Extraordinary Realm from Persuasion System

Chapter 345: Chapter 163: Ranking of Great Xia Grandmasters, Alone He Dominates the Entire Nation! _2

”Teacher Liu, you take good care of your injuries during this period. Our first stop will be the Primordial School that attacked you!”

He hammered down this decision with utmost determination.

Seeing Zhang Beixing’s resolve, the others sighed and did not press the matter further.

They simply talked about where else they could find Martial Arts for Zhang Beixing.

During their conversation, Zhang Beixing looked at Liu Pan and suddenly had an idea. He asked, ”Uncle, are there many people who practice martial arts like you in the military of Great Xia?”

”Huh?” Startled by the question, Liu Pan paused for a moment before subconsciously replying, ”There are. Why do you ask?”

As soon as the words left his mouth, Liu Pan seemed to realize something, his expression turning a bit peculiar. ”Beixing, you’re not thinking of looking for martial arts instructors in the military to learn from and exchange pointers with, are you?”

”That’s precisely my intention!” Zhang Beixing admitted without hesitation.

In his mind, the military belonged to the state, so it undoubtedly housed countless skilled and extraordinary individuals.

Among them, there were bound to be many martial arts practitioners.

Since he couldn’t obtain Secret Manuals from those schools and sects, then asking the military shouldn’t be a problem, right?

Realizing what the young man was truly planning, Liu Pan’s expression became even more peculiar.

He pondered for a moment before saying, ”In that case, you might be disappointed.”

”It’s true that there are many extraordinary individuals in the military, and quite a few of them are martial artists. However, with your current situation, I can only say it’s very difficult to learn anything from them,” Liu Pan explained.

Zhang Beixing was puzzled. ”Why?”

”Because this is the era of technology now!” Liu Yi replied, his expression growing even more peculiar as he spoke.

”If it were forty years ago, had you gone to the military, you might have encountered a few professionally trained martial artists with genuine skills.”

”But now, firearms have advanced significantly. Each generation is more powerful and lethal than the last. Consequently, the training focus has long shifted from primarily enhancing individual strength to primarily enhancing military proficiency. As long as one’s physical fitness is adequate and they possess basic combat skills, that’s generally sufficient. There’s no need for intensive, in-depth martial arts training!”

”After all, on the battlefield, it’s mostly about identifying the target and pulling the trigger. Even special operations like decapitation strikes or infiltration missions primarily rely on various modern technologies. You can’t expect to complete missions using only martial arts, can you? That would be utterly ridiculous!”

”Therefore, there’s absolutely no need for the military to train martial artists for close-quarters combat. It’s pointless!”

”Furthermore, training a martial artist can take ten, even decades. With that kind of time and effort, wouldn’t it be better to develop more advanced weaponry or master more military skills? Learning to operate a tank or fly an airplane doesn’t take over a decade, does it?”

”Even if, hypothetically, someone was already a martial artist before joining the army, they might serve for only five or six years before being discharged, or they could be promoted and transferred elsewhere. You wouldn’t be able to find them easily then,” Liu Pan concluded, outlining the conditions within the military.

Hearing this, Zhang Beixing’s mouth twitched, and he found himself momentarily speechless.

Damn, that actually makes a lot of sense!

No matter how strong a martial artist is, they can’t possibly go head-to-head with firearms!

Even a Grandmaster like himself, who had reached the Physical Limit, would be no match!

In that case, why would the military bother training martial artists? It’s a complete waste of resources!

When you have guns, who would go through the painstaking effort of practicing this stuff?

The biggest problem is that mastering these arts isn’t quick; it takes decades of accumulated practice. Would the military really give someone that much time to train?

Of course, the military does conduct research and make improvements to combat and fighting techniques, and that certainly requires experts. But they can just hire external professionals for that, like Liu Pan.

So, the idea of the military training martial artists is truly absurd.

What era are we in? Science and military technology reign supreme, okay!

”But Uncle, aren’t you also a martial artist?”

”And aren’t you currently an instructor in the military?”

Zhang Beixing felt there was still a contradiction in this logic, so he pointed it out.

Liu Pan replied, ”That’s because our Yue Family’s Continuous Punch and Yue Family Spear are easy to learn. Plus, with my modifications, they can be mastered quickly, within a year or two, and they’re quite lethal. Their only drawback is that you can’t cultivate Hidden Force with them. However, they’re perfectly adequate for advanced training and for instructing Special Forces in the finer points of hand-to-hand combat and fighting methods. That’s how I managed to secure a salaried position in the military.”

”Martial arts instructors in other military regions are basically the same. No one would teach traditional national martial arts to Special Forces. Isn’t that just asking for a lot of effort with little reward? Take the Horse Stance, for example—how much time would you waste on that alone? Wouldn’t it be more valuable to learn military skills in that time? Besides, if you’re thinking of sneaking into the army to learn a few things... are you actually considering enlisting?”

”Forget I even mentioned it!” Zhang Beixing immediately shook his head, without a shred of hesitation.

Judging by the examples of Su Dakai, Wang Fengyi, and Huo Honghao, if he enlisted, he’d likely be stuck in the military for at least ten or twenty years!

It wasn’t that serving in the army was bad, but he knew himself well enough to realize he probably couldn’t stick it out, which is why he’d repeatedly refused.

Not to mention, he was also dreaming of the day he’d become Transcendent and fearless against firearms. Then he could go abroad and really put those foreigners in their place.
