Chapter 323: Chapter 160: Empty Alleys as All Advance to Transcendent, to Demonstrate to the World!_3

This was clearly promoting unhealthy trends. He feared that as soon as the words left his lips, he’d be directly invited for a ”tea talk” by the authorities.

Netizens understood this point and collectively affirmed Shi University’s response with great enthusiasm. Even the official Shishi promotional account gave it a like. The Yiling city official account also liked it and added a comment: ”Hero who fights tigers!”

The tacit support of these two official accounts, although they didn’t make direct statements, was of significant importance. So much so that, just a few minutes after the response was posted, the likes and comments skyrocketed, and the post quickly climbed into the top fifty on Douyin’s trending searches!

Seeing this, Shi University’s president’s mouth split into a huge grin! Although the day’s incident had caused some negative impact to Shi University, the positive publicity it brought far outweighed the negative!

”I bet correctly!”

”I knew Zhang Beixing, that kid, would never fight an unprepared battle!”

”Hahaha, no wonder he’s the live mascot of our Shi University! Good job!”

Watching the public opinion online, the university president said jubilantly.

Since Zhang Beixing killed that person, public opinion online hadn’t settled down for a moment—everyone was discussing the incident! And the more people who discussed it, the more attention Shi University received.

”Good lad, I didn’t misjudge you!”

The president of Shi University spoke again. But amidst his happiness, he couldn’t help but worry, thinking that Zhang Beixing was still at the police station.

Speaking of which, it’s been so long since the incident happened, why hasn’t there been a peep from the police? Logically, with such strong domestic public opinion, international pressure shouldn’t be effective. And since Zhang Beixing is in the right, he should be released quickly... No, I need to call a professional and ask how this should be handled.

”Hello, is that Professor Luo? Yes, yes, yes, it’s me, the president of Shi University. I need a favor. Our school has this case with Zhang Beixing... Yes, yes, that one from the internet. I’d like to ask, generally speaking, how would his situation be handled?”

”Oh? Ah, you’re currently making a video analyzing this incident? Okay then, I won’t disturb you. You go on with your work; I’ll check out your video later!”

After hanging up, the president of Shi University went on Douyin, found the account of Professor Luo—a law expert and famous blogger with tens of millions of followers—and started refreshing his homepage. Soon enough, he saw an updated video post.

The president of Shi University clicked on it and saw a tall, skinny man with a crew cut and square-framed glasses sitting before the camera. He pushed up his glasses and crossed his arms.

”Today, everyone has seen what happened online. Many enthusiastic and curious students have also approached me, asking me to answer this question.

”To answer this question, we need to go back to one thing, and that’s the issue of accidental killing—how should it be determined?

”According to Article 233 of our country’s Criminal Law, those who accidentally cause death shall not be sentenced to death, but shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not less than three years but not more than seven years; in cases with slighter circumstances, to fixed-term imprisonment of not more than three years.

”But this is only under normal circumstances. In official competitions, the restrictions are naturally relaxed. Otherwise, if everyone is too afraid to take action and fights with their hands tied, it would be better not to fight at all. Sports competitions require participants to assume the risks!

”Thus, on an official competition stage, it is reasonable and understandable to accidentally kill someone during a fight. Since it is reasonable, what we need to clarify next is the determination of accidental killing.

”There are two main points for determining accidental killing: first, the fighter should have foreseen the possibility that his striking action could cause the death of the opponent but didn’t foresee it.

”Second, the fighter did foresee that his striking action could possibly lead to the opponent’s death but had the confidence to control it well, and ultimately it turned into an accidental killing.

”Considering today’s incident, and from my personal perspective, I believe this was accidental killing!

”Because when Zhang Beixing and Chris were fighting....”

On the screen, Professor Luo spoke eloquently, with a stream of professional terms and various simple and easy-to-understand examples and anecdotes that kept viewers riveted. His videos were already very popular and had high viewership. Now, catching such a major trending topic only increased the fervor.

Thus, the comment section under this video was also bustling with activity.

”No wonder it’s Professor Luo; with a single word, you awaken those in a dream! That Black Ghost was bullying our Brother Dan so much, and Brother Dan was pushed to the brink with no choice but to make a move. How could that be considered intentional killing?”

”??? Hey, person above, do you even read what you’re saying? My goodness, that Black Ghost bullying our Brother Dan? If I hadn’t watched the live stream, I’d almost believe you!”

”What’s the problem? Tell me, in this incident, wasn’t it the Black Ghost who provoked things first? Brother Dan was just participating normally. Who could have guessed that the Black Ghost, despite looking so strong, couldn’t take a hit? Is there an issue with him being accidentally killed by a careless move? (smirk)”

”Yes, yes, yes, you’re so right! I admire your ability to lie through your teeth. If the Strategic Deception Bureau doesn’t hire you folks, I’d seriously question their judgment.”
