Supreme Warrior in the City

”Conservative thinking?” Sect Leader Qi was angry and said indignantly, ”Lord Ling, you are well aware of what this Su has done. Think about it, how many things has he actually done recently? Even the Heavenly Court has been toyed with by him. Lord Ling, I truly believe that you mustn’t underestimate Su Yang!”

”You’re right, I certainly won’t underestimate him!” Lord Ling Xiao laughed, ”That’s why I want to cooperate with him!”

”What... what do you mean?” Sect Leader Qi was stunned.

Lord Ling Xiao said softly, ”Do you know why Su Yang wants to cooperate with us?”

Sect Leader Qi shook his head. He only heard about the cooperation but honestly didn’t know why it was proposed. He and Su Yang had deep-seated hatred. Upon hearing about cooperation, he immediately refused and naturally wouldn’t consider why Su Yang would propose it.

Lord Ling Xiao: ”Su wants to eliminate the Second Elder and the Jade-faced Judge and their kind!”

”That’s quite normal!” Sect Leader Qi said, ”Of course, he wants to kill those two people, but the problem is, he also wants to kill us. Don’t forget, we have a grudge against him as well!”

”Which grudge is more significant, ours with him or the one between the Second Elder, Jade-faced Judge, and him?” Lord Ling Xiao asked.

Sect Leader Qi was at a loss for words, thought for a moment, and said unwillingly, ”This isn’t a matter of weighing significance. As long as there’s enmity, Su will surely not spare us. Su is definitely the type who must retaliate for any grudge. Lord Ling, you mustn’t be fooled by him!”

”I know, but revenge has a sequence too!” Lord Ling Xiao said softly, ”Su Yang gave me a simple reason, the Second Elder and the Jade-faced Judge killed the Beigong War God, and he wants to kill them to avenge the Beigong War God!”

”That’s nonsense!” Sect Leader Qi said angrily, ”It wasn’t the Second Elder and the Jade-faced Judge who killed the Beigong War God, we were involved too!”

”Hehe...” Lord Ling Xiao shook his head with a faint smile, ”For the Beigong War God, we weren’t the masterminds, nor were we the ones who actually took action. If you say we were involved, you’re not wrong. But if Su wants revenge, who would he target first, and then who next?”

Sect Leader Qi pondered for a while. Indeed, Lord Ling Xiao’s words were not unfounded. If Su Yang truly wanted to avenge the Beigong War God, his first targets would definitely be the Second Elder and the Jade-faced Judge, as well as the Peak Master of Sky Blade Peak, not them.

”What does Su mean by this?” Sect Leader Qi asked solemnly.

Lord Ling Xiao said, ”The Jade-faced Judge is currently chasing him, and he will appear, drawing the Jade-faced Judge and the Second Elder’s people away. What we need to do is go over and kill those people, then it’s over!”

Sect Leader Qi frowned, ”Su, this is nothing but using a borrowed knife to kill people. He wants to kill the Second Elder and the Jade-faced Judge, but instead of doing it himself, he has us do the dirty work. Lord Ling, do you intend to be used as a knife by Su Yang?”

”Hehe...” Lord Ling Xiao laughed, ”Sect Leader Qi, once we finish this, to be frank, if the Second Elder doesn’t die, can you rest easy?”

Sect Leader Qi shook his head. Actually, they have been looking for the Second Elder this entire time because they could never find peace in their hearts. As long as the Second Elder was alive, they worried that once the Heavenly Court returned, they wouldn’t be able to replace the Second Elder’s position. Therefore, they have always wanted to kill the Second Elder to completely solve this matter and finish what they started.

When the Heavenly Court returns, the Second Elder would already be dead, and whatever the Heavenly Court wants to say, it would be too late. Plus, the Heavenly Court definitely needs some assistance from the Human World, so by then, the Heavenly Court would have no choice but to select their two sects.

Therefore, after doing this, their main concern now is how to kill the Second Elder. Only by killing the Second Elder will everything be completely stable!

”Exactly!” Lord Ling Xiao smiled, ”For us right now, the most critical thing is to kill the Second Elder, even if it means no expense spared. Therefore, right now, as long as we can kill the Second Elder, nothing else matters. Whether or not we’re used as knives, these things are insignificant. Achieving our objective is what’s most crucial!”

Sect Leader Qi was dumbfounded; he was indeed swayed by Lord Ling Xiao’s words.

”Moreover, Su is smart, but we’re not fools either!” Lord Ling Xiao said, ”In fact, taking everything Su has done during this period together, it was all about sowing discord and using others to kill. Previously, he used the Heavenly Court against us, so we suffered several big losses. Frankly, relying on Su Yang alone, he has nothing, we’re under no threat from him.”

”Now, the people of the Heavenly Court are down south and haven’t yet reached here. We only need Su Yang to draw the Second Elder to a relatively distant place, ensuring that the Heavenly Court people can’t reach in time. By that time, Su Yang will be completely isolated and helpless. In the north, we are the strongest force, no one can resist us. Even if Su has any schemes, how can he accomplish anything without support?”

These words caused Sect Leader Qi’s eyes to light up, listening up to this point, he was thoroughly convinced.

”Lord Ling, you’re right!” Sect Leader Qi said excitedly, ”Su himself has no strength whatsoever; he relies entirely on using others. Here in the north, there simply is no power to counter us. Even if the Second Elder, Jade-faced Judge, and the people of Sky Blade Peak unite, they’re not our match. Without any power to borrow, Su Yang is nothing to be feared!”

”Hahaha...” Lord Ling Xiao nodded with satisfaction, laughing, ”Sect Leader Qi, you finally understand. The reason I agreed to cooperate with Su Yang is precisely for this reason. Here is the north, it’s our domain, as long as we ensure the Heavenly Court doesn’t interfere, there’s nothing to fear. By then, we can not only kill the Second Elder but even capture Su Yang and seize the Heavenly Destiny Treasure Book and the Heavenly Destiny Compass!”

Sect Leader Qi was overflowing with excitement, but still asked in a low voice, ”Then how can we ensure the Heavenly Court won’t come?”

”Hehe, I just received news that the Heavenly Court has its troubles too, their allied forces have started to have internal divisions, and it’s unlikely they’ll have time to deal with us for a while!” Lord Ling Xiao said, ”Otherwise, why didn’t they react with anger after we deceived them about the showdown? Why haven’t they sent troops against us?”
