Unlimited Top-ups, the Most Lavish Pay-to-win Live Streams Ever

105: Chapter 105 Counterattack3 million.

4 million.

5 million.

As the duel between Leonhardt and Fu Hao was announced to begin, the number of viewers in the livestream skyrocketed, constantly breaking historical records.

The previous record for the highest viewership in the history of ”otherworld” livestreams, which Fu Hao had only just set, was easily crushed at this moment.

This unprecedented grand event was perhaps also due to a key factor—the long-standing top-tier streamer Rachel announced she was pausing her stream for the first time.

A massive influx of viewers, including many who were clicking on a game livestream interface for the first time in their lives, were firmly attracted by the hype of this peak duel and poured into Fu Hao’s livestream room like a tide.

Leonhardt’s first official duel in his career, the ultimate showdown between the #1 and #2 on the power ranking, a legendary challenge from a rising newcomer against a long-famous legend, the true power of the hidden class mastered by a legendary disciple, Fu Hao crowned as the ”First King,” and a Legendary Assembly where The Seven Legends and all the monarchs of the human world gathered together.

Countless explosive points, rare in a century and worthy of being recorded in history, intertwined, making even those viewers who were usually uninterested in game livestreams unable to hold back their curiosity, frantically flooding into this small livestream room.

[ ”Class” donated 50 Yuan. (5 million? Shocking!) ]

[ ”Wanhai” donated 50 Yuan. (Fu Hao is probably going to get hammered!) ]

[ ”Royal” donated 50 Yuan. (Please be sure to interview Leonhardt after the duel ends!) ]

- ”Is it really Leonhardt himself?”

- ”Why did they suddenly start fighting? (New viewer confused)”

- ”Back for more after not getting enough last time?”

- ”Leonhardt I love you Leonhardt I love you Leonhardt I love you...”

The audience’s bullet comments were scrolling so fast that even the delay function lost its effect. However, Fu Hao, at the center of the storm, was unusually calm inside.

He decisively blocked all external objects that could distract his mind: the voice prompts for donations, the scrolling bullet comment window on the sidebar, the livestream menu interface, and even the notification of the highest viewership, which symbolized supreme glory, was ruthlessly turned off by him.

Fu Hao’s ultimate goal was not Leonhardt the person, but the ”Rank 1” throne that symbolized the peak of power.

He had firmly believed that with the heaven-defying growth granted by the ”Novice Trial” title, reaching the top was only a matter of time. However, even if he reached the top, he might not truly be revered by the world as the ”strongest,” nor could he reach Leonhardt’s long-ingrained, monument-like reputation.

Fu Hao knew deeply that even if he one day snatched the empty title of power ranking #1, in the hearts of thousands of players, the unshakable ”True #1” would probably always be Leonhardt.

”Perhaps... this is the best arrangement of fate.”

To become the recognized ”True #1” in the hearts of players, the only way was to personally and head-on defeat Leonhardt.

In the vast and boundless ”otherworld,” through a twist of fate, being pushed into a duel with Leonhardt by a mandatory quest, this in itself, perhaps, was a tremendous stroke of luck.

Just at the moment when Fu Hao’s undisguised, sharp-as-an-eagle gaze locked onto Leonhardt’s figure, the final preparation time for the duel quietly hit zero.

Unlike previous duels, this top-tier showdown with the rule of ”loser’s HP fixed at 1” required no additional referee. The moment the countdown ended was the signal for action to begin.

[ Duel start countdown 1 second... ]

[ Duel start! ]

- ”Charge!!!”

- ”Is the opening move also Earth Shatter this time?”

- ”???”

- ”What are they doing?”

- ”??”

- ”?” × 999

After the duel officially started, the livestream room was instantly flooded with overwhelming question mark bullet comments—Fu Hao and Leonhardt, the two of them, were like they had been hit by a freezing spell, motionless, just separated by invisible air, their gazes like electricity, staring and wrestling with each other.

In duels between ordinary players, rushing to attack at the start is the norm. The near-solidified stalemate before their eyes was extremely rare. If it were mages bombing each other or archers shooting at each other, a cautious start would be understandable, but for two top melee class users to both abandon the precious initiative advantage at such a close distance was almost unheard of.

