Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 510: Chapter 511: The Matchmaker’s Thoughts

”I am Meng Xinian.” Meng Xinian glanced at her, ”Doctor Liu?”

”Ah, you still remember me.” Liu Chunzhen smiled, sizing him up, and nodded inwardly. This young man has really grown handsome! Based on appearance alone, he and Du Jinruo are indeed a perfect match!

Thinking about Du Jinruo’s feelings, Liu Chunzhen became intent on playing matchmaker.

”Meng Xinian, have you not eaten yet?”

”Hmm, just got back from training.” Meng Xinian knew Liu Chunzhen because she was also from the Capital City circles. The Liu family was originally quite reputable, but since the old master Liu retired a few years back, they had somewhat declined in prominence.

Liu Chunzhen had married into G Province, so she’d been working as a doctor at the G Province Hospital all these years.

Her elder brother was the one who was better acquainted with his parents’ generation. Meng Xinian had met Liu Chunzhen before but wasn’t very familiar with her. Being able to recognize her was already due to his astonishing memory.

”Are you on your way to the small cafeteria to eat? Hey, eat slowly later, there’s a young lady from the Capital City looking for you. I’m heading back now, and I’ll bring her to the small cafeteria to find you in a while!”

Having said that, Liu Chunzhen didn’t give him a chance to speak and hurriedly ran back the way she came.

Du Jinruo was the one looking for Meng Xinian. How could Liu Chunzhen not see through her intentions? Now seeing Meng Xinian, she really thought that the two were a handsome and beautiful pair, a feast for the eyes, most well-matched, so she wanted to help Du Jinruo.

A young lady from the Capital City looking for him?

Meng Xinian frowned.

He didn’t know any familiar young ladies in the Capital City, let alone young girls!

He was only familiar with one girl and only wanted to see that one. As for the others, he had no desire to meet them at all!

And didn’t they know he had always had an aversion to the women from the Capital City elite circles?

Although it was a bit like tarring everyone with the same brush, he didn’t think there was anything wrong with that.

Meng Xinian quickly went to the small cafeteria, got a box of rice, ignored everyone, and turned to leave swiftly.

When Liu Chunzhen arrived with Du Jinruo, who had changed into a new dress and was full of anticipation, excited, they couldn’t find any trace of Meng Xinian in the small cafeteria.

”Aunt Zhen, is he really here?” Du Jinruo was extremely disappointed.

Liu Chunzhen was puzzled, ”Yes, I told him to wait for you here. Why is he not here now?”

Through clenched teeth, Du Jinruo guessed, ”He must have known it was me coming! He’s avoiding me because he fears I’m here to settle scores. So much for you, Meng Xinian. I was still considering giving you a chance to redeem yourself, but now there is none! The opportunity is cancelled!”

”Really? He’s that afraid of you?”

”Definitely! That year after he ruined my stuff, he fled the very next day! He left the Capital City!” Du Jinruo said indignantly.

Seeing her like this, Liu Chunzhen didn’t think she looked like she was there to settle any accounts; rather, it seemed she missed him too much and was eager to meet him. She couldn’t help but laugh, ”You two really are meant for each other, didn’t I get it right? Want me to help you find out which dorm room is his? You can go straight there!”

After thinking it over, Du Jinruo shook her head, ”He must be eating right now. Didn’t you say he just got back from training? He must be both hungry and tired. I’m not going to confront him just yet. Anyway, he’s bound to come to the auditorium for the performance tonight.”

”Oh my, look at you, all caring, considerate, and worried. And you say you’re not interested in him?”
