh, by the way, it’s a local tradition for a husband to buy his wife a set of gold jewelry. Come on, let’s go get you some.”

”Thank you, honey.”

Soon, the two of them disappeared from Wang Shanshan’s sight.

Regret!

Endless regret!

Wang Shanshan was sick with regret.

She was the one who had personally pushed a rich heir who loved her so much into the arms of another woman!

She knew she would never find another man who loved her as much as Cheng Yuan did.

...

Of course, Cheng Yuan didn’t care about Wang Shanshan’s feelings. His mind was clear and unburdened; in that last moment, he had truly said goodbye to his past relationship.

Soon, they arrived at the jewelry section.

”Honey, pick out whatever you like. Your husband’s got money.”

Lin Ruoxi shot him an exasperated look. ”I only called you ’honey’ back there to help you save face. There’s no one we know here now. You can drop the act.”

Cheng Yuan smiled bitterly. ’Looks like my revolution still has a long way to go!’

”Ruoxi, I’m not acting. There really is a tradition here in Luocheng of giving a set of gold jewelry. If we want our ’act’ to be convincing, we can’t leave that part out.”

Lin Ruoxi knew a bit about marriage customs and was aware that giving a set of gold jewelry was indeed a requirement in some places.

”If it’s a Luocheng tradition, then we’ll buy it! But... you just got out of prison, where did you get all that money? I was honestly worried your card would be declined and you’d be humiliated.”

”My medical skills aren’t bad. I cured some illnesses for inmates and guards and earned some consultation fees.”

”You’re a doctor, too?”

Lin Ruoxi’s eyes lit up. If Cheng Yuan could become a Divine Doctor, perhaps... there could be a future for them?

’But, Cheng Yuan is so young. Even if he’d started studying medicine in the womb, how skilled could he possibly be?’

’For now, I can only hope his medical skills develop quickly.’

After choosing the gold jewelry, the two went to several other designer stores, buying a few outfits for each of them, as well as several pairs of leather shoes.

A shopping spree is a joyous thing. Laden with bags, the two of them walked out of the mall and headed for the parking lot.

...

「Meanwhile.」

Wang Shanshan pulled herself together, reapplied her makeup, and started wandering around the parking lot, planning to find another mark.

She hadn’t found one yet when she suddenly saw Cheng Yuan and Lin Ruoxi emerging, loaded down with shopping bags.

Wang Shanshan recognized the brands and could roughly estimate their value. Any lingering doubt she had about Cheng Yuan being a rich heir vanished. Her composure shattered on the spot, and any thought of finding a new mark evaporated.

With a loud WAAH, Wang Shanshan burst into tears, her cries filled with wretched sorrow.
