The Beautiful CEO's Personal Mad Doctor

Chapter 14: Chapter 14: I Am a Doctor

After sending the text, Shen Manwen pretended like nothing had happened and said amiably, ”Ruoxi, this place might be a little on the small side, but it’s more than enough for two people. I hope you don’t mind.”

’This is small?’

Cheng Yuan was left speechless.

’I’ll never understand the world of the rich!’

Lin Ruoxi looked around the small villa and nodded in satisfaction. ”The size doesn’t matter. The most important thing is that it’s a comfortable place to live.”

Cheng Yuan’s pupils constricted slightly. ’Ruoxi tacitly agreed with Shen Manwen, which means the place she lived in before must have been huge!’

’In the near future, I have to buy Ruoxi a mansion. I can’t let her quality of life go down after marrying me.’

”Ruoxi, here are the key and the access card. Keep them safe.”

”Mm.”

”Come on, I’ll give you a tour.”

Led by Shen Manwen, Lin Ruoxi and Cheng Yuan took a brief tour of the small villa.

There were seven bedrooms in total, but nine bathrooms. The largest bathroom was even bigger than Cheng Yuan’s own bedroom. This completely defied Cheng Yuan’s understanding of the world.

It was only then that Cheng Yuan began to get a glimpse into the lives of the wealthy.

However, Cheng Yuan didn’t feel inferior; instead, he was filled with fighting spirit.

’Now that I have the Celestial Witch Inheritance, I could trade any single ancient medicinal formula for a small villa like this.’

’Of course, I wouldn’t be so shortsighted. I’ll make the formulas serve a greater purpose.’

’For example, opening a high-end clinic, or maybe starting a pharmaceutical company or something.’

”Manwen, can you show Cheng Yuan how the appliances work? I’m going to take a bath. I’ve been away from home for so many days and haven’t done any skincare. If this keeps up, I’m going to break out.”

Shen Manwen had just been trying to figure out how to get Lin Ruoxi out of the way so she could face Cheng Yuan alone. Hearing this, she immediately nodded. ”No problem. You go take your bath. Leave Cheng Yuan to me.”

Lin Ruoxi nodded, walked briskly into the largest bathroom, and began to run the water, adjusting the controls with practiced ease.

CLICK. The bathroom door shut. But Shen Manwen didn’t immediately show Cheng Yuan the appliances. Instead, she stared at him with a cold gaze, silently composing her words.

Cheng Yuan looked down at his clothes. ’My clothes are neat. Is something wrong?’

”Miss Shen, shall we start?”

Shen Manwen withdrew her gaze and asked coolly, ”Mr. Cheng, I just gave you a tour. Of all the appliances in my house, how many did you recognize?”

Cheng Yuan answered truthfully, ”I recognize the TV and the refrigerator, but I didn’t see an air conditioner.”

”It’s normal that you didn’t see one. This place has central air conditioning. It’s in the ceiling. The switch is here.”

Following her finger, Cheng Yuan saw the central air conditioning vent.

”So it’s overhead. No wonder I didn’t see an air conditioner earlier.”

Shen Manwen said bluntly, ”Mr. Cheng, you only recognize the TV and the refrigerator among all the appliances in my house, but for Ruoxi, these things are perfectly ordinary. I don’t know why you two got married. Maybe you’re just a shield for her, or maybe you took advantage of her vulnerability and tricked her with sweet words. In any case, someone like you isn’t worthy of Ruoxi. And the Lin Family’s affairs are not something a person like you can meddle in. Take my advice: divorce Ruoxi immediately.”

Cheng Yuan’s expression turned cold. ”Someone like me? Then may I ask, Miss Shen, we only met for the first time today. How could you possibly know what kind of person I am? How do you know I’m not worthy of Ruoxi? How do you know I’m not qualified to get involved in the Lin Family’s affairs? And what right do you have to tell me to divorce Ruoxi?”

Shen Manwen snorted coldly. ”I’m Ruoxi’s best friend. The Shen Family and the Lin Family have been allies for generations, so of course I have the right! As for you... your clothes, your way of speaking, your bearing—those things don’t lie. I can tell what class of person you are with a single glance!”

Shen Manwen’s judgment was viciously sharp. Had this been the Cheng Yuan of two years ago, he would have been left speechless.

”Miss Shen, you judge a person based solely on your first impression? Don’t you think that’s rather shallow?”

Shen Manwen looked down her nose at Cheng Yuan.

”I know you’re not convinced. Ruoxi just told me you’re a Martial Dao expert. I suppose that’s the one thing you’re proud of, right? Well, what a coincidence—I’m a Martial Dao expert, too. The path of the Martial Dao is incredibly difficult. It requires talent and resources. Even with both, it can take decades to become a Grandmaster! Only a Grandmaster can join the ranks of the powerful and truly be worthy of Ruoxi. Do you really expect her to suffer with you for decades?”

Cheng Yuan wasn’t sure of his exact strength, but he knew he was powerful. The strongest Martial Artist in prison couldn’t last three moves against him.

’Even if I’m not a Grandmaster now, I must be close, right?’

”Miss Shen, people are different. You may think a Grandmaster is someone to be looked up to, but for others, becoming a Grandmaster might be as easy as lifting a finger. I suggest you calm your temper. You cultivate True Qi of the Ice Attribute, don’t you? Too much anger can cause the ice and fire within you to clash, leading to qi deviation. Have you been feeling a dull ache about two inches below your ribs lately?”

Shen Manwen’s pupils constricted. ’How does this bastard know something went wrong with my recent cultivation?’

’Wait... Half a month ago, I mentioned it briefly to Ruoxi.’

’Ruoxi must have prepped him beforehand!’

”Mr. Cheng, since you’re so confident in your Martial Dao, do you dare to spar with me?”

Cheng Yuan shook his head gently. ”I don’t hold back well. I might hurt you.”

Shen Manwen laughed in anger. ”If you’re scared, just say so! Why pretend to be some big shot? If you don’t even have the confidence to beat me, you’ll never become a Grandmaster in your life! Take this!”

Shen Manwen launched a fierce attack. She was going to make Cheng Yuan face reality—he was not worthy of Ruoxi!

Having practiced martial arts for over a decade, Shen Manwen’s movements were incredibly swift. Like an agile pantheress, she instantly closed the distance and thrust a vicious elbow strike at Cheng Yuan’s chest!

Cheng Yuan sighed. ’Shen Manwen’s strength is too weak. Besides, her Meridians are already in disarray. It feels like bullying to even fight back.’

’But if I don’t deal with her, she’ll definitely keep causing trouble.’

Cheng Yuan raised a finger and tapped it lightly toward Shen Manwen’s elbow.

A cold glint appeared in Shen Manwen’s eyes. ’Cheng Yuan is underestimating me far too much!’

’The elbow is the hardest joint in the human body, yet he dares to meet it with just a single finger?’

’He’s asking to die!’

Shen Manwen put even more force into her elbow strike!

The next moment, Shen Manwen felt a sharp, needle-like pain in her elbow. Her entire body instantly went numb, and she lost all her combat strength.

Cheng Yuan showed no tender pity for the fairer sex. He didn’t hold back just because Shen Manwen had lost her ability to fight, and he sent out a light palm strike.

THUMP.

The blow landed on Shen Manwen’s chest!

She flew backward as if hit by a truck, landing on the sofa and sending it sliding back several meters!

BLECH! Shen Manwen coughed up a large mouthful of dark blood, her beautiful eyes filled with utter shock!
