147: Chapter 147 Another Use of the World TreePhilip saw Fu Hao head to the God Realm and finally felt at ease logging into the otherworld.

Although he could only be trapped in the underground prison of the Demon King Castle that had belonged to him just a short while ago, the action restriction period for the ”Demon King Defense Battle Failure Penalty” was calculated based on login time, so he absolutely could not miss this buffer period.

He thought to himself, ”If Fu Hao were in the human realm, he could use a teleportation gem to come to the Demon World at any time, but the God Realm is a different dimension; he couldn’t possibly teleport directly to me, right?”

Of course, nothing is absolute, so he planned to log in only when Fu Hao was streaming.

”A dignified Demon King trapped in a prison watching Fu Hao’s stream...” Philip suddenly felt his situation was bleak, even regretting the curse he had placed—looking at it now, he would rather not have been cursed than end up in such a state.

He had struggled many times over whether to send a private message begging Fu Hao to kill him once he found a way to break the curse, but he hadn’t dared to reach out even until Fu Hao entered the God Realm—even when facing ”self-destruction,” he couldn’t bring himself to bow his head to Fu Hao, let alone the fact that Fu Hao might not even succeed in breaking the curse.

Philip watched the stream without leaving a step, inwardly praying for Fu Hao to fail.

When he saw the gods of the God Realm repeating the ”rules” like parrots and Fu Hao’s expression growing increasingly dim, he could hardly hide his wild joy: ”This is the normal world!”

”It’s a good thing I placed the curse, otherwise how could I taste this pleasure?” The joy of revenge instantly washed away his long-standing regret.

But this wild joy did not last long—that ”Margo,” who didn’t even have a physical body, had actually shattered Fu Hao’s despair and crushed Philip’s hope.

”Damn it! Is this reasonable? Did the game developers lose their minds?”

Transcendents were already absurd, and now here comes a Creator? Even if the level inflation reached the heavens, how did all the good things fall to Fu Hao? Philip, who had been watching the stream the whole time, was going crazy.

”It’s all over... completely over...” Fu Hao’s quest rewards not only included breaking the Growth Curse but also a passive skill personally bestowed by The Creator—even if he had to kowtow to Fu Hao now, he would certainly choose to complete the quest.

In this way, Philip’s ”self-destruction” was a foregone conclusion. Although he still retained attributes outside of being a Demon King, with the curse upon him, how could he still play?

However, the gods had abandoned Philip, but the demons seemed not to have given up on him yet.

”Long time no see.”

”Demon King of Desire Alkunia?”

In the prison, an unexpected person appeared before Philip—the sixth Demon King of Desire Alkunia, the very instigator who had turned him into a demon and dragged him into the Demon World.

Although he had never seen her since entering the Demon World, her highly recognizable Demon King appearance allowed Philip to recognize her at a glance.

”Why have you come?”

”I heard you gave the position of Demon King to a human?”

”...How did you know?” Philip, because of the curse, had been unable to log in normally for a long time, and even when he did, he was trapped, so he had never leaked information about Fu Hao, nor was there any need to.

”Did the Five Great Guilds leak it?” He suspected, but quickly dismissed it—although the Five Great Guilds knew through the stream that Fu Hao had defeated him and become the human Demon King, they hadn’t even managed to become a Count in the Demon World yet, so who would believe them if they told anyone?

Demon King of Desire Alkunia revealed the answer: ” ’That Being’ has been watching Fu Hao since before he entered the Demon World. Our Demon King Authorities all come from ’That Being,’ including the Authority of Jealousy that Fu Hao took. Normally, a Demon King does not lose their Authority when killed by a human, but you ’Adventurers’ are inherently different from ordinary humans.”

Only then did Philip understand: the Authority should have been obtained by the next generation saint, Seli, or Helm, who had contributed the most, but it was monopolized by Fu Hao due to the ”Adventurer-exclusive” mechanism.

Demon King of Desire Alkunia was not here to discuss Fu Hao’s luck: ”Although the Authority is weakened due to falling into the wrong hands, its essence remains unchanged. Fu Hao, holding the Authority, cannot escape the gaze of ’That Being’ in this plane.”

”Wait!” Philip interrupted her, ”Does ’That Being’ know that Fu Hao infiltrated the Demon World, and even know that he can summon a full-form dragon, yet allowed him to defeat me?”

”Hear me out.” Demon King of Desire Alkunia continued, ”That Being originally hoped for Fu Hao to defeat more Demon Kings and absorb their Authorities—the Authority is the bond connecting him to That Being. When the weakened Authorities accumulate and the bond is strong enough, That Being will imprison him in the Demon World’s forbidden land, the ’Hell Frontier.’ Killing him would be easy, but That Being believes that compared to an Adventurer who can resurrect repeatedly, imprisonment is safer. Unfortunately, your curse disrupted the plan.”

Philip found it hard to accept: ”What exactly do they see in Fu Hao? Even if the Golden Dragon is strong, without Holy Power, he still couldn’t beat a high-ranking Demon King, right?”

Demon King of Desire Alkunia revealed the key: ”That Being wants the World Tree fruit that Fu Hao planted in the human realm. By injecting That Being’s aura before the fruit is fully mature, each one can create monsters that surpass Demon Kings. The original plan was to imprison Fu Hao and then let the Demon King of Domination control his body to harvest them.”

The World Tree is a Transcendent existence; obtaining the fruit through Fu Hao was originally the best strategy, but it was ruined by Philip’s desire for revenge.

”But now the plan has changed.” A fierce look flashed in Demon King of Desire Alkunia’s eyes, ”The World Tree cannot leave its roots until the fruit has all fallen, so That Being intends to use the Transfer Demon King’s Authority to move it to the Demon World—directly injecting the aura might spawn even stronger monsters.”

Philip guessed his mission: ”Am I to lead other demons to destroy the Endel Kingdom?” Thinking that Fu Hao was temporarily away, he was somewhat excited, ”Although there are three legends guarding it, without the dragon...”

”No.” Demon King of Desire Alkunia shook her head, ”Your mission is to lead all the Adventurers in the Demon World to challenge the ’Death Authority.’ No Demon King has been able to control this Authority to date, but you Adventurers can resurrect infinitely, so perhaps you might succeed—you are the backup plan if the original plan fails.”

Philip was stunned: ”Then the mission to attack Endel...?”

Demon King of Desire Alkunia revealed an evil smile: ”Humans, naturally, will be dealt with by humans.”