[ ”Trial Maniac” donated 50 Yuan. (A mental battle at the top level!!!) ]

[ ”Fu Haos Eternal Fan” donated 50 Yuan. (Fu Hao chickened out? Leonhardt clearly let you have the first move!) ]

Fu Hao holding his ground was by no means out of cowardice, nor was it to test the skills Leonhardt might be hiding—he chose to endure and wait, just to wait for a perfect ”counterattack” opportunity.

Just as Fu Hao, after studying the battle of Leonhardt’s Mimic, still could not fully determine his true body’s combat style after obtaining a new inheritance; Leonhardt, even after referring to Fu Hao’s livestream recordings, could only see the combat mode before Fu Hao reached level 300, or simplified combat fragments from when he challenged trial dungeons after level 300, completely unable to fully grasp his current complete configuration and ever-changing combat style.

In this situation full of unknown variables, the most effective and direct way to eliminate variables was to seize the initiative with the strongest attack.

Fu Hao’s original plan was to counterattack with the secret technique ”Absorb Shield” newly stored by Emperor Endel the moment Leonhardt made a move. The more fierce and powerful Leonhardt’s offensive was, the more advantageous it would be for Fu Hao.

The counter-damage efficiency of ”Absorb Shield” was a staggering 70%, and the counter-damage magic mastered by Leonhardt, although the efficiency was close to 100%, had a fatal limitation: it could only counter-damage targeted single-target magic.

By comparison, Fu Hao’s ”Absorb Shield” was a heaven-defying god-tier skill that could unconditionally and all-type counter-damage all attacks! However, its effect was extremely conspicuous, and its duration was only a fleeting 2 seconds.

Taking advantage of the fact that Leonhardt did not yet know of this skill’s existence to land the first wave of surprise counter-damage was the key to victory—if this first wave of counterattack failed and the battle was dragged into a war of attrition, the strategic value of the shield would be greatly reduced.

”Could it be... the plan failed from the very beginning?”

Seeing that Leonhardt also had no intention of taking the initiative, a trace of imperceptible anxiety welled up in Fu Hao’s heart.

He had never expected to defeat the enemy with just one move of Absorb Shield, but he at least hoped to cause considerable damage with it, laying an advantage for the follow-up.

Now that even luring the opponent to make the first move had failed, wanting to land effective damage was even harder—if an attack was not launched first, without testing, it was impossible to judge the depth of its power.

”No choice, have to take a gamble.”

Time ticked by, the stalemate had lasted for over a minute, and Leonhardt remained as steady as a rock.

Although Fu Hao had blocked the voices of the audience, he could still clearly feel the invisible pressure from all directions—including the penetrating gaze of his master, Helm.

He could not continue this endless stalemate. He knew deeply that Leonhardt would never just keep waiting, but in this silent contest of patience and will, anxiety was more likely to entangle and erode him, the one in a relatively weaker position, like a vine.

”Helm, is your precious disciple planning to make the first move?” Coleman’s loud voice carried a hint of mockery.

”Finally able to see exactly how much your hidden disciple is worth.” Ulups also chimed in from the side.

Helm ignored their noise, his gaze nailed firmly onto Fu Hao, capturing his every subtle movement and change in aura.

Seeing Helm had no reaction, Ulups felt bored and turned to look at Loki, who looked relaxed on the side: ”Loki, with your eye, how will this fight go?”

Loki curled the corners of his mouth meaningfully, revealing an elusive smile: ”Hard to say.”

”Stop keeping me in suspense! Speak!” Ulups urged impatiently.

”I really don’t know... but one thing is certain—”

”Certain of what?”

”This duel will be very, very exciting.” Loki’s voice carried a hint of unquestionable certainty.

Almost at the exact same moment Loki’s voice fell, Fu Hao moved!

The crimson flame katana in his hand slashed through the stagnant air, carrying the power of a thousand jun, and fiercely slashed toward the solid earth under his feet—it was exactly his signature ultimate move, and also the iconic profound skill of his master Helm: ”Earth Shatter”!

Although compared to the terrifying version Helm displayed during the Human-Demon War that was enough to change the terrain, its scale and pure destructive power were slightly inferior, but the wild impact rushing toward him was exactly the same.

