Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 3086: Chapter 3022: Don’t Want to Invite Them

”Alright, alright, I understand now.”

Jiang Xiao stuffed the notebook back into his hand and said, ”Now I’m going to paint the invitations. This is something I need to do myself, right?”

After saying this, she immediately jumped up and headed towards the studio.

”Aren’t invitations usually bought? Why are you painting them yourself?”

”The ones you buy aren’t as pretty as the ones I paint myself. I bought colored paper and decided to paint on them, it’s more unique that way, right?”

”Alright, alright, if you want to make a fuss, go ahead.”

Ding Haijing waved his hand.

As long as she’s busy with her wedding-related matters, he doesn’t think it’s all messy or something she shouldn’t worry about.

With Ding Haijing’s ’management’, over the next few days Jiang Xiao indeed ignored everything else and focused solely on the arrangements for her wedding.

Some things she couldn’t manage on her own, so she often went to the Meng Family to discuss with Old Meng.

For example, the guest list.

Old Meng was even more nervous than her, and made a list which they checked many times.

They had a disagreement about whether to invite Meng Qingshan’s entire family.

Old Meng felt that no matter what, Meng Qingshan was his brother, a relative of the Meng Family, and while they usually didn’t interact, this is a big event with Meng Xinian and Jiang Xiao’s wedding, so inviting them was better, otherwise it would make the Meng Family seem sparse.

However, Jiang Xiao felt that after all the trouble they caused before, the two sides had already torn their faces, so what was the point of inviting them?

Not to mention the possibility that Meng Qingshan and his family would come with gloomy faces to spoil their celebration, and seeing them that way would make them feel uncomfortable.

Indeed, on this day Jiang Xiao came over, and Old Meng brought up this matter again.

”Little, take a look at this list, I’ve already crossed out quite a few who I think aren’t necessary to invite.”

Jiang Xiao came over holding Snow Ball, and set it down as soon as she arrived at the Meng Family. Snow Ball lay by her feet for a while, got bored, and ran out.

Because it had been drinking water and playing in the mist of the Medicine Field in the Space these days, Jiang Xiao felt it had grown more sensible, so she didn’t bother with it.

She took the list, and seeing Meng Qingshan’s family still on it, she immediately raised her hand to her forehead.

”Grandpa, didn’t we agree not to invite Meng Qingshan’s family? Take a look, have they been in contact with you all this time?”

Upon hearing this, Old Meng was momentarily speechless.

Indeed, ever since their conflict, Boss’s family seemed to have completely severed relations with them, and neither Meng Qingshan nor the younger generation have visited him, even pretending not to see him when they meet outside, turning their heads and walking away.

”Also, did they visit at all those times Dad was hospitalized?”

”No...”

”So why should we invite them to our wedding?” Jiang Xiao certainly wouldn’t like having guests who she clearly doesn’t like and who obviously wouldn’t like her either.

Even if Meng Qingshan and his family came, they wouldn’t bless her; they might very well be cursing her and Meng Xinian in their hearts while eating the wedding feast.

Why invite such relatives for the sake of a little courtesy?

Moreover, even if there is any courtesy, it’s between Old Meng and them, it has nothing to do with her.

Old Meng felt somewhat helpless upon hearing her say this, ”Maybe you’re right, then let’s not invite them.”

He took the list, saying, ”I’ll rewrite it again. By the way, have you and Xinian’s clothes been prepared?”