Even more astonishing was its speed—following the last time he chased the fleeing Mimic, when he spared no effort to refine all ten top-tier attributes of his gloves into attack speed, now added with the terrifying 100% attack speed bonus from the legendary weapon ”crimson flame katana” obtained from Yukina, in the eyes of those monarchs and viewers who had never seen such a swift offensive, they only felt a flash before their eyes, and the solid earth was like being hit by an invisible giant hammer, instantly exploding and shattering!

Except for Helm, who knew his disciple’s strength well, the knowledgeable Karulos, and Loki, who seemed to have foreseen everything, the other few of The Seven Legends were all shocked, their eyes wide—if they knew the true damage value contained in this strike, they would probably all be shocked to the point of dropping their jaws.

[ Used ”Fates Luck” skill, fixing the probability of the ”0.1% chance to trigger a 10-hit combo on attack” reinforcement effect of the crimson flame katana (+10) to 100%. ]

[ Due to the ”ring of the sage” effect, the ”Fates Luck” skill cooldown was reset. ]

[ ”ring of the sage” effect cooldown was reset. ]

Fu Hao, who successfully triggered the ten-hit ”Earth Shatter” at the start, was wild with joy in his heart.

Although the ring’s own cooldown was only 1 hour, shorter than the ”Fates Luck” skill, in the ever-changing battle, wanting to rely on it to continuously reset core skills like ”Fates Luck” still required great favor from luck.

However, this perfect start before his eyes seemed to indicate that the Goddess of Luck was smiling at him; as long as the luck was good enough, continuously triggering resets was by no means a pipe dream.

”Thought this ring’s attributes were useless... turns out it’s a hidden god-tier artifact!” Fu Hao sighed in his heart, but this joy was fleeting, and he immediately focused his mind back on Leonhardt—the extreme increase in attack speed meant the opponent’s counterattack window was shorter, and the time to judge and react was compressed to the limit; he had to be ten times more vigilant than before!

[ ”Class” donated 50 Yuan. (Caught it???) ]

[ ”NewNew” donated 50 Yuan. (I don’t think even Leonhardt’s grandfather could dodge this move, haha!) ]

As if to verify the shouts of these two fanatic fans, the diffusing dust and rubble slowly settled, and an unscathed, proudly standing figure was clearly reflected in Fu Hao’s eyes.

Even without looking at the damage notification that must be zero, just by glancing at Leonhardt’s motionless HP bar above his head, Fu Hao already knew: his ten-hit combo had been completely neutralized by the opponent in an unimaginable way.

[ ”Fu Haos Eternal Fan” donated 50 Yuan. (Knew it would be like this haha!) ]

- ”How did Leonhardt do it?”

- ”Doesn’t look like he dodged it... more like he absorbed it?”

Just as some viewers keenly noticed, Leonhardt did not rely on footwork to dodge the attack, but ”absorbed” this destructive ten-hit combo in some way.

The strange-shaped artifact emitting a faint blue light that he held tightly in his hand, the ”Counter-Damage Dharma Barrel”, had the core ability to absorb the enemy’s attack energy, store it, and then release it precisely at any moment chosen by the holder!

Although it had a cooldown of up to 24 hours, and a fatal flaw of completely breaking once the absorbed energy exceeded the limit, its heaven-defying performance was enough to make Leonhardt willingly invest a long production cycle.

”Mr. Fu Hao, returning it to its owner.”

Verifying the power of the artifact he had painstakingly crafted in actual combat for the first time, Leonhardt let out a barely audible chuckle.

Without the slightest hesitation, he decisively aimed the port of the ”Counter-Damage Dharma Barrel” that stored the ”Earth Shatter” energy steadily at the original owner, and a torrent of energy instantly pushed back!

This time, even Helm, who was usually as calm as a mountain and knew his disciple’s strength well, and Karulos, who had seen all kinds of storms, were just like the other legends, their eyes wide with shock, their faces full of disbelief.

The only one who maintained that composure as if he saw through everything was Loki, who always wore a mysterious smile.

And in the arena, Fu Hao looked at the ”Earth Shatter” that was incomparably familiar, yet carrying a stronger will to counterattack, whistling toward him, smiled slightly, and then shouted in a light voice:

”Good! Well done! —!”

[ Activated the ”Absorb Shield” magic stored in the ”Five-Colored Ring”. ]
